Why does this come across as a child using an F-word to get attention...

[–]villian_era_witch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You hit the nail on the head. OP is either doing this for attention or they are a white supremacist because in a reply they are talking about preserving “USA” [American] culture.

[–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk

[–]PresidentAshenHeart 2 points3 points  (18 children)

I’ll bite, what is fascism to you?

[–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] -7 points-6 points  (17 children)

The glory of national power and the love of our nation-state, and the love of our culture which is at risk

    [–]PresidentAshenHeart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to employ the Socratic method here…

Asking questions can help someone understand their own ideology much better.

To be clear, I think fascism is the antithesis of human decency and kindness.

    [–]Weary_Specialist_436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

or just fallen victim to old propaganda. Young people are especially susceptible to that

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] -1 points0 points  (2 children)

He asked what Fascism is TO ME. Not the definition. There’s a lot more freedom in that

    [–]Weary_Specialist_436 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if someone asks me, what pears are to me, I'm obligated to give the definition of pears, not the definition of bananas, and go: "well, that's what pears are to me!"

    [–]Weary_Specialist_436 2 points3 points  (9 children)

so... it's not really fascism that you endorse

    [–]Euphoric_Maize7468 -2 points-1 points  (7 children)

Why not? That's basically Mussolini's 10,000 foot view in his introductory writings.

    [–]Weary_Specialist_436 1 point2 points  (6 children)

yes, and if you cherrypick, Nazism is basically just loving your country very much

do we forget the dictatorship part?

    [–]Euphoric_Maize7468 -2 points-1 points  (5 children)

Well in the west we hear "not true socialism" and people advocating for its "true" variation ad nauseum despite how it necessitates conquest and totalitarianism to hold it up. Why can't the far right do the same?

    [–]Weary_Specialist_436 1 point2 points  (4 children)

because two wrongs don't make one right? what kind of asinine question is that?

    [–]Euphoric_Maize7468 -1 points0 points  (3 children)

My point was that nothing is actually wrong with the values being espouse but the application is the problem.

    [–]Weary_Specialist_436 0 points1 point  (2 children)

if the application is necessary, like in situation of fascism, then that's a big problem. You can't have fascism without dictatorship, and dictatorship is a pretty big problem. Those things are not separate, you can't have fascism but remove the bad parts, because then it's not fascism anymore

anyways, I'm not discussing that on Reddit of all places. Have a great one

    [–]Euphoric_Maize7468 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Frankly the current "democracies/republics" we have in the west (US Canada Europe) are resemblant of a softer fascism. Italian Fascism itself was an attempt to revive the Roman republic and the US specifically was heavily modeled after this.

    [–]PresidentAshenHeart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, and what is “our culture” and why is it at risk?

Why do you love the nation-state and why do you want to glorify national power?

    [–]warkolm 1 point2 points  (1 child)

    are you white?

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    Mixed

    [–]Weary_Specialist_436 1 point2 points  (8 children)

What made you specifically believe in classical fascism, and how do you perceive downsides of classical fascism, like lack of personal freedoms, or authoritarian rule often leading to nepotism?

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] -1 points0 points  (7 children)

Mussolini said that fascism is not inherently against liberty, it is against all liberty that is useless

    [–]Weary_Specialist_436 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Sigh. You are a teenager, so you are susceptible to propaganda, but don't fall for 80 years old propaganda. If you want to endorse any kind of political system, at least learn about it

if Mussolini said that his regime is not against liberty, only liberty that's useless, is freedom of speech that was suppressed a useless liberty?

    was secret police necessary?

    freedom to assembly was useless?

    opposition parties were useless?

get off the internet man. You're falling for 80 years old propaganda, that worked back then and should not work now.

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I have I have read fascist theory

    [–]Weary_Specialist_436 0 points1 point  (2 children)

and you believe that Mussolini only banned liberty that was "useless"?

what about nepotism? what about banning opposition? what about secret police? what about banning freedom of speech?

can you make an actual comment, rather than vague statement pretending you know what you're talking about, trying to mask that you barely have any idea how the system you supposedly endorse works?

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    1. Quite literally a quote from Mussolini himself.
    2. ❌✅✅❌
    3. Cope harder

    [–]r0se_jam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    Useless to whom?

    [–]WyldRyce 1 point2 points  (8 children)

What makes you feel like the US is superior to other nations?

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] -2 points-1 points  (7 children)

Well, considering the fact that we are the only super power in the entire world, other one that’s ever been considered a super power officially is the USSR, look How that turned out

    [–]Weary_Specialist_436 2 points3 points  (6 children)

oh boy, you not only fell to 80 years old propaganda, you're falling to current propaganda too. USA is doomed, the richest third world country

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] -1 points0 points  (5 children)

    It is a literal fact

    [–]Weary_Specialist_436 1 point2 points  (4 children)

richest third world country sure is

you're like a housecat. Dependent on a system you don't even understand, thinking you're stronger than it

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] -1 points0 points  (3 children)

We are not a shit hole country

    [–]WyldRyce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    [–]Weary_Specialist_436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not complete shithole, but getting there

    [–]shwambzobeeblebox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said in another post you weren’t going to reveal what country you’re from. Whoops.

    [–]shwambzobeeblebox -1 points0 points  (8 children)

    What defines ‘the nation’?

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] 1 point2 points  (7 children)

The culture, the people, and borders

    [–]shwambzobeeblebox 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Okay, but within a nations’s defined border there is always a great deal of variation and diversity in culture and oftentimes with the people as well. Religion is often considered an aspect of culture. Do all of the religions practiced in a nation qualify as being part of the nation’s culture?

Are immigrants included in ‘the people’? Are the children? What about their grandchildren? What are the requirements for citizens to be included in this ‘the people’ group?

And when we talk about Fascism, we’re talking about an ideology that from the very beginning didn’t hold to strict borders. Mussolini’s Italy actively sought to establish colonies abroad (expanding the nations borders). Obviously, the same can be said about German fascists in the 20th century as well. So with that in mind, how does this ‘border’ category sort into your view of what the ‘nation’ really is?

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

    1. Religion should be preserved.
    2. Born here, Mussolini makes it very clear that there will be immigration into the country.
    3. Yes, expansion is necessary.

    [–]shwambzobeeblebox 0 points1 point  (4 children)

1- what religion? Should all religions be preserved? Should only the religions that were founded within the nation be preserved?

2-should the culture of immigrants be preserved too? How is it decided what elements of culture belong to the nation and which are foreign?

3-if expansion is necessary, then what you’re describing isn’t a universal respect of nations’ borders, cultures, and peoples but of imperialism for your specific country.

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Faiths relevant to our culture today should be preserved, one is not relevant, and mostly brought by immigration should be stomped out The state decides this And for bringing up reality when we’re discussing theory, you should know that fascist Italy is mean goal was to reunite a new Roman empire

    [–]shwambzobeeblebox 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Who holds state power? If ‘the state’ decided what is and isn’t valid, how is everyone not just at the whims of the state? How can anyone be sure they too won’t be ‘stomped out’; that the state won’t decide that they in fact don’t constitute ‘the people’?

The Roman Empire was a slave holding autocratic regime. Why would you want to reestablish that? Christianity isn’t indigenous to nearly all of the world, so should that religion be ‘stomped out’ as a foreign cultural custom?

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    1. That’s the point
    2. Absolutely, return to your ancestral roots

    [–]shwambzobeeblebox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    What’s the point?

‘Return to your ancestral roots’? So should children of parents from different countries just kill themselves since they have no single ‘ancestral root?

    [–]Erratic_-Prophet -1 points0 points  (2 children)

So what is the American culture you fit under your definition of culture? Do American Latinos fit into that culture? Do native Americans fit into that culture? Do people who are proud of their European heritage fit into that culture?

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yes. All those groups do because contrary to popular belief, fascism in the classical sense is not racial, and only became racial under pressure from the third Reich

    [–]Erratic_-Prophet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So minority culture is a part of the American culture in your definition of fascism? Can you define the American culture you're wanting to preserve? Is it the amalgamation of all cultures? In which case how do the stark contrasts between the varying cultures fit into that American culture?

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (19 children)

What is the difference in modern fascism ?

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] -4 points-3 points  (18 children)

    Answering both comments here

classical Fascism is in an economic left , r social right Ideology and that says that we divided are weak but strong under the banner

We are authoritarian, nationalistic, love our country a nation, and would love to preserve its culture

    [–]PresidentAshenHeart 0 points1 point  (6 children)

    "We are authoritarian"

Are you saying that you want to live under a king?

Are you saying that you want to be the top group that will dominate over all others?

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

I’m not a Monarchist and yes

    [–]PresidentAshenHeart 0 points1 point  (3 children)

    Okay, you're evil.

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

    Morality is subjective

    [–]PresidentAshenHeart 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What if you were in the group being oppressed? As a mixed person, you'd be right on the bottom of the totem pole.

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re completely wrong about that, classical theory teaches us so it’s not a priority of the state, real life, examples of that in Italy were because of pressure from the third reich

    [–]Weary_Specialist_436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could've just said that you want to be ruling class or the elite. That'd save all of us a lot of time and effort

if you believe in a system, you don't mind where you sit in it

it's pretty much like saying: "i endorse monarchy as long as I am the king"

    [–]Wonderland_Labyrinth 1 point2 points  (9 children)

    Where do you live?

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] -3 points-2 points  (8 children)

    I’m not telling you that?

    [–]Wonderland_Labyrinth 0 points1 point  (4 children)

    Not even country?

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

    Usa

    [–]Wonderland_Labyrinth 3 points4 points  (2 children)

The United States have more cultures than I can count. Which do you want to preserve?

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All, whether racial nationalist want to admit it or not, they are part of our culture, and should be kept

    [–]Weary_Specialist_436 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

honestly, a very good question, I'm interested myself

    [–]kdog2906 2 points3 points  (2 children)

The second "A" in AMA means "anything"...

    [–]Weary_Specialist_436 1 point2 points  (1 child)

to some extent, you're obviously not going to ask them for their street address and their credit card numbers

    [–]kdog2906 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly, so he should be able to mention the city, or at worst country, he lives in

    [–]PresidentAshenHeart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s impossible to be both economically left and socially right because being socially right means excluding those you deem against your culture from the policies and benefits of economic leftism.

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] 1 point2 points  (9 children)

    1. American culture as a whole
    2. It’s birthed my lands and it’s glory
    3. To keep order

    [–]Weary_Specialist_436 4 points5 points  (8 children)

what is "American culture", with how diverse USA is?

    [–]villian_era_witch 1 point2 points  (5 children)

True American culture would be a Native based culture. Any other culture has been introduced to America through colonialism and immigration neither are “true American”. The Americas existed far before the USA and USA is a melting pot of foreign cultures.

If I’m making the correct deduction from the replies and post this OP is a white supremacist who’s talking about preserving “white culture” which isn’t any culture specifically.

    [–]Weary_Specialist_436 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I dare say, OP is a teenager that wants to feel special, and we all did at some point. I doubt it's that extreme, but OP is chasing ghosts, with looking for that special American Culture that is at risk, while not being able to define what that American Culture even is

OP is just falling for 80 years old propaganda

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

“Young = stupid” is a terrible argument. Argument is a fallacy.

    [–]Weary_Specialist_436 0 points1 point  (1 child)

you are repeating propaganda that was proven false, and you can very easily check it for yourself, that what Mussolini said and what he did are two different things

I can account that to age, or intelligence. I prefer age, that's kinder

    [–]SapphicGarnet [score hidden]  (0 children)

    To be honest, while 'st

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

American culture would be any variant of a specific element of culture that was made here in the US and adopted among the public

    [–]Weary_Specialist_436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, such as? because it's hard for me to find any part of American culture that wasn't absorbed from emigrants

    [–]CheeseEnchilada420 -1 points0 points  (4 children)

It’s been said that trying to define fascism is like trying to nail jelly to a wall. Why do you think your definition is correct?

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] -1 points0 points  (3 children)

When it comes to me , I don’t think my definition is perfect, but it’s better than a lot of people’s

    [–]CheeseEnchilada420 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Why though. You didn’t answer my question,

    [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yes it is very hard to do

    [–]CheeseEnchilada420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for saying a lot of nothing and letting everyone know you don’t actually even know wha you believe in lol

    [–]WyldRyce -2 points-1 points  (5 children)

Is it your authority or do you prefer to be the one to submit?

    [–]PuddingTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know his type. He’s a “please tread on me daddy” guy.

First off, not what I was referring to, which means you don’t even understand the question, probably because you’re too young to even understand what you are claiming. Second, gross. Third, turn off the internet and go make some friends.

      [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] -1 points0 points  (1 child)

      1. You wrote it that way
      2. You brought that on yourself
      3. I have multiple friends and they all share my ideology.

      [–]WyldRyce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To submit to authority, you infantile imbecile.

      [–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (7 children)

I don't understand fascism can you explain (I'm a kid btw which is why I don't understand this much yet)

      [–]xX-AZREAL-Xx[S] -4 points-3 points  (6 children)

      I’m a teen myself

Then we are mortal enemies 🖕

        [–]Several-Agent6831 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you understand that history shows that allies of dictators always think they'll be safe but things often get worse?

What happens when things get bad and you don't have a democratic system to undo fascism with the only cure being violent Revolution, economic collapse resulting in change in leadership or a benevolent leader being selected?
