The Students' Union has achieved a 79.4% satisfaction score for representing students' academic interests in the 2026 National Student Survey, marking a fourth consecutive year above benchmark. On the 10th of June, your Exec Officer Team were made aware that the University will be one of the founding members of the ‘Defence Universities Alliance’ (DUA). As elected student leaders, we are sharing this statement to be transparent with you, students and staff, in the face of the University senior management’s disappointing secrecy, and their failure to involve you. Going forward as an Officer team we will continue to oppose this Alliance and represent the interests of students. We will urge the University senior management to leave this Alliance and pursue socially beneficial research in the best interests of students and our Manchester community.
The Students’ Union is excited to launch JobShop Agency: a new service developed in partnership with the University of Manchester that will make it easier for students to access flexible paid work across campus.
