Three people were hurt when the ceiling collapsed on diners during the supper rush at a North Carolina steakhouse, according to investigators.
It happened just after 4 p.m. Sunday at Arigato Japanese Steak and Seafood House on Bethesda Place in Winston-Salem.
Videos shared on social media show one of the injured was left incapacitated on the floor, surrounded by insulation.
“Upon arrival, EMS personnel found three patients with trauma complaints after the restaurant ceiling fell on top of them at their table,” Forsyth County government officials said in a news release.
“Two of the patients were treated at the scene and were not transported (to hospitals). One patient was transported ... to Forsythe Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment. No additional information is available at this time.”
Dozens of people were in the room when the ceiling fell, including some who rushed to help the injured patrons, videos show.
Winston-Salem is about an 80-mile drive northeast of Charlotte.
