A new stalking tool

Unfortunately, another stalking tool has been released; allegedly, it was developed and deployed by the same person whose previous one was taken down recently.

In my previous post, I wrote about how vulnerabilities could be easily exploited, and removing tools would not be enough to prevent malicious actors. With another tool being released, this has been proven to be the case.

Regarding the solution, the suggestion remains the same. Lodestone information and account ID need to be concealed to prevent exploitation by bad actors. Removing another tool would not resolve the underlying issue currently in the game.

People like that guy are sliding the western fanbase down the slippery slope of SE pursuing and destroying mods verses the insanely lax attitude they have now.

This is going to be deleted in like 3 microseconds because they got their marching orders from on high to delete any mention of this.

If you were around during the first stalking tool, you might remember the forums left numerous threads alive for days. Then it got big enough where JP caught wind of it, and just two days later, all of the threads were deleted EXCEPT those that don't mention it by name. Even completely irrelevant threads like threads about the live letter were nuked as soon as someone mentions its name.

Why is that the case? It's pretty obvious that SE DOESN'T WANT TO FIX THE PROBLEM. They are begging you to forget that this exists, and for people to not spread word about the tool. Because then they don't have to fix their atrocious obfuscation.

They where just under a different name. But they are right. Any thread made about this tool gets deleted.

Because they will lose so many subscribers and profits will be hit hard. Every single decision made by SE is about profit, dont forget that, every...single...one. If SE could replace the playerbase with players who never complain about privacy and lose zero subs they would do it in a heartbeat because they aren't our friends, like every company they dont see players, they only see profits.

please explain in excessive detail just how an anticheat is going to do anything about packet sniffing/other tracking of network data sent to the client.

It also just doesn't work. Name an anticheat, and I'm more than willing to bet that the game(s) using it have easily found pages for mods and hacks.

Forum posts do nothing because at best it does nothing, and at worst it informs degenerates that there's a new thing for them to abuse.
