Benjamin David King Obituary

Benjamin David King passed from this life on Saturday Nov. 19, 2022 at age 21.

Those who knew him saw that Ben was gentle and kind, adventurous, funny and intelligent. He had a special affinity with dogs and cats. For those blessed to know him, he was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his mother Susan and stepdad Larry Miller, his father Craig and stepmom Judy King, his siblings Tyler, Summer, Jared, Grayson, and Zachary King, his stepbrother Alex Singleton, by his brother-in-law Patrick Payne, sister-in-law Sheri King, nephew Sebastian Payne, nieces Lucy Payne and Nadia King, his grandparents Charles and Yvonne King, and by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Condolences may be shared and live webcasting is available at www.lane-southcrestchapel.com.

In lieu of flowers, Bens family requests that donations be made to the Humane Educational Society animal shelter, 4155 Randolph Circle, Chattanooga, TN 37406 in memory of Bens beloved cat Kyroh, who preceded him in death. It was at that shelter that Ben and Kyroh chose each other as best buds.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 12 noon in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Tony Walliser officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 23rd honoring Ben from 10:00 am to 11:45 am at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, 833 Chickamauga Avenue, Rossville, GA 30741.

He tried to teach me parkour strategies many times that went over my head completely. He was someone I could tell anything and everything to. He was very insightful and gave good advice. I wish too that I kept in touch with him. I miss those late nights playing Minecraft ... Continue Reading

Craig, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Thinking of you and your family at this impossibly difficult time. I cannot imagine the pain of losing a child, but God can. Let Him hold you close as you find a new normal for your life.

Dear King Family,I did not know Ben well, we only hung out a few times, but he struck me as a bright, deep and kind young man. He loved animals which stems from a caring heart. I knew him best through his sister, Summer. She was always bragging about him and all her broth... Continue Reading
