It is amazing how low Josh's standards have fallen after years of making this show. Having subtitles match the dialogue is enough to impress him now.

"We talk to the strongest bits of rope." "It doesn't matter, you are Bless, this is Unleashed, now go unleash your bless." His commentary is gold 😆

If there's one thing that amazes me about this game it's that the voiceover artist for the intro was able to put emotional gravitas into her performance despite the fact the script was a series of completely nonsensical statements jammed together.

The company behind Bless Unleashed was afraid of Josh killing their game so they banned all variants of his name.

i think the audio balancing is quite realistic if you're the solider at the very back of the formation listening to some leader you never met in person give some speech and you're like "i dunno wtf he just said but okay RAHHHHH!!!"

11:08 quick correction, the symbols above player's head is actually Chinese and it says "懒得想名字啊" which translate into "too lazy to think of a name" for both his guild and his player name. 233 at the end means laughing in Chinese Internet slang (kinda like lol in English), imagine the 2 as the butt and 33 as the gas. That dungeon at the end broke my heart. That's 100% a quit moment. When you queue into a dungeon expecting group content only to become a tourist watching someone over double your level oneshot everything.

I'm honestly just super impressed by Josh's ability to come up with a hundred different subtitles for this game.

Sometimes I miss an episode of Worst MMO Ever because I thought I already saw it because all these MMOs are so generic, I can't tell them apart. It's like finding 10$ in an old pair of pants when I find an episode I missed. Josh is the most super special magic awesome YouTuber~

Josh: "Is this really the level of company representation you want when reading a legal document?" Me: Absolutely

His dungeon experience actually made me really sad. You could really feel his disappointment without him saying anything during the clip

The running joke of Josh saying the name of the MMO more and more wrong each time gets so funny by the end that I can hardly hold in my giggles!

"When you start valuing jokes more than making content that fits your game, your game turns into a container for jokes, and, eventually, the jokes overflow the content and the game becomes one massive joke itself." I really wish more content creators would have figured this out by now.

"He challenges Deanna to roll initiative. This doesn't seem too bad until he explains they'll be playing 4th Edition and then we all start panicking." The delivery on this absolutely sent me.

The developer of this game is Round8 and they actually redeemed themselves by making Lies of P after this game.

I enjoy this series, but I feel like it has somewhat become an exercise in Josh Strife Hayes trying to come up with as many ways as possible of explaining the mediocrity of modern gaming. I don't know of another channel that has so many comparisons and similes for the experience of "okay." 😄 Keep up the great work as always, though. 👍

As someone who lives on the coast in scotland, the seagull quest is very accurate. Seagulls are the rats of the sky and if you do not have any edible offerings for them - or if you withhold your food from them - they will attack without prejudice. One almost tore my thumb off in its quest to steal the piece of mango that was on the end of my wooden knife, then it stood there with the knife in its beak, my blood dripping from its feathers, and stared at the rest of my fruit. All I could do was run away. (this is a dramatised version of a real thing that happened to me lmao, I understand the girl's fear 🤣)

Fun fact, in the character creator on the xbox version, don't know about the rest, but we have a sort of character modeler, meaning you can move just about every part of whoever you've made to do funny poses, and I have made something in it that, ever time I looked at it,I'd break down laughing. Great times, 10/10

"His son Giovani has dreams of catching animals in small magical orbs and then making them fight to the death." Absolutely perfect.

The fact i cant stop watching reviews about games i couldn't care less about is a testament of Josh's charisma. Genuinely entertaining personality. I'm sure you were the favorite teacher :D

Fun fact: you can skip that 15 second cut scene if you wait in the doorway, as long as someone walks in and gets the cutscene everyone else can attack and completely kill Klu before it ends.

Alright... the comedy and writing for this episode was on point. Well done sir.

For me, when I first installed Bless Unleashed earlier this year, it automatically put me on the Korean servers. You have to change the server on the launcher - the EU community was vaguely helpful, and they go around killing the bosses quite regularly when there's a callout in chat.

This looks pretty mechanically impressive for an mmo, in particular I liked that some guy randomly helps you with that wolf, presumably because he was also doing the quest and you could both do it easier. The dynamic instance is also very impressive. It's a shame it doesn't have enough oomph to stick the landing, would love an mmo where the world isn't completely dead v:

I felt the disappointment as soon as that dungeon run happened. Any MMO I've tried to get into that allowed higher level players to just run it through with the new players, the fun immediately disappears. I've got my head tilted, resting in hand, clicking to keep up, doing nothing, and waiting for it to be over. Awful experience, and a definite quit moment for me.

At 11:25, that was either Japanese or Chinese names, there was no Korean in those. This might also explain the lag as most of the time servers will be assigned to the area they are actually physically NEAR, and if there are people from the other side of the world on a server, there likely are no separate servers so you were likely playing on a server located in Asia.
15
The actual dungeon itself seemed pretty cool, with the kitchen theme and unique enemy designs, its just a shame it wasn't scaled at all and was being run by bots There's something uniquely sad about good design in an MMO going to waste like this

Finally, the return of this lovely series.

0:19 sounds like a barbarian teacher, if they have those in DnD or something.

It sucks how badly this game failed cuz visually it's stunning for an MMO, and combat looks great on the surface as well.

Regarding 39:06 : In my experience the only MMOs where people sit and kill the mobs are the ones that force the group to kill the mobs before they can move forward through various barriers. Even in GW2 fractals people just run past enemy groups because it's faster and it makes for garbage first time runs for people when match making. It's like every MMO is stuck in the past and nobody wants to have discussions on how to move forward with some of the obvious flaws that exist for at least 2 decades now.

15:42 Honestly, refreshing to see that the starter mount isn't the usual horse.

I thought Josh already mentioned before that he thinks early game raids/dungeons are a good idea since it gives people an idea what end game would be like.

The scripts are always good, but this one was just perfection. Clearly the writing was much more whelming than the game it was about. Nicely done. 👏

Talking about story and the downward rollercoaster, I think FFXIV does it perfectly. Without spoiling anything, there's a balance between story threads; you do one story then you have to stop because you and your friends can't progress until something is done, so they send you to help someone else (that more often than not conveniently happens to pop up just as you finish the first thing, but we'll ignore that). And the writers do a great job making everything feel important. Combating an ancient race of dimension ripping mages? Amazing. Helping solve civil unrest? Amazing. Literally raiding a tomb for fun? Amazing. etc, etc. Villains feel humanized and you can relate and sympathize with the vast majority of them. The world has a noticeable equivalent exchange. Things usually can't just happen. They have to follow the worlds rules.

I love how he keeps saying a different name after Blessed ever time he says the name. 😆
