When did the "activist" game developer mindset start?
Most strange phenomena can be pinned down to a single date or title, such as the first game to feature a turrent section, or the first game to feature quick-time events (I'm glad those two features are gone). So, what was the first game where the developers had a "activist" mindset, where they didn't care about their customers at all and actively fought against them brazenly. When did this terrible, narcissistic mindset start, and what's the first game to be plagued by it?

I can pinpoint such a mindset with movies, with Ghostbusters 2016. That was the first movie I saw where the director, the actors, and even the studio funding it actively went against the customers and fought against them so openly. It was pretty weird, which made it satisfying when the movie flopped and it sequel was cancelled.

But what about games? What was the first game to be plagued with the "activist" mindset that ruined it?

I have no issue ignoring games that I am not the target audience of. But when these activists started pushing their ♥♥♥♥, they tried making their own games, which flopped hard, since the audience they were targeting didn't even exist.

Where I started taking issue is where they started going after existing franchises or started attacking the games that I am the target audience of.

Like look how the activists ended up with egg on their face when they attacked Stellar Blade and body shamed the main character's body as unrealistic, only to have to eat their words when it was revealed that she was the body scan of a real woman.

Nintendo of Europe was equally censorious when it counted. Sure they allowed Devil World (a first-party title that was outright banned in the US) but they turned the Contra games into Probotectors, where all the humans were censored out and replaced with robots. And as Europe generally got first billing for international releases, that also led to smaller cases like that one Strider knockoff censoring a humanoid queen into a undead lich queen instead (because of their rules against depictions of human death).

Oddly the only international branch of Nintendo that didn't censor as much was the Spanish branch, even small details like keeping Vivian as a cross-dresser in their version of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (he was censored to be a natural woman in the English Gamecube releases).

It is a landmark precedent, and that is why it constantly gets referenced. You just throw a fit about it because it proves everything that I am talking about.

The activist used their flowchart that they used against all attractive female characters, only for it to come back and blow up in their face when the truth about the body scan was revealed.

That was the gist of it, yes. Strangely he didn't say anything about the Elf Archer, who has a flat chest and is the shortest character in the group (which would make her the most "child-like" character according to their logic).

I believe the only way to get more games like the ones you are a fan of is to show them your love and support. Arguing with or against "activists" on the internet avails nothing. Motivating the developer to make more games is the best course of action.

Stellar Blade sold like a million copies on Steam in like 3 days, IIRC. They announced a sequel in the works almost immediately after.

Meanwhile, censored to hell DOA6:LR has mostly negative reviews, and it has more day 1 DLC than concurrent players.

Meanwhile games like Concord are getting cancelled in under a month.

The message is being sent. The issue is that the activists aren't listening. They would rather watch the industry burn (their own words) than step away from their agenda. There is a reason why like 1/3rd of all western devs have been laid off over the past few years.
