Quoted from LTG:Or the movie Howard The Duck.
That was my first thought.
What the Duck?! = "Big Trouble"
Duck sent IN an email = "in"
Little Duck -> Peking Duck = "Little China"
Quoted from dboeren:Duck Tales or Darkwing Duck?
Based on the email, every game will have it's own themed rubber duck. So maybe Grease? 80s band? Some other 80s theme related to a leather jacket? Should know Monday.
Rubber Duck was the CB handle of Martin Penwald (Kris Kristofferson) in the movie Convoy. We're getting a trucker pinball!
Quoted from JustEverett:Based on the email, every game will have it's own themed rubber duck.
I patiently wait my Winchester Mystery House Duck.
LTG : )
I think the idea is that each game has a duck plus this one is just a generic non-game-specific duck for club members. It's not for any specific game, so it provides no hint on what the next game is. If it was for a game, its theming would give it away.
Quoted from Shapeshifter:From those clues - B-52's?
With a sci-fi theme?
Oh man, a B-52s pin would be fun. Or a Cramps one

Quoted from Severian:Amazing how out-of-the-blue these emails are. A cruise? Rubber ducks? What's next?!
Cruise + 80’s could mean a few things:
- William Friedkin’s 1980 movie w/ Al Pacino “Cruising” (not likely but somewhat fits the clues)
- A Tom Cruise film from the ‘80’s (Take your pick, there’s a bunch)
- My leading candidate based on current speculation: “Rock of Ages” pin, based on the 2012 film with Tom Cruise that takes place during the hair-metal-heydays of ‘80’s Hollywood.
For the record, “Wanted, Dead or Alive” is performed in the film / musical.
All this secrecy and riddles is exhausting. Im not going to read or post here anymore until its official.
See you guys tomorrow.

If you're reaching for Tom Cruise connections and Barrels Reserve context, the movie Cocktail was sitting right there for you.
Quoted from Whistles:He technically only denied designing it- not that he was not working on it in any capacity. He did the sound on the last MM title.
For the record, I am a huge DCC fan and am not working on the pinball machine in any capacity. Also, I would never drop hints at a project I was working on. That would be poor form. I would never break an NDA for social media likes... Haha
Do I mess with people from time to time? Sure!

As is ‘Outsiders’. ‘Risky Business’, ‘Taps’, etc…
‘Rock of Ages’ jives with the Bon Jovi / Music Pin nonsense that’s populated this thread for the better part of three days now.
Quoted from amos:miami vice or saved by the bell
The duck kind of reminds me of that too. Or maybe Ferris Bueller
IMG_3904 (resized).pngQuoted from dts:Still hoping for The Muppets with a Statler and Waldorf topper!
That is my most likely guess. Checks a lot of boxes.
-Everyone has a connection to it
-It contains retro music, can consider it a music pin
-50th anniversary incoming fast at September 2026. If someone is going to make it Barrels would likely be the best fit, they did justice to Labyrinth IP
No second option for topper. I agree Statler and Waldorf topper or go home. They would be great animatronics to narrate/heckle the player on their successes and failures

Well with this bombshell, now I'm back to thinking BoF may have DCC! I told my distro if DCC is BOF's next, I want one. My hope is renewed.
Quoted from Atari_Daze:Marty McFly is always being accused of being yella by his nemesis Biff, baby ducks are yellow, it's a BTTF remake finally.
I don't want this to be it - but I think several people on this thread would be thrilled ...
The 1970 hit Rubber Duckie performed by Ernie

Quoted from DexterHugo:The 1970 hit Rubber Duckie performed by Ernie
I had that same thought!
Quoted from Atari_Daze:I had that same thought!
I'm really hoping you're right with the BTTF! That could be a blast!
Quoted from LTG:I'm at work.

Me too. I check Pinside in between patients.

Must be a proctologist !
Ok, looking at latest clues.
Cruise, duck with sunglasses.
Top Gun movie?
Lots of jeeps in the Tom Cruise Mission Impossible movies.
Top Gun - 80's bands.
Quoted from Atari_Daze:Marty McFly is always being accused of being yella by his nemesis Biff, baby ducks are yellow, it's a BTTF remake finally.
I kinda resigned myself to Dutch Pinball doing BTTF. Although, would love to be wrong and have BOF do this instead. At least we get to see and play it much faster.

Correction - missed the part about them retroactively doing ducks fur previous releases

lol.. damn if he says something ..damn if he doesn't ...but you may be right
My wife will be happy if it is Dungeon Crawler Carl or Bon Jovi, because we are saving money on new pinball machines this year!
Big Trouble in Little China, Muppets with S+W topper, anything with Superman...I'm buying.
The practical takeaway here is you better sign up for Barrels Reserve before it closes tomorrow: https://www.barrelsoffun.com/2026/07/20/barrels-reserve-memberships-closing-soon/
Barrels doesn’t strike me as company that will release a full on flop. I could see some people kicking themselves for not signing up.
