Probably not, this time of year things get more lenient. Technically you could get fired for it, but you'd make up the time in a few hours worked anyway so just clock in as scheduled and see if anything happens

I meal prep and eat on both our 30 min breaks. I would not make it through the day if I didn't. Can't do vending machine food either bc they don't have any wheat free options for actual meals.

Do you really think anyone who made it to full time is making that kind of mistake? Sure. Maybe a little overhang, maybe a little overstuffing, but I find it incredibly hard to believe anyone who's lasted long enough to get full time makes that kind of mistake.

There's that, but I imagine job creation by tech innovations follows an s curve. Industrialization creates jobs, but eventually the jobs created will be fewer and more specialized. As jobs theoretically get automated away, they can't all be replaced. We'd end up with starving people fighting for whichever jobs weren't able to be automated away. That will result in violent change, and either the descruction of the technology or much less likely, Fully Automated Luxury Communism.

Who told you that? They're approved because they function as ear protection with volume limitations. Actual bone conducting earbuds don't even go in the ear in the first place.

Part of it is that bad actors can take advantage of a movement to benefit themselves, and part of it is that anyone can call themself something, regardless of whether or not they actually are. The Nazis called themselves socialists to take advantage of the labor movement happening. North Korea calls itself a "Democratic People's Republic" but using them as an example of a democracy would be intentionally misleading.

A democratically elected government, not an authoritarian one. There is also a difference between non-authoritarian communism and socialism. Socialism is the belief that the workers should control the means of production, however that's actually accomplished makes a different kind of socialism. The goal of communism, to my understanding is the full abolition of class and private property

Nope. When it comes to cosplay the two biggest things are a. Not doing blackface and b. Not pretending to have a disability you don't. If it's not either of those things you'll be fine in most cases.

TDR is easy enough, especially if your site uses Kindles for it instead of paper checklists. Depending on your site and department it will vary wildly how much of it you'd actually do. I haven't touched a dock door in a couple months.

That being said, the learning trainer who taught me PIT and TDR, who I trust to know what he's talking about, told me That TDR, PIT, and Amnesty are all fully voluntary roles.

Acoustic is an adjective that relates to sound. Non-electric guitars are called acoustic (because of the sound hole?). The "escalator" is just stairs, so it's "non-electric" and thus "acoustic".

The girlfriend thought the meme was calling it an Autistic Escalator, because of the use of "acoustic" as a euphemism for "autistic".

The rule is approved headphones only because they're hearing protection first. I'm not sure if y'all just have hearing loss or what because I've used both the mercenary and the in ear plugfones, and have had no issue with volume.

That being said a rule only matters if it's enforced, if management likes you they're more likely to pretend they don't see your non approved earbuds. If not you're more likely to get in trouble for it.

Starting with a high quality print is key for something like this. Achieving this level of shine with just sanding and polishing would take quite a lot of time sanding at higher and higher grits, and I'm not sure what filament would lend itself to the task. It looks to me like either a vapor smoothed piece, or a very good paint job (wich of course still requires a decent amount of sanding). I've gotten very smooth results with Acetone and ABS, but there are some safety concerns with that, and you need highly concentrated acetone for it to actually work, which may be difficult to acquire in certain regions.

One who is inelligible for the office of president is also inelligible for the office of vice president. The only currently legal pathway for someone to serve 3 terms is by being vice president, and replacing a president after 2 years in office, then being elected as president twice.

That being said, this administration has demonstrated clearly that they don't care about the law or the constitution

Find a source that doesn't include dead Nazis as victims of communism and prove intent and You'll have my agreement. That is, if you operate under the false assumption that people use those flags as justification for past actions of nations and not for ideologies. The ideologies of those waving those flags being "kill the Jews" and "People shouldn't starve" are obviously the same.

It's a vigilante murder fantasy. There's also the issue of using pedophile as a term interchangeably to refer both an attraction and a criminal offense. Pedophilia can lead to harm, and justice is required when harm occurs, however the death sentence for pedophiles is a death sentence for their victims too. Proactive justice, like therapy and voluntary chemical castration, is preferable to a dead abuser and a dead victim.

My initial reply was not meant to be fully serious either, and maybe that's on me for not using tone indicators on a circlejerk subreddit. She then said that sounding the same as every woman who voice trains is better than "sounding like a man". I took issue with that, stated as much, then she said herself that I made a fair point. In places where passing is a necessary part of your safety, and where it helps with your dysphoria, there's nothing wrong with it. I prefer my individuality to conformity and I'm willing to take the risks that come with that. All I was saying was that we don't need to hold each other to standards that shouldn't exist in the first place.

A lot of social issues are more closely related than it seems. To keep it brief, Modern social standards are often derived from those of European colonizers. The masculinization of black women by racists has an interesting intersection with the issues trans-femmes face. There's also the diverse concepts of gender that existed in some places prior to colonization. Books and video essays are a much better method of communicating these topics than reddit comments, so if you want more, look to those.

You do know women can have deep voices, right? I'd rather keep the parts of me that make me who I am than conform to the sexist white supremacist ideal of what a woman is. I can hear in other trans women's voices a similarity that doesn't exist in cis women's. That comes from voice training. If it helps with YOUR dysphoria go ahead, but do not demand the rest of us do the same.

Not "or trademark", only trademark. And no they don't have a strong case. Publishing fan-art doesn't change the fact that it's still categorically not infringement. A fan made game could be seen as a replacement for a product they make. Selling prints could even be seen as replacements for the cards. Publishing a free model, even on a website you can make money on, doesn't count.

Whole lot of armchair experts in the comments who A. Didn't actually read the full description B. Don't understand how copyright infringement works

The model maker explicitly states this model is NOT INCLUDED in the commercial license. A whole lot of you seem to for some reason think fan-art is copyright infringement. It's not. I can draw a picture of Mickey Mouse and the copyright for specifically that piece of art belongs to ME, not Disney. Only selling the model directly (or in the case of drawn art, selling prints) would be TRADEMARK infringement. Not Copyright infringement.

All that being said, the enforceability of copyright on a 3d model is very low.

Comparing guns to knives is not a good comparison. Guns let you kill from a distance, knives are much slower and require closer contact. A better comparison is cars, where you do need training AND liability insurance.

You might, emphasis on might, be able to get if off just by heating the hot end. If that doesn't do it, don't force it. You could use a hot tool with a blade attachment to get most of that off.

Ah the classic "hate speech is fine actually". How conservative of you. Not surprised though, you do seem to consider yourself a Democrat

You can claim whatever you want, doesn't make it true. He was a racist, homophobic, POS who didn't believe in empathy, who spent his last moments defending gun violence and deflecting towards gang violence and the fact that there have been ""5""(fake stat) trans shooters in the last few years. Good riddance.

Again you are literally saying they don't have enough empathy for Nazis.

(And the fact that you think Democrats are Antifascist in the slightest is proof enough we can't have an intelligent conversation)

Allowing Nazis to spew their Ideology with zero consequences just breeds more Nazis. If Nazi Ideology could be defeated in debate, we wouldn't be where we are today. It's funny to me how many people are coming out of the woodwork to defend him. People who've never said a fucking word about any other injustices now care about "political violence".

Addition: Where were these people when democratic lawmakers were murdered and republicans were cheering? Why do they only care when evil people get killed?

She lost because she failed to address economic issues in literally any way. As much as y'all like to cry about leftist not voting for her, there weren't enough third party voters to have won it for her. She tried (and failed) to reach ""moderate"" Republicans by talking about her gun and how she'd be just as tough on the border. You lost the left in the process and want to blame us when you didn't even try to get our votes. I'd say next time run a better candidate, but Democrats would rather appoint the worst possible candidate then let us actually vote for the nomiee.

Even the phone Nazis aren't usually pedantic enough to raise an issue for someone using the wrong earplug headphones. Technically they aren't allowed but unless you're on someone's shit list you should probably be fine.

Exactly this. I already have a lot of reason for disliking the VNAs, specifically because of the way they're done at my site. Adding hard hats with chin straps is just my last straw.

I just get on a bit of a crusade when I see the conflating of the flawed, but well meaning ideals of communism, with the atrocities of a state that never achieved it. Ultimately I think the conversation of how things should be is only a stepping stone to the conversation of how things could be. And before either of those conversations can even happen people need to understand their biases and the propaganda that shapes those biases.

You still seem to be missing the part where I'm not a communist. I don't think it's actually an achievable goal. I think the best we can realistically get is some form of democratic socialism (not to be confused with social democracy, I hate that those two things are named so similarly)

Trust me I think the concept of Authoritarian communism is equally as oxymoronic as the idea of Anarcho Capitalism. Communism cannot be properly delivered by an entity that centralizes power within such a small group of people. You cannot have an equal distribution of waelth and power with a government lead by the few.

I mean yeah given that the average US Citizens understanding of that history is "Commie=bad" I'd imagine Polish education covers the topic in far more detail. And to repeat, I'm neither a communist nor a defender of the actions of the USSR, I just think the refusal to separate the ideals of communism from the actions of a state that failed to carry those ideals is at worst ignorant and at best deliberate capitalist propaganda.

I understand the nature of the crimes committed against the Polish people by Nazi Germany and the USSR. I don't however, think sharing the ethnicity of those people is a magical fact that makes someone always right about everything to do with the topic. I don't need to point to my Irish ancestry to discuss the evil committed against the Irish people by the English.

Calling themselves communists doesn't mean they actually lived up to or represent the ideology. North Korea calls itself a democracy but look how long the same family has been in power. I don't think using that flag to represent the ideology does it any favors, and I don't take kindly to the defense of any authoritarian regime. The failings and atrocities of the USSR will forever stain the reputation of communism, but capitalists have committed the same and far worse in the pursuit of enriching themselves.

(And I'm also Polish, since apparently that matters)

Scheduled maintenance is a bit different from a power outage. Honestly though I've accidentally made it to the parking lot before remembering it was a maintenance day. Luckily I don't live that far from my site.

Phone in my vest pocket playing at low volume, controlled by my watch. At least until they get around to installing cameras in the racks because a certain shift isn't capable of going a week without crashing into something.

Source: I'm PIT trained. There are areas where it is allowed, but that is dependent on FC, and only in designated areas with proper safety measures.

Only tried the free reigns. The last just long enough to make it through a shift. I don't get to use them much though, since I mostly work in areas they aren't approved in.

They work fine if you actually wear them correctly, I suspect many of the complainers don't know how to wear earplugs. If you have a history of ear wax issues I'd be careful using them.

Haven't done either, but work with both. Either is a lot of desk work and talking to supervisors. Learning trainers are responsible for training associates. Receiving clerks run the inbound dock. Both being L3 the pay would be the same, I can't say how much it would be bc that's dependent on location.

Definitely not supposed to. PIT training explicitly covers it. There doesn't appear to be an appropriate barrier in place that would allow double stacked. Even then, triple stacked is definitely not allowed.

Just non voters. Third party voters in total could have flipped a state or two, but that's counting libertarians, and it wouldn't have actually made any difference.

The reason Kamala lost is because she ran a bad campaign. People want someone to vote for, not against. That's why Mamdani won the primary for NYC mayor. The democrats are hell bent on trying to appeal to right wingers who'd sooner vote for the literal antichrist. You can't keep shifting your platform closer and closer to outright fascism and complain about losing the left in the process. My red line is genocide. If you don't have one, you're why this keeps happening. The way forward if the Democrats are to survive as a party is left, not right.

It depends on your fc and which machine you're learning

Center Rider- pretty easy just bring work back and forth. It's long so it can be a little tricky to maneuver at first

Forklift- depends which model your fc uses. Mine uses a standing Forklift, so it's not very comfortable. The controls on it are hard to get used to.

Order Picker- pretty easy to learn. You'll be doing more picking then driving. It gets a bit shaky in the highest racks.

Turret truck- the biggest PIT in my warehouse. Low visibility so you have to check blindspots. You use it to pick and stow pallets from the rack.

Training will cover general PIT safety, PIT specific instructions, and a practical portion.

You can always opt out of driving if you aren't comfortable/don't want to.
