i don't like mill, map20 and map21

What's wrong with Quarry? Do you mean Baron's Den? I think they are decent maps, if a bit plain and disorienting by modern standards.
I'm more questioning why more people don't dislike Wormhole, for it's focus on 64/128-unit wide halls stuffed with mid-tiers and pinkies. Copy-pasted no less. Hanger, for it's focus on a 64-unit wide layout. Open Season for it's heavily padded out backtracking. Prison for it's spacious, confusing layout, and tedious prison section.

First phase are mancs, second phase are hell knights, third phase are arachnotrons.

okay. nightmare imps, hellknights, arachnotrons and mancubi

Totally brutal. Dunno why. Not even anyone tried to give a partial answer. OK, joe-ilya may also try now. If that helps.

MAP24 is the real monster of TNT and the faster people understand this the better.
God how i hate that map.

You can also say, "Okay." He just expressed his opinion. He can boycott you and your work. That's okay too. But if he starts causing harm and interfering, then you should tell him, "Go, my dear man, on your way, far, far away."

I'm testing 1/64th (~1.56% absorb of damage done) vampire mode and it feels about right. I do clip minimum vampire absorb to 1hp which makes chaingun a bit OP in terms of vampiring, but it seems OK generally to me.
I did also leave armor intact, and allow soul sphere, berserk heal, megasphere, and health bonus. Vampire only heals to 100% like stimpacks/medkits which, when vampire is on, can't be picked up. They just sit there. Since they don't affect itemcount I find this is OK.
One reason it is nice is that slaughtermaps are much more enjoyable because your DPS is high enough that you don't just die instantly all the time if you make a tiny mistake.
So I kind of think it's cool, upon more review.

So, like in Heretic Tome of Power or the most modern Doom games with their glory kills? Sounds nice.

Healing should only apply to melee attacks. Philosophically perhaps but I tried this and it wasn't fun. I think it would need a major rebalancing.

Could be a fun temporary powerup/powerdown. I played it before, as a permanent gameplay setting in ZDaemon. But I find it makes it too one-note for me, you don't have health; shoot enemies. You have health; shoot enemies anyway. It strips away an engaging mechanic, and replaces it with a less engaging mechanic.

Looks like the Everade Doom will have new modifiers. One of them is "Vampire mode" where health pickups are nullified and the only way to regain health is to damage enemies and absorb a portion of the damage done as health. This sounded interesting so I tried it out as a gameplay mode. It's pretty interesting and a new way to play I hadn't considered before. I used 1/16th of the damage inflicted as the regeneration value (just as a starting point) and it seemed maybe a bit generous. Also the BFG is basically infinite health and some slaughtermaps are basically broken unless you get instakilled. But, I found it interesting as an idea. What do others think about this idea? Does it sound fun?

needs a palette system, all the images look fucked. Needs to allow uploading of a playpal, if one not found in wad being inspected, and have the unique playpals of the major iwads as selectable options. Hi, thanks for trying the program and for the feedback. There is already a "palette" button (top right) that lets you select a palette from a file. You can load a reference IWAD file like Doom2.wad or another, and it works perfectly for me. If you have any problems, please let me know. Thanks

Игровые платформы это наверное стим, мейби эпик, мейби гог. А может они имеют ввиду чето от вконтакта. Well, well, I can just see Gabe allowing the FSB to install a backdoor into his system... Most likely, this will only happen on Russian platforms. I don't think even the Chinese will allow it, let alone the US.

I don't have zandronum but uzdoom tells me to register! uzdoom -iwad MORS017.pk3 Execution could not continue. You cannot -file or -optfile with the shareware version. Register! The entire Zdoom family has this restriction on playing with mods in the shareware version. I used the shareware FreeDoom1 as a basis, but made sure to retain the texture patch files and flats that were in the original Doom1.wad, so that when retexturing maps, only textures that matched the original shareware's names were used. However, the weapons and some monsters were significantly reworked. I cheated here: I created separate WADs for these actors and placed them in the PK3 pack. It was easier for me to work with them separately this way. Some dummy lumps can be used to trick it into reading this as not shareware I think it's still a long way from being moddable. It's playable, but it's far from finished. However, there's nothing stopping you from extracting the maps individually and playing Doom 1. But be warned, it's practically impossible to play in Doom-ports other than Zandronum.

Hi everyoneI created this new app Doom Resources Browser ( DRB) is a WIndows visual browser, editor, and auditing tool for Doom WAD, PK3, ZIP, and other resource archives. Rather than making you browse a list of cryptic lump names, it shows textures, fully assembled composite textures, sprites, flats, sounds, MIDI/MUS music, maps, 3D models, voxels, palettes, and text files in a fast thumbnail grid. It includes search, path filters, prefix and suffix detection, palette controls, animated sprite previews, and batch export to PNG, WAV, or original lump data. I also added a DECORATE and ZScript editor with syntax highlighting, autocomplete, error checks, include navigation, and live sprite and sound previews from state lines. The Advanced Map Inspector lets you examine map geometry, layers, heatmaps, and texture usage, while the Texture Inspector helps detect missing patches, duplicate layers, and issues in composite textures. DRB also includes a Mod Health Audit to find duplicates, broken references, unused resources, overridden files, compatibility warnings, and unnecessary package size. The Visual Diff tool can compare two versions of a project, including archive contents, graphics, scripts, and map geometry, which is useful when testing updates or preparing releases. If you don't want to download the app just use the online version. This app works in browser but locally; Files are never uploaded to a server, so the tool remains private and can be used offline once it has loaded. ---- DESKTOP VERSIONhakros.itch.io/hakros-drbWEB VERSIONdrb.hakros.com---- I'll hope you like it. Greetings. ----
