genuine writers getting wrongly accused of using ai because of witch hunt and proper grammar/structure in their works must be what being a woman in the 1600s who is wrongly accused of being a witch because she can read and is intelligent feels like
some people will be like “I wonder why fanfic writers don’t share their works anymore😔” and then this is them when a writer is kind enough to share something they write — as a hobby, for their own enjoyment — with them for free.
some people really don’t realize how privileged they are that they get fanfics for free. imagine having access to something for free because someone is kind enough to share it with you… and then being rude, entitled and an ungrateful pos to that person who was kind enough to share their creation with you for free
“almost 1 year is a lil too much for me” fuck off. fanfic writers don’t owe you anything. one of my favorite fics was updated after 13 years, and what I did is that I thanked the author for choosing to continue the work, I didn’t act like a spoiled toddler by asking why they didn’t update sooner. and even if a writer chooses to abandon their fic permanently with no explanation, that is their choice, their hobby, their decision. they don’t owe your entitled ass anything.
you people let tiktok rot your brains to the point you see everything as content farm and engagement. not a piece of art created by the artist’s love and passion. it’s dystopian.

How does the proship mentality "censorship and the criticism are always bad and wrong" work with propaganda like "Birth of a nation", neonazi books and works that spread harmful stereotypes of vulnerable groups. "Nah we gotta defend the right of nazis of putting down their fantasies because my ao3 gay porn could be attacked too"?
even nazi books should not be banned. people should read them (if they can) so they can learn how harmful it is. you don’t teach people that some things are bad and harmful by hiding these bad and harmful things from them.
the irony is that it was the nazis who advocated for book banning, which is… what you are doing right now.

writingdoseAnonymous asked:How do I promote my fanfics and get them attention on ao3? Also how do I keep my fics from flopping?you just write whatever you want, however you want. because ao3 is not a social media platform like tiktok or instagram. it’s an archive. there’s no algorithm, no going viral, no popularity contests. and writing fanfic is a hobby, it’s about passion and the joy of writing. it’s not a form of content farming. this does not mean you should never promote your fics. obviously, you can promote them on tumblr and/or other social media platforms. seriously, promote them as many times as you want. you can use catchy summaries that will grab people’s interest too. that said, the best way you can make sure your works reach the right target audiences is by tagging them truthfully and properly on ao3. also, this is very important, don’t tag things that are not actually in your works for visibility, because we don’t do that on ao3 and chances are that, at best, you will just drive your audiences away once they realize you mistag things for visibility. at worst, someone will report your works for it. #admin answers#fanfic#ao3#archive of our own#fanfiction#fandoms#fandom#writer#writers#writeblr#writing#writing community#blorbo#blorbos#fictional characters#comfort character77440

writingdoseAnonymous asked:What do you do when your fandoms no longer bring you joy? How do you find new fandoms when nothing out there seems worth loving?unfortunately I don’t “find new fandom”. new fandom finds me. like, whenever I hyperfixate on a character, it’s always unexpected. I watch a movie or a tv show, without ever expecting that to be a new fandom for me, if I don’t hyperfixate on it then I’m just a casual viewer. but sometimes my brain will go “this is your new fandom now” all on its own, and that’s how I get into new fandom. usually my fandom never stops bringing me joy until/unless my brain finds a new fandom to hyperfixate on and the old one fades away. I still love my old fandoms, so technically they still bring me joy, my brain just chooses what it hyperfixates on, and it’s always one fandom / one ship at a time. #admin answers#fandom#blorbo#blorbos#fandoms#fictional characters#comfort character47279

What if there’s plot holes? What if it’s a good idea, but I badly write it and ruin a concept? What if I don’t do something right or try to do something I think the source materiel would do? Like add well known characters to introduce them to the main storyline? If I don’t do that, am I ruining the concept once again? Even if I go on ao3 and read fics to get inspiration, it feels like I’m taking someone else’s idea and proves that I’m not creative and I’m not a good writer. It makes me wonder if I should even bother trying to write the fic if I’m this worried and insecure about it. I don't think there's a "badly written fic" as long as it's written with love. that said, if you are ever unsatisfied with what you wrote, a reminder that a fic that "isn't good" is still better than a fic that was never written at all. whether or not you'll end up liking it, having written it at all is always something.(and no, you are not "taking people's ideas". the thing about art and artists — creative writing included — is that we are in one way or another always inspired by each others' works. even subconsciously. writingdose*not my screenshot hey, ao3 user i_hate_ai_fic1. ai witch hunt is harming genuine writers as much as ai does, if not more. you are harming genuine writers as much as ai does, if not more. 2. ai was trained to mimic human-made works. if you think a work “looks like it was created by ai”, please ask yourself what you think ai was trained on and what you think it was trained to mimic. 3. re: this post and this post. you can never know for sure if a work was written by ai (no, ai checker doesn’t work, the machine itself is ai and unreliable). you can only guess based on vibes. so yes, there’s always a chance of you wrongly accusing a genuine writer who doesn’t use ai to create their works. 4. this is the exact reason genuine writers no longer share their works and why more and more genuine writers take their human-made works down. 5. no matter what you claim, I believe this can be considered harassment if what you’re doing results in people getting harassed, which is against ao3’s terms of service — meaning people can still report you for this. with all that said, I believe this isn’t how collections on ao3 work anymore (so if anything, there’s a chance this is just troll/ragebait, which is shitty regardless). here’s how ao3 collections actually work now. edit: apparently this is how they bypass ao3’s system if you can, please make sure to give love, kudos, nice comments and support to works under this person’s bookmarks here. also here’s what ao3 says about ai-generated works on their platform. writingdoseAnonymous asked:twin should i be posting fics as a 12 year old 🥹✌️ it genuinely helps me a lot with my mental health and makes me really, but my brother told me to quit writing..and also how do you write tooth-rotting fluff..?I can’t tell you if you should or shouldn’t post fanfics. but my thoughts on minor reading, writing, posting fics are that they can do whatever they want as long as they’re not harming anybody and as long as they’re careful who they’re talking to online and what personal information they’re disclosing on the internet. the issue isn’t “minor reading, writing or posting fanfics” or “what minor reads or posts”. it’s how they can stay safe online. my advice is to be careful who you’re talking to and please, please, please, please don’t let strangers know you’re a minor. I’m not saying “lie about your age”. what I’m saying is your age is your personal information that people with ill intentions may use to harm you. if you do decide to post your fics, please make sure you keep your personal information, including your age, private. even if you don't post your fics but are on social media, please also guard your private information. no one needs to know if you’re a minor. as for your brother telling you to quit writing. personally, I wouldn’t say I agree with anybody telling anyone to quit their hobby, especially when the hobby is harmless. but I should also remind you that I’m a stranger. I don’t have the context. I’m not saying to always blindly trust and believe everything a family member says, because unfortunately that is not always a good idea for everybody. but like, I don’t know you or your brother. I don’t have any context. so I will refrain from having any opinions on this topic specifically. as for fluff, I’m afraid I focus more on whump — so tooth-rotting fluff may not be in my area of expertise. but in my opinion, tooth-rotting fluff works wonder when it’s set in cozy scenarios, like the characters’ own home, them cooking together or getting snowed in together. or maybe it’s raining, they’re inside, and everything is soft and nice. the plot can be about their everyday lives and routines. it doesn’t have to involve any shocking plot twist or really anything much. which isn’t to say it’s a bad thing. I think simplicity is one of the factors that make fluff fanfics so charming and comforting. also you don’t have to rush anything while writing a fluff story, because fluff is about being comfortable. it can be as slow as you want. you can also focus on your characters’ feelings, how they are content and happy, etc. you can also mention small details, like how cozy the blankets are, how warm the tea is, how delicious the cookies smell, or how relaxing raindrops outside sound, etc. fluff is basically about feeling loved, safe and comfortable. so the trick is to tell yourself “I want me, my characters and my readers to feel loved, safe and comfortable. and I’m going to express what makes me feel loved, safe and comfortable through my writing.”I hope you’ll find at least some of these helpful ♡ #admin answers#fluff#fluff advice#fluff advices#writeblr#writers#writing#writer#fandom#fanfiction#fanfic#ao3#archive of our own#writing community#fandoms13153

Is it worth continuing if I want it to be seen?if you wrote it, it’s already considered a success. please don’t let strangers’ approvals be the thing that determines your works’ worth and values, and whether or not they are “successful enough”. sure, kudos and comments are great and deeply appreciated, but they aren’t the reason why I write. like, the thing about fanfics is that it’s a hobby and something you do for fun. and the thing about hobbies and something you do for fun is that you do it for yourself and your own enjoyment. you don’t do it for strangers or their approval.

writingdoseAnonymous asked:Hello.Have you ever deleted a fic if it got no kudos or comments. I only ask because that's what happened to me and I'm going to delete it soon. With the way everything gets accused of being AI now it makes me not want to post anything on AO3 anymore. I know I'm not good at writing and the fact that I have Autism doesn't help because I'm not good at speaking either. I hate that people are putting real people's work into an AI feeder to see if it's written by AI. Feel free to ignore this if you don't want to answer it. Love your blog.I have never deleted any of my fics. I used to write for a very small fandom where literally about 90% of the works for that fandom were from me. because it’s a very small, local show without a real fandom, barely anybody knows about it (it’s still such a good show though), I rarely got any hits, let alone comments or kudos. I still had fun writing about the characters — because I write for me, for the joy and comfort of getting to write, not whether or not strangers will like it. I mean, sure, kudos and comments are great, but they aren’t the reason why I write in the first place. I only stopped writing about that show because my brain shifted the hyperfixation to a new media, not because rarely anybody read my works for that fandom. I had fun writing about it regardless, and I don’t regret putting so much of my time and love into writing for that show. and yes, all of my works for that show are still up. that said, I understand the fear of having your works mistaken for ai or having it used to train ai. I wish I had a better answer or way to prevent it. unfortunately I kind of accepted and made peace with the concepts of 1. people will think what they’re gonna think, but that doesn’t make what they think true. I know I didn’t use ai and I don’t care about what strangers think about me or my works, and that alone is enough 2. anything and everything I post on the internet may be used to train ai in some way. do I like it? no. but it’s just the reality we live in now, unfortunately. I still have fun writing. I still post my works normally. I won’t let anything take that away from me. but I do understand why some writers may no longer want their works published anymore. whatever you do, whichever decision you make, is valid. I hope you find joy and comfort in writing, whether or not you decide to share your works. #admin answers#writeblr#writers#writing#writer#fanfiction#fanfic#fandoms#fandom#writing community22113

my character A has diabetes, constantly faints from low sugar, needs to get their pod changed by character B and awoken by character B when they faint,, does this count as whump?
or if it's just the fainting. character A has syncope and faints a lot and character B is the one catching them, making sure they dont faint againi mean it does give whumper whumpee but im very new to the concept, so i thought id ask you!yes, that counts as whump. anything that involves physical illness, injuries, pain, distress, danger, etc all count as whump.that said, in your story, character A is whumpee, character B is caretaker. there's no whumper here (unless there's another character that's not mentioned here or unless you count character A's diabetes as the whumper).whumpee is the character who's ill, injured and/or in pain/danger.whumper is the character who's harming whumpee.caretaker is the character who saves and takes care of whumpee. #admin answers#whump#whumpblr#writeblr#writers#writing#writer#blorbo#fanfic#fandoms#fanfiction#fandom#blorbos#fictional characters#comfort character790

I am a returning lurker and sometimes asker 🙂↕️I know it’s kind of random but when I saw one of your posts about scrolling through all your wips to choose one at random, it lowkey made me think about how I have this guilt??? about writing other fics. I was afraid if I focused on other stories it would take away from the big one, and that I’d lose my hyperfixation on my mainfic (which actually, I noticed it did a little, and that MOORED me):( how do you juggle several stories without completely abandoning or losing your passion for the other ones? And how do I get past this guilt? Is it normal? Because I kind of feel like I’m cheating on my mainfic everytime I decide to write literally anything else which I know makes no sense 🙂↔️ thank you!!hmm I’m afraid I might not be the right person for this because personally I… don’t feel that way? like, when I say I use my hyperfixatiom as a fuel and motivation to help me write, the hyperfixation in question is with the characters, not any specific wip or story.
so. like, as long as the passion I have for the characters is still there, it doesn’t matter which wip I’m working on, because I write mainly for those characters. “which specific wip I’m writing currently” is quite frankly irrelevant, as long as it’s still the same ship, same characters. so I’ve never felt the guilt that I am “abandoning other wips”. I’ve never felt like I am “betraying” or “cheating”(?) on my wips. to me, I will get to those other wips when I get to them. what matters is that I write about my comfort ship/characters. #admin answers#writeblr#writers#writing#writer#fanfiction#fanfic#blorbo#blorbos#ao3#archive of our own#fandom#fandoms#fictional characters#writing community#comfort character573

(Like technically at the time to do it) Thanks beforehand<3by reblogging something, you click the reblog button and by doing that, you give credits directly to the original posters. the posts you reblog still belong to the original creators. you show them support by reblogging their posts. it's good and appreciated.by reposting something, you save the original posters' works on your device, and then you post them as your own. this is considered stealing.ao basically reblogging is encouraged and is a way to support creators. reposting is bad because it steals from creators.#admin answers#tumblr12100

writingdoseAnonymous asked:Is it true that fics on ao3 will be shadowbaned if you comment to much on it? I usally try to comment on every chapter or whenever i reread a fic but now i'm kinda scared that It wrong I have never heard of this before. also ao3 isn't a social media. as far as I know, they don't "shadowban" people. what they do, if someone breaks their terms of service (in this case, it's mostly fic not being tagged properly when it comes to content warnings), is that they email the user to tell them their work has been hidden from public views until and unless the user adds a proper content warning to the work, which can be "creator chose not to use archive warnings".even most social media platforms don't shadowban/punish users because of something someone else did (unless it's a mass report). usually, if a social media platform will shadowban a user, they will shadowban the account that does the suspicious act (which in this case would be the commenter, for commenting too fast/too many times on a work, not the work that was mass commented on).but yeah, for ao3, as far as I know — unless there's something I'm missing — they don't purposely "shadowban" users. unless it's a glitch, which they always try to fix as quickly as they can.please don't hesitate to comment on works you love.#admin answers#ao3#archive of our own#fanfic#fanfiction#writeblr#writers#writing#writer#fandoms#writing community30192
writingdosegive love to ongoing fics too. not just one shots or completed works. while “writers write for themselves first and foremost” and “fanfic reading is a form of self care and no reader should feel pressured to kudos or comment on the fic they read” are both true, kudos and positive comments are still so appreciated. and as a fellow writer, I can tell for a fact that while I do write for myself and my own enjoyment, seeing lovely comments from my readers always motivates me to write more and write faster. unfortunately some people choose to avoid ongoing fics because they either want to wait for the whole thing to get posted first or they’re afraid writers will abandon the works and leave those works unfinished. but the thing is that if you want long, multi-chapter fics, letting writers know you love and appreciate their hard works by giving them kudos and commenting nice things on their ongoing fics will almost definitely always motivate writers to write. and also, writing can be hard. I know writers who pull all-nighters doing researches on their fics. I know writers who put so much time, effort and dedication into their fics. the fics they allow people to read for free. please let them know you love and appreciate their works if you can, especially with the raise of bots (it can be super discouraging for a writer to see that the only comments their fics get are from bots and scam). kudos and comments help writers write more fics. appreciate fanfic writers. appreciate fan artists. appreciate ongoing fics. #fandom#fandoms#fanfic#fanfiction#ao3#archive of our own#blorbo#blorbos#fictional characters#comfort character#writeblr#writers#writing#writer#writing community#fandom etiquette1,2613,844

writingdosehi @tumblr @staff @support @changes when we reblog a post and add our little comments or tags in the reblogs, we don’t want to take credits or notes from the op. the whole point we add our little comments or tags in reblogs is so that op gets notes and credits. that’s their post. op deserves all the notes and credits. that’s why we praise “reblog don’t repost” on tumblr dot com — by “taking notes from the op and giving them to the commenters”, you’re basically turning reblogs into reposts. and it’s so discouraging to artists, creators, everybody on your platform. I’m thankful you are reversing the change. but please listen to your users when we say the original reblog system is already perfect as it is. it doesn’t need to be changed and it certainly doesn’t need to be fixed when it’s not broken. it’s what makes tumblr tumblr. you said you wanted to “give every voice in a chain the credit it deserves”, our urls are attached to the tags and comments we make, we already have the credits. things already work just fine. nobody is complaining about “wanting more credit” when they add their comments or tags in the reblogs. with all due respect, so many of us love tumblr because it’s not twitter or tiktok. so please stop trying to turn it into something it’s not supposed to be.#fandom#tumblr#tumblr staff#tumblr update#tumblr updates#fandoms#artist#artists#art7111,443

writingdoseReblog if you do NOT want the new Tumblr update Apparently, from what I hear people say, in the new Tumblr update, if someone reblogs your post and adds a comment of their own, that reblog is counted as a new post and it belongs to the reblogger. Not you. You, as the OP, do not get the notifications if someone else later reblogs from the person who reblogged your post with their own comment. You can’t see what comments people leave on the reblogs of the post you originally made unless they reblogged directly from you. If this is actually true, it will just open doors for harassment. And also it takes the credits away from the OPs. Tumblr’s etiquette has always been “reblog don’t repost”. So this new update, if true, contradicts the whole core values of Tumblr as a community. Respectfully, we don’t want this @staff @support @tumblr @changes please listen to your users. I’d also like to clarify that this is what I hear from what a lot of people are saying, and it bothers me. But if I got anything wrong, I do apologize. #tumblr staff#tumblr update3,0412,954

I don’t even put them out publicly cos it feels so freaking embarrassing personally I’ve never felt embarrassed, probably because I don’t see anything to be embarrassed about. there’s nothing embarrassing about doing what I love and what makes me happy. probably also because I started writing fanfics because I was a fanfic reader who looked up to my favorite fanfic writers and wanted to be as cool as them. there are fanfic writers who I look up to, as my role models. I only feel inspired by them and their works. so it’s the complete opposite of embarrassment for me. but my feelings are my own. I have recieved a message from someone asking me to invite them to ao3. I told them I can’t, they said I could if my account was pre 2019. Then they asked me to ask a few mutuals of mine. I found the whole thing sketchy and blocked them. But I’m curious. Is it true? Could people with pre 2019 ao3 sent invitations? it’s true that you can send people invitations to join ao3 if you do have invitations!! so I don’t think that person was trying to scam you 😅 a lot of people join ao3 via invitations from other registered ao3 users — since it can take a while for ao3 to send people invitations, ao3 actually give some of their registered users invitations, so these users can then send these invitations to other people to join ao3 without having to wait for invitations from the site! it’s pretty cool!the only part I’m not sure about is “accounts made before 2019 have invitations”. because I’ve always been under the impression that ao3 gives invitations to their registered users, to give to other people, at random?that said, not every registered account has invitations to give. if you want to know whether or not you have them, you can check by logging into your account —> tap “dashboard” —> depends on your layout and what device you’re on, if you’re on your phone, you should see “invitations” right under your own name (if you’re on your laptop or computer, the “invitations” might be shown in the left sidebar) —> tap “invitations”.it will tell you if you have any invitations and if you do, how many invitations you have. this is mine. unfortunately I currently don’t have any invitations to give. but I can request new ones from ao3! (re: the request invitations button on the right)if you have, for instance, 10 invitations, that means you can send invitations to 10 people to join ao3!the part below is not from personal experiences, because unfortunately my account doesn’t have invitations despite being created before 2019 🥲 (I might request some though), but from what I’ve read 👇🏻if you want to send an invitation to someone, you just need their email address for that. so, assuming you do have invitations, under the “invitations” bar, ao3 will provide a box for you to enter the email address of the person you want to send an invitation to. you just have to enter their email address, click send, and then the invitation will automatically be sent to that person. so they can join ao3 without having to wait for an invitation from the site!it’s a built-in feature within ao3, so it’s completely safe and legit! it’s also a pretty cool feature that unfortunately not everybody knows about. #admin answers#how to ao3#archive of our own#ao3#fandom#fanfic#fanfiction#fandoms#writeblr#writers#writing#writer#blorbo#blorbos#writing community16109

According to them I write too much too fast and too "smooth" (???) for it to be human-made?? They've been stalking my fics and leaving long angry accusatory comments on all of them, and when I tried blocking them they returned with a guest account to do the same and in fact got even angrier bc apparently I was proving them right by silencing them. They've started replying to other readers' comments telling them i clearly used ai and they should stop supporting me as well, and they found my Tumblr and have been making multiple callout posts and DM-ing me here and harassing me for using AI as well. If you have any suggestions I'd be real gratefulfirstly, I am very sorry to hear this, anon. secondly, from what you tell me, I think you may be having a stalker here. them replying to your readers' comments and telling them lies about you, even after you've blocked them, and then harassing you on Tumblr too? unfortunately, I fear this may be more serious than just a troll accusing writers they don't like of using ai.but from what they accuse you of, I can see flaws in their logic:"you writing too fast and too smooth" — yeah, a lot of skilled and motivated writers can write super fast. they can't know how fast a person can write because they are not that person. also just because something is recently posted doesn't necessarily always mean it's recently written too. this person can't know if something that's recently posted didn't spend months or longer sitting in the writer's drafts, finished and ready-to-be-posted, and the writer only just chose to post it now for whatever reason."your writing style changed!" — no shit. they are going to be so shocked when they learn real writers develop their skills, which means writers tend to get better at writing the longer and the more they write, which also means their writing styles won't stay the same. I actually don't know any writers who has never changed their writing style throughout the course of their writing journey. my own writing style now is so much different from my old style when I wrote my first fanfic almost a decade ago. it's called "practicing your crafts", it's called "getting better at what you do and finding the style that suits you better than the last". the fact this person doesn't seem to know this makes me think they are not a writer themself."you blocking them means you're proving them right" — well, they just proved themself wrong. there's no reason why anybody would just sit back and allow harassment targeted at themself when the block button was right there. they were harassing you and you rightfully blocked them. simple as that.my advice would be to report them to both ao3 and tumblr support, and maybe you might want to disable guest comments on ao3 — I know it's not ideal because that means genuine readers who don't have registered ao3 accounts won't be able to comment on your work, but it will also prevent this person from harassing you. or, if you don't want to disable guest comments, my other advice is to enable comment moderation. nobody's comment will show up on your works unless and until you have manually approved their comments first. this way, that person cannot comment or reply to your readers and tell them lies about you, because their comment won't show up if you didn't manually approve it.as for tumblr, you say they're harassing you via dm, my advice is to disable dms from users you don't follow. you can do this by going to general settings —> messaging —> 'only tumblrs you follow can message' if you're on tumblr app (blog setting —> messaging —> 'only tumblrs you follow can message' on browsers). this will prevent any dms from blogs you don't follow. you can do the same for replies under your tumblr posts, you can also choose who can tag your tumblr. feel free to inbox me if you have any question about how to prevent people from tagging your blog, etc.last but not least, I feel like I should say that while I am not a fan of ai-generated fics, I will never condone harassment. so hypothetically, even if someone is openly using ai, that still doesn't justify harassment. my advice would be to block them if their usage of ai bothered you (general you). but harassment is never okay. period.#admin answers#fandom#fanfic#fanfiction#fandoms#writeblr#writers#writing#writer#writing community#fandom discussion#blorbo#blorbos#fictional characters#comfort character55286
writingdose***not my own screenshot***AO3 saying they will not be banning AI-generated works on their platform I agree with them and I respect them for this. no, I am not a fan of AI-generated fics, but as I’ve said many times before in the past:AO3 was built with the “complete anti censorship” stance. them banning AI-generated works would be them going against their own core values of “no censorship”. and “no censorship” means nothing is censored. and that includes works you dislike for ethical or whatever reasons. as of now, most (I believe) of creators who use AI to write for them properly tag their works as “AI-generated”. so you can safely filter these works out if you don’t wish to consume them. but I have no doubt the majority (if not all) of them will stop tagging their works as AI if AO3 actually bans AI works, which means these AI works will be untagged. you can never know for sure if the fic you read is AI or not, since they aren’t properly tagged anymore. whether or not you like it, AI is getting better and more human-like, meaning it’s getting harder to spot when a fic is AI. speculation, witch hunts, wrongful accusations and harassment harm real writers, as well as writing community as a whole, as much as AI does, if not more. it’s impossible for AO3 to effectively ban and remove “only AI-generated works” without innocent human-made works getting wrongly marked as AI and deleted in the process. so if AO3 were to ban AI-generated works, it would meanthere was a chance of a human-made work getting wrongly marked as AI and taken downthere was a chance of an AI-generated work being wrongly accepted as human-madefandom drama could and would cause innocent writers to get their human-made works falsely reported as AIhuman-made fics that “upset people”, in terms of contents, could and almost certainly would be reported as AI, because there were people who “found the fics inappropriate/disgusting and wanted them taken down” — and the only way they could do that was by falsely reporting these fics as AIAO3 volunteers would have to decide which works were AI “based on vibes alone”. and not only was it impossible for them to always make the correct judgement, there simply weren’t enough volunteers and time for every single work that was reported as AI to be thoroughly read by a human volunteer no, “AI detector” is unreliable and the machine itself is also AI — it’s known to have incorrectly marked human-made works as AI and AI-generated works as human-made. TL;DR — no matter how much you hate AI-generated fics, banning them would do more harm than good. #gen ai#ao3#archive of our own#fandom#fanfic#fanfiction#fandoms#writeblr#writers#writing#writer#blorbo#blorbos#fictional characters#comfort character#writing community#fandom discourse#fandom discussion2,8155,448
writingdoseAnonymous asked:I was hoping to ask your opinion on how you feel about keeping real life stuff and fandom separate...is it weird to not want to talk about real life topics in fandom spaces? Idk why but the current circles I'm in on tumblr are making me feel like it's weird to only engage with content from your fandom and never reblog something...for example...political or about mental health or stuff like that...I literally only came here for fandom stuff to engage with and create content for the things I like...and my life is depressing as hell and I just want to create content that makes me smile and engage with content that makes me smile...I don't like how it's weirdly starting to feel like a crime to not reblog about real life topics as wellI think the only ones who are weird and in the wrong are people who think they have the rights to pressure others into posting/reblogging what they want. you don’t owe these people anything. and from what you say, they are the type of people I want nothing to do with. my honest advice would be to block or ignore them and continue using your blog however you want. if you only want to post and reblog things about your comfort characters without any politics, or other real-world issues, on your blog, then do that. you don’t owe me or any other people the reason why you want your blog to be about fandom only. because it is your blog, something you run for your own enjoyment. if someone is entitled enough to think they can demand, pressure or tell you what to do on your own blog, my advice would be to block them. #admin answers#fandom#fandoms#fandom discourse#fandom discussion#fictional characters23106
