A Palworld mod that renames the character creation options from “Type 1” and “Type 2” to “Female” and “Male” remains available on Nexus Mods, though moderators required the author to change part of the mod’s description after determining that one sentence violated the site’s rules.
A Nexus Mods community manager contacted the author to explain that only a specific line in the description had violated the site’s Terms of Service:
According to the moderation message, the phrase “as it should be” was the issue—not the functionality of the mod itself (which is odd, because NexusMods has removed such mods before). As a result, Nexus Mods edited the description to remove the wording while leaving the mod itself available for download.
The decision has drawn attention online because Nexus Mods chose a middle-ground approach rather than banning the mod outright. Instead of treating the modification itself as a Terms of Service violation, moderators limited their action to language they considered inflammatory, allowing the mod to remain hosted after its description was revised.
For those unaware, many modern games have been removing gender from their character selection screens in favor of “type 1 and type 2” as it helps pander to the gender agenda that is pushed in the west, which claims people can “be any gender”.
