He pled not guilty because it his (and everyone's) constitutionally protected right. He is innocent until proven guilty by a jury of his peers. If you are ever in legal trouble, you will be thankful for this.

It's probably gone this far because this guy knows exactly who you are. Oh, a random person started flirting with me online? It's 2026, we all know that's either a bot or a honey pot.

Also, nothing he does or says to you will be able to be used in court, as many, many many people have told you. There are rules to how evidence must be collected, proof about who was using the account, etc and ANY doubt will seen it thrown out or worse, used against YOU by the defense.

It is, because the fact is you have very likely damaged your case here and it is very apparent to everyone reading your responses that you do not grasp that. People are taking time out of their day to provide you feedback on a complicated legal topic, and you are pushing back on every single response.

The fact is: what you did was not smart, you should stop immediately, talk to ONLY YOUR LAWYER ABOUT THIS, AND DO ONLY WHAT THEY ADVISE.

I wrote that last part all in caps because you need to listen to it.

No, they are saying that based on YOUR actions, the defense is now open to say that you are framing an innocent man. Because that man is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The law can be very exacting, and you are interpreting that clarification people are trying to provide you as an attack. It is not, they are merely framing their responses within the framework of how the law works. Sometimes that can come across as dispassionate, but it is important to be exacting and correct when working with the law.

I really hate it when people misconstrue straight answers as rude. The comment responder was not rude to you, in fact they are taking their own personal time to give you free legal advice.

Also you stop being the victim when you start voluntarily interacting with the accused. If this goes to court, I hope his defense doesn't put things together and link your FB to the case, because that's exactly what they are going to say and you won't have much of a leg to stand on. Stop interacting with the defense and listen to your lawyer.
