Flutter 4.0 Doesn’t Exist Yet — Here’s What Google Actually Shipped Instead
Everyone’s writing about “Flutter 4.0.” Almost none of them checked the source. Here’s the real state of Flutter in 2026 and why it matters more than the rumor.
The rumor mill is loud. The changelog isn’t.
And if you’ve been googling “Flutter 4.0” then you may have seen that there was talk of Impeller 2.0, Dart 4. x, and AI-native workflows. Sounds exciting. Google doesn’t confirm either.
Real paper trail : Flutter official docs (last updated date May 29, 2026) state the clearly that current stable release is Flutter 3.44. While Google’s public roadmap for 2026 says that they promise four stable releases it doesn’t say what a version-4 looks like. 0 branding change. As one of the framework’s own community trackers said, “Google has not announced or shipped Flutter 4.0.”
