I've seen a litany of posts who's contents is now deleted about apparently there being a livestream from DingDong talks about working with them. I've tried to find the full thing but i feel lime I'm lacking a ton of context, only finding .
I don't keep any real contact with Oney, I saw his association with shadman and kept my distance. Hence why I'm asking for advise from people who are likely far more clued up than i am.
Is he brain dead and being kept on life support to protect his senate seat?
I just heard about various people criticizing YouTuber Alex Meyers:
What's happening? I mean, I never really liked the dude to begin with (he always gave me Critical Drinker-esque vibes with how much he tends to punch down on woman characters in modern films), yet many liked him before this whole fiasco, so what happened?
Just watched the Shawn Ryan interview with Tucker Carlson. Shawn looked beaten down and emotionally drained. Anyone know what's happened with him recently?
Everywhere across social media I’ve been seeing all these people complain about a new camera company saying it’s a total invasion of privacy but I’m not really sure what it is or what they are doing. Are they used by law enforcement like the cameras that capture peoples license plates to catch for warrants when you enter a new county? If they are the same thing why all of a sudden have people been outraged about this?
Edit: changed the flair to a mega thread because there is a lot of valuable discussion going on in the comments.
When I copied, it was the latest addition in and in the title it says Alive/Unalive. When and why did "unalive" start being used instead of dead? Additionally, I have seen terms like r*pe and others, instead of the spelled out version. Is this a function of social media terms of use and demonetization? Something else?
I am honestly curious of when/why this started to happen. I don't want to be the guy that keeps using the "old words" when they have been updated, aren't as accurate, or some other reason.
I do not actively follow American politics but my Reddit feed is currently mostly people celebrating this man's death.
The president of FIDE resigned today because he was apparently included in the EU's sanction list. What's going on?
I've seen a lot of news coverage about the developing of the passing of this young man, and I see much buzz (including from lots of celebrities in the Black community) implying it was a racially motivated homicide. But I haven't seen/heard anything about why that would be other than that he happened to be the only Black person in the small friend group in a racist area. (Don't get me wrong, I am not saying those factors couldn't be relevant, but when I hear a bunch of young people going to an island for a party and one ending up dead my immediate thought is boating accident or accidental drowning, so I'm confused why there seems to be so much certainty about it being foul play?) Is there actually any evidence that it might have been foul play? Does the family have a specific suspicion about what happened, or is it a more general (but still valid!) feeling of too many unknowns and vehemently demanding better investigation?
These protests have been going on for quite sometime ever since the new president Prabowo Subianto has came into power. I would like an insight into what these protests are all about.
Why did people on X start referring to (I think) Educated America versus Rural/Red State America as “America A” and “America B”? For example and From what I could find, it came from an article, but why is everyone saying it now?
Who is he in relation to her? How does she justify this wedding invitation while also coming across as a liberal political supporter? Is she done with the liberal facade now that she's a billionaire (hence the recent switch back to country)?
I only hear about her on Reddit. Which is usually too much as it is about her.
I’ve seen this smiley face thing online, I’m guessing it’s some kind of creepy pasta/ARG. I’m just trying to figure out who is this guy and where did he come from? Does he come from a specific piece of media like a video game or a show, or is he just an internet sensation like Tung Tung Tung Sahur?
I keep seeing drawings of Jimothy and tattoos and crocheted Jimothies but I don't know what started all this.
I've been seeing Prescription Drug Affordability Boards (PDABs) mentioned more often lately, including in this article:
From what I can tell, some states have them, some don't, and they don't all seem to have the same authority.
Why are they becoming a bigger topic lately, and what exactly do they do?
i keep seeing images and videos about students protesting in india. it is about a leak of tests, a couple of students have committed suicide over it, and they want the head of the education department to resign. but i am not entirely sure why.
Why did Argentina’s Falklands banner following the semifinal game controversial?
I apologize, I am really ignorant about this topic.
The article makes it seem like England took Argentinian land in the 1770s and they’ve tried to reclaim it… I’m not really sure why this is controversial. Please don’t get upset at my ignorance! I really want to understand the background
ETA: thank you so much!!! You all really helped and I understand the background more than
I’ve noticed a recent wave of posts against the Argentinian team. I’m curious, what’s the reason behind the negative sentiment towards Argentina’s advancement to the finals?
What's with all the sudden hate this movie is getting?
for context
I've been hyped for this movie ever since Oppenheimer (even have 70mm booked) and now that the new trailer dropped I've seen everyone shitting on it. And I absolutely don't see the reason why. Like sure some of the casting choices (mainly Holland) aren't the best, but to garner 250K dislikes, what happened?
I’m not Indian and I have no particular opinions amount their domestic politics, though I’m vaguely aware that their PM Modi is somewhat controversial on Reddit. However, I’m seeing multiple posts in Reddit‘s Popular feed today showing protests and calls for his resignation.
Is this normal for India, or did something significant happen over there in the last day or two?
Posts that showed up in my feed:
I have been seeing memes of Hatsume Miku being won in world cup recently what's up with that
As above. I’ve seen a lot more posts about this since the house passed the budget rec. I get that the concern is voter suppression but can’t you just bring a drivers license? Also yes I understand it is tedious to get one and costs money but I feel like that is a very small minority of people disenfranchised compared to the benefit of no trading stocks (though the president should be included in this for sure).
Thanks in advance, this isn’t meant to stir up drama or be my own opinion. I just try to stay informed on issues and that gets difficult the more politicized something is.
Edit: first off thank you everyone for your thoughts on the bill! There were a lot of great points that I didn’t know or I was flat out wrong on. Especially save act vs save America act. That was a real kick in the pants to realize. Alright ya’ll have a great rest of your day and thank you mods once again!
Video names like "Angry Birds Movie [ 4K 60fps ] ( Best right-wing propaganda movie ever )" are popping up everywhere.
Even our youtube feed has it now, it seems that everyone this week just suddenly got the entirety of the angry birds 2016 movie on their youtube feed, uploaded by a ton of various accounts. Clearly copyright illegal but how is this trend reaching so many people at the same time? Is this some hack, or internet meme going on?
The comments are hilarious though
For example:
So this is something I kinda saw last week, but I was going through YT shorts and saw how Ari Thrash (VA for a GI character soon I think?) was blowing up a bit because of her behavior whenever the character Kinich showed up on her stream and she's been called out for it for being unprofessional.
So what is the actual context behind this? Is it because she is petty about the character? Is it her shitting on the fact that Kinich was recasted iirc, or is it VA hate, like did the new Kinich VA do something?
I'm vaguely aware of what Wordle is but I don't know what the controversy is, and when I google it I get results from years ago. Are the Wordle Devs racist or smth?
Please help, thanks!
(Edited to clear up my question)
Suddenly he and his brother are arrested in one of the highest security prisons or something? From an accusation coming over the UK, apparently. What are the crimes levied against them? I hadn't heard about them in a while.
What I know: OpenAI is the ChatGPT company and they... hacked HuggingFace? Or something? I don't know what that second one is, I don't know what ChatGPT did exactly and I don't understand what's so serious about it
I don't really follow the AI space that much, but I keep seeing these 3 mentioned together, so I'm wondering what's going on
This video just popped up in my feed but I'm not sure what the difference is between regular Catholics and SSPX Catholics, and why are SSPX excommunicated? The first minute of video said the SSPX purports to preserve the true tradition of the church while the current Vatican isn't. Who's the arbiter to decide who's right?
I don't understand, days ago we thought he was dead, today a picture was released as his proof of life, but reddit started making memes out of it, while news outlets don't mention any sort of image manipulation.
I get that people don't like mass surveillance, but there have been surveillance cameras all over cities and suburban areas for decades. I'm assuming Flock is a name brand, because I've never heard surveillance cameras called this until the past year or so. Why are people making such a big deal about these cameras specifically? Are they doing something new that surveillance cameras haven't done in the past?

I recently received tons of notifications that I have very little storage space on my phone and PC. I have deleted and cleaned up my phone, PC, Google drive, etc., but it does not help. My phone is Android (Samsung). It seems Google is lumping everything together and trying to sell more space.
I know that there was a bunch of drama around Caitlin Clark over the last year, namely around people recognizing that she’s very, very good and therefore a pattern of strategically fouling her (much like how opponents would foul Michael Jordan of the 1990s Chicago Bulls).
But why is Congress getting involved, and what did they actually do? The article from The Ringer talks about it, sort of, but doesn’t provide much in the way of what the Republican Study Committee is, why they’re suddenly interested in the WNBA, or what they want to happen.
From the article:
> In failing to address concerns around player safety, refereeing, and online discourse, the league has allowed bad-faith actors to use those issues as a Trojan horse to tell a story about the WNBA as a league in which liberal institutional failures run amok.
So what’s actually going on that’s attracting Congress’s attention?
Update: Answered, I guess!
I see these kinds of drawings everywhere, but I don't know why. At first I thought it was a trend, but it has never really died down, I've been seeing this for over a year. I then assumed this was some kind of fetish, but a lot of seemingly sfw artist do it. If people just find it cute to draw anime girls eating food then why is it always burgers specifically? I'm just wondering what all of this is for.
I saw in the news and on Reddit these past few weeks how it seems that Sony and PlayStation are ending physical disc sales and consumers are super pissed.
Why is this happening? What made Sony arrive at this policy? How much does more expensive chips/hardware or global tariffs etc have to do with it?
Am I wrong in my read that the console video game industry has been massively struggling these past few years?
I keep seeing this trend on social media, especially X/Twitter but I've seen it pretty much everywhere, of people taking about men, usually in a negative way, while censoring the word itself, as if it was an insult or a slur.
I get these people who write it usually do it with negative connotations, but why censor it? It's not a slur, not a word that gets flagged by automods, nor is something that usually gets searched, so I can't understand the need to censor it.
It keeps baffling me.
Title. I've been hearing a lot about it recently but I have no idea who any of these people are or what's the purpose of it.
I've seen a few other posts like this lately, did something big happen?
I've seen a lot of "X if it was written by gooseworks" posts recently, especially on yt, and I don't know why. I thought that most of the fans liked tadc, it has good scores on most platforms I've looked on. Did something happened, is most of it just shitpost or genuine slander?
I reckon we all just collectively boycott Big Lettuce, but whats the story behind it?
Sean had posted another video where he asks Bud light to do the right thing and keep him accountable.
Can anyone explain?
I remember following the story when the allegations first came out in 2020 and then seeing he resurfaced under the name Neso at an NFT startup in 2022 before getting removed again. After that I can't find anything. Did he just disappear completely? Is he still in the UK? Anyone know what he's been up to?
Used in the same way as that Family Guy joke "Pepperridge Farm remembers."
In the past week I've seen "petridge farms" mentioned 3 times on 3 different websites, and everyone always likes/upvotes it, it never gets corrected, and "petridge" is not an autocorrect result so these people are all typing it manually. I have to assume it's a real thing since "Petridge farm" is getting mentioned more than pepperridge farm these days.
Age restricted?
Anyone else noticed that normal or just informing posts are getting age restricted?? Like no NSFW or anything close, but normal posts, about information like about TV time being close down, someone PS 4 Screensaver screenshot and cartoon characters just smiling?? It's like it's broken
Like this a video of a cat being cuddly! Why is it age restricted??
Why is it so popular with kids (and adults apparently)? Does it feel any different from any other latex squishy?
I'm scrolling down this thread and nobody has a description on how it feels different from other squishies? Or, if it's the same as all the others, why this one went viral?
I get a lot of posts from recommended to me, and lately all I seem to see are posts about old men swooning over AI clickbait pics of Sandra Bullock.
Like. Why her specifically? Why so many? Why now?
What is happening?
Obligatory url, this is the latest post I've seen
Added some URLs as a sampling, but my front page, despite not being subscribed to any tennis related subreddits seem to be full of Novak Djokovic PR positive press push.
I don't follow tennis, which is why I'm confused at the number of posts about him on my timeline. Is he about to undergo some kind of hall of fame process, or needing the public to forget his anti-vaccine stance?
Anyway linking to some of the posts about him recently, but there are a ton more.
I keep seeing references to “folk valley” on the internet and I don’t know what they mean. I read this article and now I’m even more confused because this article references more memes that I am unaware of such as the “TikTok Farlands” memes and the “folk” memes. Can someone more online than me please explain what this meme is about? Thank you!
Are these sequels Are these sequels prequels remakes, prequels, remakes, different names on different platforms? Lay it on me (please)!
And I swear there are some nit listed there... and it sounds like "remake" isn't even really just a remake...
Just click to his channel and see his latest upload. I was appalled by this. When did he change?
