The developers of Dragon Sword: Awakening have reminded players that the game does not officially support mods or save-editing tools after receiving a growing number of support requests from users who encountered problems after modifying the game.
The studio says its current priority is providing a stable experience for all players rather than investigating issues caused by unofficial modifications.
Developer Hound13 issued the statement after seeing an increase in players requesting assistance for problems caused by modified game files.
According to the developer, players using mods or save-editing tools risk corrupting or losing save data, causing crashes, preventing story progression, or creating issues that stop future updates and patches from installing correctly.
The studio also warned that if it determines a problem was caused by mods or altered save files, it will generally be unable to provide individual investigations or recovery support:
“Our team’s highest priority is providing a stable gameplay environment, and we would like to focus our resources on issues that fall within our official support scope.”
Released on July 23, Dragon Sword: Awakening is an anime-style open-world action RPG set on the continent of Orbis, following the adventures of a young mercenary named Ryute. The game has already surpassed 20,000 concurrent players on Steam and currently holds a “Very Positive” user review rating.
Alongside reiterating its policy, the studio recommended that all players regularly back up their save files in case of unexpected problems.
Dragon Sword: Awakening is available now for PC via Steam.

Uh yeah. Always been that way. The game support staff isn’t going to support your stupid buggy mods.
Another s♥♥t about old nags. Garbage.
a game launching in 2026 without out of the box mode support is insane.
No game company supports mods. They might let you use them, or host a space to share them, but they’re not going to spend money helping you troubleshoot some bullshit mod they didn’t make.
