I am literally the kind of immigrant Japan says they look for. Went to college, speak English and Japanese, pay taxes, follow rules, white collar. And even I’m getting pushed out. Anyone who like me 15 years ago wanted to get in the anime industry here, I cannot recommend it.

country and economy, and yet they’re being forced out. It’s frustrating because Japanese people generally speaking are nice to me as a foreign immigrant on a personal level, and say I’m welcome, and I believe them. But then they cheer on policies and leaders who want me out.
