Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's wedding 'was a crazy experience'

Jack Sock found attending Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's wedding to be a "crazy experience".
The 33-year-old Olympic medallist is a long-time friend of Travis and he's opened up about his experience of attending the star-studded event at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 3.
Speaking to Pickleballdotcom, Jack shared: "It was an unbelievable experience.
"It was everywhere from comedic relief to obviously tears for a lot of people. Great times, good energy, obviously, always gonna have that with Travis, who I've known for a long time now.
"It was a cool experience. A lot of people watching, as I'm sure you all know, amazing singing performances by different people, [Taylor] included, which was really fun to see."
Jack admitted it was a surreal experience to rub shoulders with so many A-list celebrities.
The former tennis player said: "It was just one of the hallways they had at the cocktail hour, and there was just, 'cause you're kind of shoulder to shoulder with everybody, Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johansson, Charlize Theron, Brad Pitt, you're just going down the road and you're standing there waiting. It was just a crazy, crazy experience."
Jack also admitted that the event surpassed his own expectations.
He said: "We were gone probably hours before a lot of people, but, yeah, it was fun. It was fun.
"It was unbelievable in so many ways. It was different than I was expecting maybe in some ways. So, overall it was just a crazy experience."
Earlier this month, a source claimed that Taylor and Travis' wedding guests created an "electric energy" inside Madison Square Garden.
The star-studded guest list - which included the likes of Gigi Hadid, Emma Stone, Tom Hanks, Ed Sheeran, Tom Brady, Selena Gomez, Sabrina Carpenter, and Patrick Mahomes - combined to create an unforgettable atmosphere inside the world-famous indoor arena.
A friend of the couple explained to People: "Everywhere you looked, there were stars, one more famous than the next. But it wasn't like a typical Hollywood party - everyone was so down-to-earth.
"Stars talked to family friends and were gawking just as much about the vibe and saying how happy they were to be there. There was an electric energy in the room."

3 anti-aging skincare products a dermatologist 'always recommends' to patients

Instead of "doing 100 different things," these science-backed anti-wrinkle serums, creams and moisturizers are worth adding to your cart.

Dermatologist Dr. Renita Ahluwalia says these skincare staples are "universal to everyone." (Photos via Amazon, Sephora and La Roche-Posay)

Anti-aging skincare won't turn back the clock, but using the right products can help slow down the passage of time. Skincare aficionados often tout the benefits of wrinkle creams, plumping serums and youth-preserving eye creams, but according to Dr. Renita Ahluwalia, the lead Dermatologist at the Canadian Dermatology & Plastic Surgery Centre, a pared-back skincare regimen is oftentimes the way to go.

So many skincare products, anti-aging and otherwise, are "not backed by science," Ahluwalia tells Yahoo Canada. There is "no evidence" that they work. If you're going to spend the money on skincare, "invest in things that are backed by science and are good quality."

Instead of "doing 100 different things" and over-complicating your routine, Ahluwalia recommends three products that are "universal to everyone:" Sunscreen, vitamin C serum and retinol.

Sunscreen

"I'm always surprised when [dermatology patients] want to try different treatments, but they're not wearing sunscreen every day." Forgoing daily sunscreen is a "very poor return" on your beauty investments, Ahluwalia says. The majority of photoaging comes from sun damage and exposure, so sunscreen is a "non-negotiable."

The average woman spends nearly $1,000 on beauty each year. But if you're not applying daily sunscreen, "you're not going to get the results" you want.

Skipping sunscreen and lying in tanning beds are some of the biggest skincare mistakes people make, Ahluwalia warns. If you want healthy skin, never leave your home without applying "at least an SPF 30."

"If you have issues with pigmentation in your skin, which a lot of us do, especially as we get older, I usually like a mineral-tinted sunscreen because the tint contains iron oxide, which is a visible light filter," she says.

La Roche-Posay's Anthelios Mineral One SPF 50 Tinted Face Sunscreen has a 100 per cent mineral filter for high UVA-UVB broad-spectrum daily protection. It's suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin, and is oil-free and non-comedogenic.

This 100 per cent reef-safe mineral sunscreen has a clean formula with 15 per cent non-nano zinc oxide that contains no chemical sunscreen actives.

Vitamin C serum

Another staple in your skincare routine should be a "really good" vitamin C serum. A well-formulated vitamin C serum "can really improve your skin's ability to neutralize free radicals, so it boosts your sunscreen and protects your skin, kind of like an environmental shield," Ahluwalia says.

If you're in the market for a vitamin C serum, Ahluwalia suggests looking for those that have undergone the most studies and meet a threshold called the "Duke Parameters."

The Duke Parameters dictate that a vitamin C serum should contain pure L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C), have an acidic pH between 2.0 and 3.5, and be at a concentration of 10 to 20 per cent. Why? These parameters mean the serum will be the "most effective" and penetrate the skin the best.

Vichy's vitamin C serum is a great mid-priced option.

Retinol

"I always recommend a retinol or something in the retinoid family, whether it's prescription grade or cosmeceutical," Ahluwalia tells Yahoo Canada.

"Something that suits a patient's skin type to maximize results because retinols are one of the most studied ingredients in dermatology; they do a lot of different things. They help increase cell turnover. They help with collagen stimulation. They help with fine lines and wrinkles. They can help with pigmentation."

Many medical-grade retinol products are covered by prescription drug plans, which, if you can tolerate them, is a great, more affordable option than a lot of in-store alternatives. However, if you want to avoid prescriptions, Ahluwalia recommends steering clear of derivatives and opting for "pure" retinol formulations instead.

"Neutrogena has some nice options," she says. "They have capsules and they have an overnight cream."

Each fragrance-free capsule contains a precise dose of pure retinol.

This retinol night cream targets the look of deep wrinkles and stubborn dark spots.

Avoid these common skincare mistakes

One of the most common blunders Ahluwalia sees in her practice is overcomplicated skincare routines.

"You want to use products that are tailored toward your skin type," she says. "Going with trends is not the right thing to do. Invest in good quality products that work and invest in procedures that work because that's going to give you long-term benefits for the skin."

In addition to skipping sunscreen and using tanning beds, Ahluwalia recommends avoiding manicures that are cured with UV light. "They're very damaging to the skin," she says.

Instead of skipping your manicure entirely, she recommends manicures that are "cured with LED light or just a regular manicure or dip nails."

Hate flossing? This Waterpik with 68,000+ reviews completely changed everything — and it's on sale for 50% off

This cordless gadget can help improve gum your gum health in just minutes a day.

This Waterpik Cordless Water Flosser is under $100 right now — here's why I think it's an absolute must-have (Photos via Melina Brum).

Flossing can be tedious, but it's essential to keeping our gums and teeth healthy and clean. Luckily, there's a gadget that's completely overhauled my oral hygiene routine without hassle — it's simple, fast and effective: the Waterpik Cordless Water Flosser, which is currently on sale on Amazon Canada.

Quick shop:

So, if you're wondering about the pros and cons, I've laid them out for you below. Keep scrolling to take a closer look and see if this flosser is for you — plus, shop more oral care deals.

The cordless Waterpik has helped make my oral-care routine much more effortless.

Waterpik review: The details, pros and cons

The Waterpik has honestly made flossing way more approachable. I won't lie — I thought it was too good to be true, but knowing it removes up to 99.9 per cent of plaque makes me feel confident. And it's even proven to be 50 per cent more effective than regular floss (crazy, right?). Plus, it's the only water flosser with the ADA (American Dental Association) Seal of Acceptance, which is reassuring.

Why is this a great option? Well, aside from benefiting people who don't enjoy traditional flossing, it can also assist people with a disability, braces, implants or other dental work.

Pros 👍

  • It has three pressure settings: I appreciate that I can customize my cleaning because some spots are more sensitive than others. Plus, some areas need more force (like tighter gaps and wisdom teeth).

  • It's waterproof: I don't have to worry about getting water all over it (because it will happen while using it). And I can use it in the shower! You might not think you'll do this, but hey, why not?

  • It's cordless and compact: I love that it doesn't have a cord because I could foresee that stressing me out while trying to use it. Plus, it charges quickly with a magnetic connection (which is pretty snazzy). It's also perfect for travel, mainly because of its compact design and included accessories.

  • It replaces flossing: As mentioned, I'm not the biggest fan of flossing. However, since owning this water flosser, there hasn't been a day I've gone without it. It fits into my daily routine perfectly, and I don't dread using it. It has been a game-changer.

Cons 👎

  • It's messy: When putting this device to use, be sure to have a towel nearby because it might get a little wet. Water does tend to spray, but once you get the hang of it (and keep your head over the sink!), it's fine.

  • Doesn't hold a lot of liquid: Since I opted for the cordless version, the water reservoir is a lot smaller. I typically fill it up twice to ensure a thorough cleaning. It's kind of a pain, but not something that deters me from it.

  • It takes a while to charge: While it holds a decent charge for days at a time, I do notice it takes a few hours to reach a full charge. It's not a huge deal, just a little inconvenient at times.

What other people are saying about it

🦷 " A dental game-changer — five stars without a doubt!"

Many shoppers, like me, praise this product. "My dentist recommended this and I use it every day now," writes one person. They confirmed the "noise level is good" and the design makes it "easy to handle."

Another customer said it "truly revolutionized" their "dental care routine." They said it has made their "teeth and gums healthier than ever before."

"This works well to clean hard-to-reach teeth," shares another person. However, they said it "does take getting used to using!" They also warn to "lean over the sink" while using it.

"My hygienist noticed a huge improvement in the health of my gums," writes a fourth reviewer. They also shared, "I found it a bit bulky to maneuver at first but I quickly got over that."

My final thoughts

If you dislike flossing or find it hard to commit to, I highly suggest the Waterpik Cordless Water Flosser — especially while it's on sale. It's quick, effective and totally easy to integrate into your routine.

However, if you find the water reservoir too small and want to avoid refills, you can opt for the original Waterpik with a larger tank, which is also marked down right now. Either way, you'll see an improvement in your dental care (and your gums will thank you later!).

The Gist

  • Kylie Kelce is sharing new details about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding.

  • She shared rare comments on her relationship with her new sister-in-law in a July episode of her "Not Gonna Lie" podcast.

  • Kylie's husband Jason previously confirmed that the couple's four daughters served as flower girls during the Madison Square Garden ceremony.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially family after their star-studded Madison Square Garden wedding. However, according to sister-in-law Kylie Kelce, the "Love Story" singer was already an honorary part of the Kelce clan before she said, "I do." The "Not Gonna Lie" podcast host—who is married to Travis's older brother Jason—shared a rare glimpse into her close relationship with Swift as she revealed new details about the couple's super-secret nuptials.

Kylie was still basking in the afterglow of the two-day celebration as she returned to her podcast on July 23. The 34-year-old has been notoriously tight-lipped about the iconic celebration, but she gave fans a peek into the "intimate" wedding ceremony as she congratulated the newlyweds.

"I would like to say congratulations to Tay and Trav, it was magical," she said on Thursday's podcast episode. "I'm so happy for them, [and I] love them so, so dearly." Kylie also spoke about Swift's tight bond with the Kelces, adding, "It was only making it official because Taylor's been family now for quite some time, so that's that."

The mom-of-four—who shares daughter Wyatt, 6; Elliotte, 5; Bennett, 3; and Finnley, 1, with her retired football player husband—hinted that Swift and Travis plan to share more about their big day in the future. "Anything else you can check in with Taylor and Travis about because any of the details they want to share, they can share. Otherwise, it was intimate and incredible and full of love—both for each other and everybody else's love for them," she concluded.

As much as the "Opalite" singer and Travis's wedding was an A-list event with an estimated 1,000 guests in attendance, it was also a family affair. Swift's brother Austin reportedly served as her Man of Honor at the ceremony, while Kylie and Jason's four daughters embraced their role as flower girls.

How Travis Kelce’s Wedding Band Nods to Taylor Swift’s Engagement Ring

THE RUNDOWN

  • Travis Kelce debuted his yellow gold wedding band the week after he and Taylor Swift got married.

  • Kelce chose a wide band with a timeless design, jewelers tell ELLE.

  • They also highlighted the way the band pays tribute to Swift's engagement ring.

While Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce haven't yet released wedding photos from their July 3 ceremony, the couple offered the first look at their new wedding rings on July 10. The newlyweds attended JuJu Smith-Schuster and Laura Kruk's wedding, and paparazzi photos—albeit from afar—captured a glimpse of their new gold wedding stacks.

Kelce has given more generous looks at his ring since. On July 20, Kelce's friend and longtime trainer Cris Carter posted a photo of the player flashing his ring. "Andrew [Spruill] and I started with Travis before his rookie year in the NFL," Carter wrote, before suggesting that Kelce would be playing his last season for the Kansas City Chiefs. "Know the 🐐 is preparing for THE LAST DANCE. Next stop Canton/HOF [Hall of Fame]."

Instagram

Kelce was also photographed working out in the gold band. Though fans haven't gotten a clear, close-up look at it, jewelers can already see that Kelce chose a timeless piece for his wedding ring.

"It's very simple," Steph Mazuera, who founded her own namesake brand that creates made-to-order engagement rings, tells ELLE. "Rather than choosing a design that makes a statement, Travis appears to have opted for a piece that will never feel dated."

The ring also subtly nods to his wife Taylor Swift's own wedding stack. Here, jewelers break down the details of the piece and why it's right on trend.

Kelce's ring is a wide band between 5 and 6 mm.

While no close-up shots have come out yet, jewelers say Kelce's ring is on the wider side. Olivia Landau, The Clear Cut's founder and CEO, believes it is a comfort fit band. "The width appears to be between 5 and 6 mm," she adds.

Hera Fine Jewelry founder and CEO Lauren Boc says it's "fairly wide," placing it at "around 6 mm or maybe a bit more."

Mazuera agrees with Landau's estimate, saying, "From what we can see, it appears to be a classic 5 to 6 mm domed band, most likely in 18K yellow gold. It's a classic style with softly rounded edges that has been a staple in men's wedding bands for decades."

It's also a trendy—and very Travis Kelce—choice, Boc says. "A substantial band is popular with our male clients seeking a more masculine or modern look, which fits with his personal style."

His choice of metal nods to his wife Taylor Swift's engagement ring.

Kelce chose yellow gold for his ring, which "matches Taylor's engagement ring," Landau says.

Mazuera adds, "The choice of a yellow gold band appears to complement the tone of Taylor's engagement ring, which is a nice way to match."

Kelce's band is estimated to be worth between $2,000 and $6,000.

Kelce's simple wedding band understandably doesn't have the price tag of his wife's more intricate engagement ring, but it is at least a couple thousand, Mazuera says. "A wedding band like this can vary significantly in price depending on who made it and how it's constructed," she explains. "With classic gold bands, much of the cost comes down to the weight and thickness of the ring. A heavier band crafted by a luxury jeweler will naturally command a higher price. I would expect a ring like this to fall somewhere in the $2,000 to $6,000 range."

The ring has a simple, timeless design, which reflects current wedding jewelry trends for men.

Landau and Mazuera both believe Kelce's band is trend-proof. "This is a timeless and classic design," Landau says.

Kelce's metal choice in particular is having a comeback moment, Mazuera says: "While alternative metals and textured finishes have become popular in recent years, there's been a renewed appreciation for traditional yellow gold. Many men are gravitating toward timeless designs that prioritize longevity over trends, and a simple domed gold band is about as enduring as it gets."
