The UNESCO website includes a wealth of information relating to activities of the Organization. This information is at risk of disappearing and the UNESCO Archives and the Division of Public Information have therefore launched a web-archiving project to preserve this valuable web heritage.

- UNESCO's archives are the institutional memory of the Organization. They are constituted by materials received or prepared by the Organization in the exercise of its functions. The mission of the Archives and Records Management Unit is therefore twofold: to document the history and activities of the Organization since 1945 (and its predecessors) to the present day and to help the Secretariat to manage its records today in order to ensure their preservation and accessibility.

- The Communication and Information Sector (CI) was established in its present form in 1990. - The UNESCO Venice Office (VNI) is the Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe. The Office fosters cooperation, to contribute to capacity building and to provide specialized expertise in science and culture with special emphasize to SEE and the Mediterranean.

Media development in this mode enhances freedom of expression, and it contributes to peace, sustainability, poverty eradication and human rights.
- The Félix Houphouët-Boigny Peace Prize is intended to honour living individuals and active public or private bodies or institutions that have made a significant contribution to promoting, seeking, safeguarding or maintaining peace, in conformity with the Charter of the United Nations and the Constitution of UNESCO.

- A list of UNESCO's Institutes and Centres. Institutes and Centres are specialized departments of the Organization that nonetheless support UNESCO’s programme, providing, in the same way as the regional bureaux, specialized support for cluster and national offices.

- UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) is one of UNESCO's key education-related institutes and the only organization in the UN that holds a global mandate for lifelong learning. Taking a holistic and integrated, inter-sectoral and cross-sectoral approach to lifelong learning, UIL promotes and supports lifelong learning with a focus on adult learning, continuing education, literacy and non-formal basic education. Its activities place emphasis on furthering educational equity.
- The UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) is the official and trusted source of internationally-comparable data on education, science, culture and communication. As the official statistical agency of UNESCO, the UIS produces a wide range of indicators in UNESCO’s fields of action by working with national statistical offices, line ministries and other statistical organizations. The UIS Director serves as the Organization’s chief statistician.
- The IBE is a global center of excellence in curriculum and related matters. As a leading UNESCO Institute we are recognized and valued for the specialist knowledge and expertise that we bring to member states promoting new shared global understanding of curriculum issues. To this end, we provide practical technical support addressing critical areas that impact provision and delivery of equitable quality education for all within the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
- The Centre assists Member States to develop policies and practices concerning education for the world of work and skills development for employability and citizenship, to achieve access for all, high quality, relevant and effective programmes, and learning opportunities throughout life.
- As the only UNESCO Institute in Africa, it is mandated to strengthen the capacities of teacher education institutions of its 54 Member States. IICBA expresses UNESCO’s commitment in capacity building in Africa. The Institution believes that effective capacity building targets at both institutions and individuals, while building institutional capacities takes priority.

- The Dakar Pole of the International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP - UNESCO) is a platform for expertise in educational policies. - IHE Delft Institute for Water Education is the largest international graduate water education facility in the world and is based in Delft, the Netherlands. The Institute confers fully accredited MSc degrees, and PhD degrees in collaboration with partner universities.

- The Programme and Budget of the Organization (document C/5) is prepared in the context of an eight-year Medium-Term Strategy. - The UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced the creation of the Scientific Advisory Board on 24 September 2013, during the inaugural meeting of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.
- (The Organization) The Secretariat consists of the Director-General and the Staff appointed by him or her. As of mid-2009, the Secretariat employed around 2,000 civil servants from some 170 countries. The staff is divided into Professional and General Service categories. More than 700 staff members work in UNESCO's 65 field offices around the world.
- (Global Priority) In contributing towards a new vision and commitment for small islands, UNESCO’s own action in support of countries and communities is rooted in the fields of culture, basic and natural sciences, social and human sciences, communication and education.
