Concern was raised with regards to some examples provided in the Guidelines on Inclusive Communication, which as is customary with such guidelines, is work in progress. We are looking into these concerns with the view of addressing them in an updated version of the guidelines.

- The controversy against the document stems from the fact that in the name of inclusion you would like to erase the Christian roots of Europe. I would note that all European values (respect for human dignity, freedom, equality, etc.) are based on Christian values. Holy Christmas🎄
- The “E” in EU stands for European. The EU can respect others without forgetting its history and cultures. “Merry Christmas!” is not an insult to anyone. Erasing it in the name of inclusivity does nothing for inclusivity and only alienates Europeans from the EU. Please do better.
