Description
The AMS Early Career Leadership Academy (ECLA) seeks to establish and maintain a community of early career leaders in the weather, water, and climate (WWC) sciences, with a particular focus on women and historically underrepresented groups in STEM disciplines. ECLA offers participants the chance to engage with peers from many different industries, develop their abilities as leaders, and foster collaboration and mentorship, with the ultimate goal of helping participants eventually assume leadership positions within their organizations and the AMS. This presentation describes the objectives of the AMS ECLA program, examines particular actions undertaken by recent ECLA cohorts, and offers attendees a preview of what they can expect if they participate in ECLA.
