Under no circumstances does "Amazing! World" call for another failsafe nuke. That was a mistake.
The conspiracy has only just begun
The Authority has, since its conception, fought against and alongside Groups of Interest. These organizations have all been the source of many anomalies and the roads that lead to them. Each of them has a specific identity, personal goals, and methods for reaching them. For the longest time, the Authority has managed to contain the influence of its rivals, juggling more than a dozen of them at a time, until now.
Without warning, three Groups of Interest have experienced rapid development and increased activity. A tide of Amazing! Co. products and commercials threaten to tear open the veil, Nucorp's boom in research rapidly paves the road towards the application of dangerous knowledge, and Kabushiki Kawaii has been working around the clock in establishing connections in the veiled and unveiled world.
Evan Sanders (4'5, 45 yr/old):
"The local strip-club was bought out. I've seen the strippers regularly come out of manholes."
Protection is unable to catch its breath as it moves from one location to another; Research is working around the clock, trying to parse the information and materials brought to them; and Containment struggles to find the resources and means to keep everyone safe. Even the Presidium has begun to buckle under the pressure of this assault — one that some presume may be directed by an unknown fourth party.
To successfully deal with this crisis, the Authority needs information. It needs files. It needs data. It needs you to find out what is going on and why.
Good luck, agent.
RULES
For the following couple of weeks, we will be gathering data related to each of the three GoIs. There are two methods for gathering data related to them and collecting points, as well as goals to work towards.
Rumor mill and verified data
Is there a Ms Amazing?
Little chance.
The sudden boom in activity has sent agents scrambling to comb through old documents, cross-reference information from old reports, and reconnect with retired operatives. In an attempt to contain the most immediate and obvious threat, the Authority has investigated Amazing! Co. and expanded its debriefing document accordingly. Your goal is to expand it further by contributing your findings and cross-referencing your knowledge with newly acquired rumors.
This is the first method of collecting points. Instead of creating an article, you can contribute by creating a short blurb for the hub directly and having other writers corroborate your work. Your submission should consist of a logline, a short sentence describing the gist of the main text, and the rumor itself, which should not be longer than 250 words. Each rumor will be added to the hub once it reaches a tenth of its word count in upvotes, rounded up. For example, if your rumor has 136 words, you will need 14 upvotes.
Given the amount of misinformation propagated among these Groups and Authority resources, the Presidium has the power to veto any rumor that is obviously incorrect or contradicts existing information. The effort will still be appreciated — a rumor that reaches the required upvotes and gets vetoed still gains you points at a 0.5x modifier. Keep researching, only do it in the right direction!
The process of writing and adding rumors is as follows:
At the bottom of each Group's data flow is a text input. Type a short "headline" for your rumor and press "add rumor". You will be taken to the page editor, where you may write a report on the situation of 250 words or fewer. Press "Save" once you're done. Everything else works automatically for you — there's no need to add a rating module or any other boilerplate.

Articles
The second method is writing articles. Each written entry is categorized by its respective GoI. The Group should be the central focus of the story to receive full points. There are no teams, so you may write for any GoI without worrying about point loss; in fact, writing an article that involves two, or all three, applies 1.5x and 2x modifiers respectively to all relevant parties. Articles that only feature the relevant GoIs without making them the central point gain a 0.5x point modifier.
Upload your entry with the "terribletrio" tag, plus any of the following for the applicable groups: "terribletrio-nucorp", "terribletrio-amazing", and "terribletrio-kabushiki".

Rumor articles
Rumors aren't just for show: Once rumors are verified, you have the option of basing your article on newly available information. When you pick a rumor (or more than one!), credit it appropriately in the forum post and discussion page once it is uploaded. Rumor articles gain a bonus to their score equal to the point value of the rumor(s) they used. You may not use rumors that have been vetoed, nor rumors written by yourself. The rumors also need to have a suitably important and relevant point in the article—so no offhand mentions!
Breakthroughs
The veiled world has been whipped into a whirl of activity, and agents are fighting tooth and nail to highlight the most important and relevant topics to address. Knowing what has happened in the past and what is happening in the present will allow the fight to continue well into the future.
Throughout the contest, at the end of each of three approximately two-week-long segments, the Presidium will analyze all collected data and decide where to direct funds and manpower. The best-performing article of each Group will be selected to expand the official GoI hub: Mysterious subdepartments, lesser-known practices, details hidden in plain sight, and everything beyond are all on the table. These breakthroughs in effort and research will forever shape the Group of Interest.
To sweeten the pot even further, breakthrough articles will be treated as worth TRIPLE their points. Want to make sure the Group comes out on top? Better start combing through those rumors.
AFTER ALL,
WE ARE YET TO KNOW WHAT THE GROUPS
ARE WORKING TOWARDS
AND WHO IS FUNDING THEM,
NO?
Once the contest ends, the GoI with the highest score will have its best articles featured on the front page. There will be additional consequences to making breakthroughs before the clock strikes twelve — as well as not making them.

ART AND MEDIA
In addition to writing submissions, art and media may also be submitted. You may only have one art page to include all Terrible Trio art you create for the event. Preferably, your art page should be named "[your username]'s Terrible Trio Art".
Submitted art may include content from the Terrible Trio event itself, as well as anything related to the Terrible Trio GoIs. You may also submit an art piece as a rumor, and it is scored as a 150-word rumor. If your media is included in the hub, your page is scored as if it is an article. The artist will decide which Group to award their earned points to.
If the button above does not work, navigate to the URL where you want to upload your art submission, and, once it is posted, add the following tags: "terribletrio terribletrio-art alternative-content art".
Scoring
Rumors gain points equal to a tenth of their worth in upvotes, rounded up. Rumors need to be verified on the hub; otherwise, they are not scored.
Articles are scored as follows:
- A 5-star vote is worth 5 points.
- A 4-star vote is worth 4 points.
- A 3-star vote or lower does not give points.
