I am generally offline enough nowadays that I don't play a ton of games besides the ones I work on and what games I do play and work I do is all pretty much on my laptop, which I prefer since I am out and about so much nowadays. When I work, I generally would rather be in the living room or out of the house entirely at a cafe or something, being behind my desktop just makes me feel so closed in and isolated and I really just can't stand it anymore.
This is a bit of an issue because there's still some things I want to do on my desktop or some more intensive games I wouldn't mind playing sometimes, but 90% of my actual use of a computer nowadays is largely just to watch movies or shows or videos.
I've been interested in playing some old games and getting back into more casual or controller based games - stuff I can play on my couch when I'm bored or hanging out. I already have a Jellyfin server I like to collect shows and movies in that I wanted to move to a dedicated device with a properly fat harddrive so that I can have always-on access. I live with three other people and am by far the nerdiest of the bunch, if I were just living on my own I would just move my desktop to the living room and maybe make a new account for privacy and use a mouse and keyboard to navigate things, but I live with three other people and I want to have this be a nice thing for the house and a little entertainment center for all of us.
I got well and enough storage on my desktop to be my media server, and I also want to fill it up with ROMs and some selected good on the couch Steam games. The sticker is I need to figure out what the best GUI for this sort of thing is - namely one that would be easily accessible to anyone that might be passing through my house or living with me without being annoying for them or require them to learn. Namely I want people to be able to navigate with a remote or at least a controller if possible, and ideally I'd like for all the games and the shows and movies I have in Jellyfin to be accessed from the same menu. Maybe sometimes I'll want to dick around with a mouse and keyboard but I can always plug those in myself if I need them.
The desktop's running Windows and Linux Mint dual boot, I was hoping there might be some suggestions about if I should move my personal stuff to a full other partition or something and have it default boot into the entertainment partition or if that'd be overkill. Any and all thoughts or questions welcomed.

Trump admin does shit because the oligarchs and fascists that make it up do their own projects (and regularly fight over them) and try to feed the far right ecosystem they've created. They got bailed early on in the administration but were basically considered way too toxic even for the admin once they got over here and I suspect they realized that the Tates had largely outlived their usefulness. The prison stint had stripped a lot of the Tate's momentum and I suspect they are generally far too narcissistic in a specific way that offends even Trumpian sensibilities and they are covered in so much legal and political baggage that has likely just been piling up again now that they're free.
The admin does a ton of shit and the far right is still a tapestry of endless conflicting types of freak, they just do shit because they think it'll piss off the libs and appeal to their great base of Joe Rogan and Nick Fuentes fans.Didn't the Trump regime bail them out of the first time the police nabbed them? Or am I thinking of some other sex pests in the RW sphere, there's so many it's hard to tell them apart sometimes.
