Beresfield Public School
Beresfield Public School is located between Maitland and Newcastle. It has 12 mainstream classes and three support classes for students with disabilities. It provides extensive integration of children with disabilities into whole-school activities. The school offers a full curriculum covering the six key learning areas, with an emphasis on literacy and numeracy. Additional sporting opportunities are offered for senior students. Beresfield Public School was established in 1883. Many students have family members who attended the school in the past. It has a strong reputation in the local area and is known for its open, friendly and caring climate and its quality programs. Much of the success of the school comes from the supporting relationship between parents, students and staff. Our school motto 'Live and Learn' and our core beliefs of persistence, getting along, resilience, confidence and organisation provide a focus for all learning and behaviour. The core values of the school are honesty, respect for everyone, pride in self and school, quality teaching and learning, parent partnership in learning, responsible, well behaved students and high expectations in all school activities.
