When did the "activist" game developer mindset start?
Most strange phenomena can be pinned down to a single date or title, such as the first game to feature a turrent section, or the first game to feature quick-time events (I'm glad those two features are gone). So, what was the first game where the developers had a "activist" mindset, where they didn't care about their customers at all and actively fought against them brazenly. When did this terrible, narcissistic mindset start, and what's the first game to be plagued by it?

I can pinpoint such a mindset with movies, with Ghostbusters 2016. That was the first movie I saw where the director, the actors, and even the studio funding it actively went against the customers and fought against them so openly. It was pretty weird, which made it satisfying when the movie flopped and it sequel was cancelled.

But what about games? What was the first game to be plagued with the "activist" mindset that ruined it?

If you don't know without being spoonfed, then you are not informed enough on the subject matter to be able to meaningfully contribute to the conversation.

Have a nice day.
So basically it doesn't meet your political ideals?

That's not what they said at all. You were saying that you want game developers to be forced to design female characters in a specific way of your choosing, and they were questioning how that's different from what you're arguing against. (Spoiler: it isn't)

In some cases it might be too realistic and not idealistic enough.

It's exactly what they said.

I said, "I think A," and they respond, "so that means you think B."

when it won game of the year, they thought they had control of the industry and could do what they want.

now look, so many developer studios shut down.
You do realize the attrition rate for developers and studios and even publishers has always been extremely high in gaming right?
Pong, with its racist dog whistle for sure. It was easy to see that Space Invaders was a commentary on illegal aliens crossing the border. Don't even get me started on PAC-MAN with its "ghost". Then Super Mario really went all in with its virtue signaling that was in your face the whole time.

Wait until you realize that I have been predicting the AAA crash since before Gamergate.

Wait until you realize that corporate greed is the problem. Woke isn't killing ♥♥♥♥.

Having to make 200 billion dollars this year because you made 199 last year is
Covid crashed AAA in a domino effect of people actually discovering indie and AA on the mass transition to PC, also the ballooning costs and time of development forarge scale AAA games. The demand from this discovery brought these small time developers to spend the money to bring them to console further increasing the scenes popularity

AAA was never as good as its popularity...and it was always greedy. The biggest issue AAA has is having to bring 4th and 5th installments to dead gameplay loops. Once that formula fully matures it's over. You'll notice new AAA IPs are doing great...I hope R* pulled a Fromsoft with GTA 6, because that GTA formula is pretty stale...but I think 2 bill will do it lol

Lately, I've been suspecting that there's a deliberate attempt to create controversy with a dev's game because it generates publicity.

I've heard of concord because it was controversial. It wasn't on my radar prior to that.

I don't know that deliberately creating controversy has the intended effect that the devs are going for, but it is a successful way to generate publicity.
Sandfall comes to mind...now they've been seen with Anita 😱...A.I., are they an indie or not, the drama surrounding that game has far more depth than the game itself.

People liked the game fine, but it felt more like people liked fighting about it more. The current player count represents the drama dieing down

'Games are art!' -> People use games to tell complex stories, some even involving women and minorities -> 'No, not like that!'

There was actually more diversity before the woke activist basically started forcing devs to follow a check list, especially in fighting games.
Also way more sexism and gender and racial stereotypes.

People like the OP basically watch Gundam and only see giant robots, and watch Godzilla and ignore the anti-war anti-nuclear messaging
People who think the humans in Starship Troopers are the good guys.

Amen. Was so much better. A healthy dose of sexism and racism almost always makes for better stories. You know because the majority of all living humans are either sexist, racist, or both. Excluding that from a story makes it instantly makes it require far too much suspension of disbelieve.

Also the humans were the good guys in Starship troopers. Anyone who wants aliens to live over citizens is a psychopath. It's just like those weirdos who values trees, and turtles and ♥♥♥♥ more than humans. Just wrong in the head.

Funny how you always say BS like this, but never once cite any sources for these claims.

That's the main issue with conspiracies. It's always "inside info" or "you know". And they never elaborate

Also why they can't actually prove ♥♥♥♥. You need real things for proofs.
