why does steam not just do so you have to buy the game again on the same account ?
hi everyone one thing i was wondering about is if bans like vac and game bans are permanent why can you then make a new steam account and buy the game again why not just make so you can pay like 500 euro or something and get it removed from your main account i get cheating is annoying but if pp wanna cheat they can just make a new steam account like in cs2 and start cheating again and again why cant they just like do a ip ban on the game and do so if you wanted to play again you have to pay somethingg like 500 euro to get the bans removed and people wouldnt cheat so often since they spend so much money to get it removed what are your thoughts on it ?

You are basically describing temporary bans, in effect.

Valve already tried that. VAC bans were once long ago temporary. Valve tried being nice. Those that had temporary VAC bans even promised to never cheat again. Once the bans expired, they went right back to cheating.

So Valve had to make them permanent. Your second chance description here is the same thing. Valve already tried giving a second chance and it was abused. Now all VAC bans are permanent.
its not the same thing since backthen it just expired if people have to pay real money they wouldnt cheat i would waste 500 euro just to cheat again

paying money is one thing, and it might deter some people from cheating, but there will always be people willing to cheat anyway. Some will make new accounts, some will hijack or buy stolen accounts, and some will simply buy the game again if it's a paid title. Even paid multiplayer games still have cheaters, so charging for an unban wouldn't solve the problem.

As for Squad, that's a separate issue. Valve isn't preventing you from playing it. Those community servers are choosing to use third-party software and set their own rules for who they allow on their servers. If they decide to reject accounts with previous VAC or game bans, that's their decision, not Valve's. Whether people agree with those rules or not, community server owners are free to run their servers that way.
the only reason games like squad can use software like that is because valve makes bans public so people can see it if they hidden it so people couldnt see it they wouldnt be able to make software like that so steam is also part of the problem there im not so techy so i dont know how those third party software works but it comes down to players can see the ban on profiles

That's true, but Valve made VAC and game bans public on purpose. Community servers simply choose to use that information when deciding who they allow to join. The decision to kick you comes from the server's rules, not from Valve.

I understand your point, but the principle is still the same. The only real difference is that one expires with time, while the other expires after paying a fee. In both cases, a permanent ban eventually becomes removable.

Valve already tried having bans that weren't permanent, and from their perspective it didn't achieve what they wanted. Whether the requirement is waiting a period of time or paying €500, it still gives someone a way back after cheating. Valve's current position is that a VAC ban is permanent.

I am not saying that having to pay money wouldn't keep some cheaters thinking twice before cheating again, but some players spend crazy money on skins and other pixelated items for games that are VAC protected. It's a lot of money.

So would some pay that amount and go back to cheating ? I think they would. For some, cheating is an addiction. It's like a drug to get over on other people, in games or real life. Being able to hide behind a keyboard and be anonymous somewhat makes it even worse and more tempting for those types of people.

I know that sounds twisted, but sadly, it's true. At some point, cheaters would just give up even if the fine increased and make a new account and start over, which puts us right back to the way things are now.

And since there is no way to prevent a human from making a new account, there is no perfect solution to cheating.

I still think that Valve also considers the huge backlash this would cause in the Community here, for those that don't cheat and play fairly. That alone surely is taken into consideration when talking about accounts being unbanned.

It's a cost benefit analysis just like anything else for a business. Is the cost more than the benefit ? The cost being not money Valve would make from cheaters paying to be unbanned, but the unpopularity this would cause with players that play fairly.

Bravo maestro. Even for an average computer science student, if he follows you, multi-hop is a chance to get you :-) :-) :-). What a noob you are :-).

What can I say? You're not even a scammer because you don't have the capacity for something like that. Level 0 private profile :-). You're going to block.

... or create a new account.

well instead of paying money, you can just create a new account, which valve made it free to do. so why do you want to pay 500+ in whatever currency. I mean you can still keep and use the same account, but just with a permanent ban attached to it
because in my experience i cant play squad because i have a ban in cs2 and cod ghost im not banned in squad but since most servers use some kind of third party software it auto kicks me also why make so many new accounts to just play cs2 when you could just pay for it to be removed and its mainly kids and teenagers who cheat which cant afford to remove the ban and it would make valve even more money i think most cheaters wouldnt cheat if you had to pay a really big amount to get the game ban or vac removed since you paid so much right now you can just make a new account and start cheating again

So in short :

you want a system change to benifit you personally and you dont care if it in general is a terrible idea for the rest of the ppl.

K got it.
Whatever the case I'm pretty sure Valve won't change their system because of you ....

What you suggested solves nothing because nothing stops deliberate cheaters from continuing making new accounts instead.

It's obvious what you're trying to do here but your ban stays, for eternity.

You gotta think about this in reverse also.

How do you think the Community (the players that get cheated against) would feel if they knew cheating accounts could be unbanned by paying money by the account owners ?

How would you feel if you never did anything wrong, followed the rules, and were in the same place as before, but someone cheated, broke the rules, ruined the fun of others just for the thrill of getting over on other players, and they were allowed to pay money to get unbanned ?

So in this case, say it was me, and I never did anything wrong at all but had to deal with cheating in games, all to see those that cheated get unbanned by paying money.

So what do I get I I pay money since I followed the rules and played fairly ? I don't get anything because there is no option for me to pay to GET anything. But those that cheated get unbanned by paying money ?

Doesn't seem fair, does it ? It's not. And I guarantee you that I am not the only one that would see it that way, and does see it that way.

In short, cheaters could pay money to be made whole again, in having their accounts unbanned. So how do I get made whole again, getting back my lost playtime from having to deal with cheating ?

I can't. There would be no way for me to be made whole again. That playtime is lost forever, and I can't get it back, no matter how much money I pay, even if that was possible.

but punish them forever is also not the soloution i cheated mainly because i was a kid and didnt know better

it certainly is the solution, that account receives a ban, cannot join vac servers for the game they were banned in thus preventing others from dealing with ignorant kids who became more even ignorant adults; it is a solution for others, not yourself, your solution is create a new account and don't cheat, very simple.
Once a cheater, always a cheater...
Why didn't you just not cheat in the first place?
