From other thread. Fed it to AI.
Feb. 28 — selling the site is already a real concept, not later gossip. Quote himself says that if he ever sold, he had received higher offers than whatever was being discussed, and specifically says one person keeps reminding him of a standing $25,000 offer. So by February there was at least one concrete would-be buyer known to Quote.
March 5–16 — people are already trying to dox Quote, and the staff know it. On March 5 somebody blurts out “DELETE IT QUOTE DOX.” On March 13 there’s discussion of people crawling old archives trying to identify him. On March 15 Quote says somebody accidentally exposed their own Kiwi Farms account in a screenshot, and therefore he now knows exactly who is trying to dox him. The really interesting one is March 16: a janny asks whether they can autosage the Quote dox thread because it’s the third attempt and nothing is happening. Mustard replies: “Let them keep trying.” That is about as strong a counterexample as you could ask for to the idea that Quote-era administration normally protected Quote from dox threads.
May 10–11 — Jannycord gets killed, apparently because of leaks. The surviving staff immediately scatter into unofficial replacements. People explicitly say “quote deleted jannycord” and later “he deleted jannycord out of leakage.” One guy says he’s very pro-Quote and pro-Mustard but has absolutely no idea why they thought deleting it was a good idea. Another says Quote may not be fit to own the site, then immediately qualifies that he doesn’t hate Quote personally—he just needs to stop behaving like this. You can actually watch institutional trust crack.
May 27 — the legitimacy collapse becomes overt. Quote apparently removes the intermediate “janny” role on the Booru, meaning people are complaining that new approvers can jump straight into more powerful moderation access without the old vetting layer. The private reaction is savage: “why is quote … doing random stupid shit and never talks to anyone,” followed by “this wouldn’t even be that bad if he just communicated with his own staff team.” Then somebody says that since Quote is leaking, they can finally admit Froot was a way better owner, and everyone piles on. This is before Salt by more than two months.
June 1 — leakage paranoia is now directly driving personnel decisions. An IRC transcript reposted into the private cord has someone ask Quote why Andy was fired. Quote’s answer is basically: Andy lied about deleting his Jannycord exports, Quote doesn’t trust liars, and Andy had already been leaking information about being demoted. So the staff’s fear of internal leakage had gone from “delete the Discord” to fire people over possession/disclosure of archives.
June 26–27 — the staff ecosystem is disintegrating into successor cords. You get the line, “Everything started to fall apart when jannycord was deleted.” The next night, 4737 recounts another blowup: drama in Brootcord, then Mustard demands Broot delete the server, and four Booru admins are said to have been demoted—Broot, Cobblestone, Warrior-Z, and Catter. Another ex-staffer says, “Ever since I got fired and jannycord was deleted this place has just been constant bullshit.” That’s basically the obituary for the old administrative social structure.
June 29 — Quote being tired, taking a break, and possibly selling is openly discussed. Peter says: “mustard is running out of steam / quote is tired and thinks of selling the site.” About an hour later somebody asks what will happen “once Quote will sell the site to his friend,” though that particular friend claim reads more like rumor than privileged information. Later that day they’re debating the standing $25k buyer, whether Mustard should receive the site instead, and one poster says Quote’s “main goal atm is to take a break like he wanted.” Another worries Quote would be morally worse than Froot if he sold to a stranger instead of giving it to somebody trustworthy.
This archive absolutely establishes that some form of Quote dox existed well before August. In May, the staff casually discuss a third-party site still containing “Quote’s dox” and refer to an older IP-based dox.
There was basically nothing supporting the disk-failure-was-really-a-hack claim.
