It seems , Samsung took away the option to unlock a phone without pressing "OK". Probably, the thought behind it was to prevent an attacker from being able to find out the length of the PIN, because with "OK-less" unlocking, the lockscreen will reject an entered PIN once its length is reached but the PIN is wrong.

Sadly, this removal lead to the loss of convenience. It requires one additional touch at every unlock for those who don't trust biometric unlocking. And the loss of convenience is guaranteed, while what it seeks to prevent is just a small likelihood. It sacrifices a lot of convenience for a tiny bit of security.

A better solution

Here is how it could have been implemented without reducing security: Don't reject the incorrect PIN or password once its length has been reached, but still automatically accept a correct PIN or password. This prevents the length of the PIN from being revealed to an attacker.

Now, you'd think "doesn't that make it possible to brute-force the PIN?"

To that, the solution is treating a certain count of keystrokes without a successful unlock, such as 100, like 5 failed attempts with pressing "OK". This disables the keypad for a duration escalating from 30 seconds.

This count should not be dependent on the length of the password or PIN, such as the length multiplied by five, because that would expose the length again.

Another useful option would be to disable visual feedback on the keypad screen. This means the keypad is visible, but no dots appear above it for every character, and the keys don't light up if you tap them.

I bought some Apple Gift Cards during a Woolworth promotion with the intention of buying a MacBook, but after trying it I realized it wasn’t the right device for me. Since I returned it, I was refunded with Apple credit instead, which I now have to find a way to spend.

In the end, I decided to buy an iPhone 17 Pro. I had been an iOS user for pretty much my entire life, until I bought a Galaxy S25 Ultra out of curiosity. After using it, though, I realized that Android was probably better suited to my needs.

For example, I can set routines to automatically disable fingerprint unlock when I’m connected to my home Wi-Fi or enable power saving mode in certain situations, select text directly from an image without having to take a screenshot first, or copy multiple different texts at the same time. These are small features that I use quite often and that I noticed are not available on iPhone, at least not in the same way.

That being said, there are definitely things that iPhone does better. Apps, especially Instagram and TikTok, feel much more optimized: on my S25 Ultra they almost look like Full HD, while on iPhone they give the impression of being much sharper, almost like 2K quality. Some app optimizations and the overall experience with certain applications also feel better on iOS.

However, for the rest of my daily usage, I had the opposite impression. The battery life actually felt worse than my S25 Ultra, even though my Samsung is already one year old. Also, when using Low Power Mode, the phone feels too limited and noticeably slower compared to how it already feels in normal use.

I didn’t choose the Pro Max because, while I appreciate the large screen of my S25 Ultra most of the time, when I’m outside and want to quickly take photos, I often find it too big and uncomfortable to handle. I wanted something more compact.

There are obviously many more pros and cons, but since I only used it for one week, I wasn’t able to notice them all. So in the end I decided to return it. But the problem is that I’m leaving Australia in less than a week, and Apple credit can only be used here. I tried selling it brand new and still sealed, but there doesn’t seem to be much interest. At this point, my options are either selling it to a Cash Converters and losing around aud 500 (iPhone is 2k), or keeping it and trying to get used to it.

My question is: has anyone here switched from Android to iOS? Did it take you some time to adapt, or did you immediately realize that iOS wasn’t for you? I’d really like to hear the experiences of people who made this switch, because I’d like to know whether it’s just a matter of getting used to iOS over time, or if iOS simply isn’t the right fit for someone who is used to Android.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE that working really well, except when it's hot and humid outside.

When the temperature increases to above 25C, the phone's touch screen starts becoming unreliable. Swiping or dragging is interpreted as clicks, because the phone thinks I lifted and then lowered my finger while swiping. This makes using the glide typing keyboard highly unreliable.

I verified that every part of the touch screen works, by running an app that checks that the phone can detect touches for every part of the screen. This seems to work reliably, even when I experience problems with the phone experiences unreliable touch problems.

I tried cleaning the screen with 70% isopropyl alcohol, I tried removing the cover protecting the phone and I tried letting the phone cool down so it isn't overheating, but none of those seem to solve the problem.

I also tried enabling or disabling the phone's screen protector mode (I don't use a screen protector), but that doesn't change anything.

As soon as the weather changes to colder weather, everything works as intended.

I'm considering paying for a screen replacement in hopes of fixing the problem, but I don't know if that will fix the problem or if it's just a design flaw of the S20FE.

Anyone else experienced the same thing with this or other Galaxy models and if so, know if the problem can be fixed?

I have an iPhone 15 pro, and after updating to iOS 26 (regrettably) and downloading the iOS 27 developer beta in hopes that my phone would stop having a midlife crisis when I got it 2 years ago - I do not want an iPhone anymore. Every update is just a newly downloaded performance disappointment. I can’t even say the issues it has because it’s multiple different issues every day.

I joined this Reddit in hopes of maybe getting a z flip 6, or a s24U or something, but I feel like every other post I see have a lot of display defects and a lot of lines.. should I run in the other direction of Samsung, or just certain models? Help?

I’m on a tight budget so I can’t really just grab a S26 or anything, and I’m looking at different refurbished sites and models, so maybe something that’s not from the current year would be a good start if it doesn’t have so many issues. I’m trying to stay away from the A lineup because I’m somehow broke and picky at the same time. I don’t want something that has a hard time performing smoothly, and I feel like android has been in the 8-12+gb of RAM field longer than Apple has so I might just sound unintelligent in this whole post, but we shall see 🥲

My current phone (a25) is not in the best shape and I need a new phone I did some research and apparently the s22 is good but im not sure.

Im looking for a samsung phone with really good camera quality, long lasting battery life and lots of storage. For me those are the most important thing. However with my price range I can understand how that can be difficult 100-350 euros my absolute max would be 450 but I dont really want to go there.

I know samsung officially states that it is 1 tb max for all their phones but I've used a 2tb without issue on the a35. For context im using a 1.5tb sandisk but im getting write issues and transfer stalls to the sd card via ftp.

I'm suspecting it is either the sd card is failing or sd card capicity read issue.

So I attach the samsung devices to samsung cloud. What I was expecting is that wifi would be sync across device, so if add a wifi to my samsung phone, it could be copied to my samsung tablet.

However, this is not what is happening. What I am seeing is that wifi seems to be sync per device. Is this how it is supposed to work?

Samsung removed AaptX adaptive and other codec to benefit its own codec. Such a patehtic move.

Also, dual bluetooth audio have massive delay, even in 2026. Used everything 'metronome' etc. It is such a shame that even apps like Sound Seeder can do it why donott you samsung. Just and a manual sync slider and auto sync option in it. Whats the point of giving this feature if it is unusable.

Just bought Bose soundlink flex 2 which have aptX adaptive support , unable to use it with samsung s21 fe snapdragon.

Anyone have any idea how to make samsung notice this problem.

I just switched from pixel to samsung and i love it. Just one thing is bugging me that i dont think samsung can do it.

Pixel has a feature where if it face unlocks you cans till press where the fingerprint scanner is to unlock the phone or swipe. Can samsung do this?

Such a small thing but I seem to always going into the customize lock screen setting because of it when I'm just trying to unlock my phone.

limpar cache, dados e forçar parada de Serviços de papel de parede, Papel de parede e estilo e Samsung Media Storage.

usar o Galaxy App Booster (via Fine Lock)

reiniciar o celular

I want a budget phone and was thinking of buying M36 but the drop notch disappointed me and was wondering if the new m37 might come in July 2026 (India Under ₹20,000).

I have to email pictures for my job. I can only send a couple at a time through Gmail. It seems like I have the settings the same as my old phone where I could send many more photos. Any ideas?
