I get that it would likely be slightly more efficient for some things to have them split, but ultimately if you just want the art with no good thread culture or discussion you may as well go just about anywhere else. What's so special about the thread on this board in particular is that it managed to somehow become more of a community than any other imageboard porn/fetish general I've ever seen. Not to mention the fact that the majority of the thread wants it unified, which is obvious even if you don't believe the polls for whatever reason since you can see the IP count of the split thread is a fourth of that of the actual thread.
That being said, even for the people who want split threads, it really makes no sense to support the current one. Right now it's just the hangout of a few shitposters and maybe a few other people who wanted the threads and haven't been driven away by the shitposting yet, and lending legitimacy to that is just encouraging more shitposting. The time to have this type of discussion is after we somehow manage to get rid of the shitposters, though seeing as the mods don't give a flying fuck about this place.

The guy's openly gone to other boards and shat up threads about it, and if we're going to put on our tinfoil hats for this I'd say they're just trying to get these killed completely.
