AT 655. TIME FOR WGAL NEWS EIGHT TO GO. LET’S START WITH CHRISTINE ON THIS IMPACT DAY AND STORMS ARE ON THE WAY. ONCE AGAIN. CHRISTINE. WE HAVE SOME SUN THIS MORNING, BUT YES, THE CHANCE FOR SOME SCATTERED AFTERNOON AND EVENING STORMS ON THE TABLE TODAY FROM 1 P.M. TO 8 P.M. NOW, THEY WILL BE A SLOW MOVING AS THEY WERE YESTERDAY. WE DO NOT HAVE A FLOOD WATCH TODAY, BUT STILL ISOLATED STORMS COULD PRODUCE BRIEF HEAVY RAIN ALONG WITH DAMAGING WIND GUSTS. THEY’RE GOING TO BE FIRING OFF OF A COLD FRONT. THAT STALLED BOUNDARY ACTUALLY UP TO OUR NORTH. EVENTUALLY THAT FRONT WILL SAG SOUTH TOMORROW AND HELP TO ALLEVIATE THE HUMIDITY. BY THE TIME WE HIT SUNDAY. SO THAT’S THE KEY FOR THE WEEKEND FORECAST RIGHT NOW. THERE HAVE BEEN A COUPLE OF SHOWERS THAT HAVE DISSIPATED OVER WESTERN COMMUNITIES. A LONE SHOWER APPROACHING STATE COLLEGE. I’LL KEEP MY EYE ON THAT ONE, BUT THINGS ARE PRETTY QUIET IN THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY. TEMPERATURE CHECK 73 IN HARRISBURG AND LEBANON. WE HAVE 71 IN CARLISLE, 72. GOOD MORNING TO YOU. IN YORK. DEW POINT TEMPERATURES ARE UP THERE. SO YEAH, IT’S WARM AND STUFFY THIS MORNING. KIND OF LIKE YESTERDAY. BUT WE DON’T HAVE AS MUCH MOISTURE TO WORK WITH TODAY FOR THOSE STORMS. SO HERE’S OUR FORECAST. WE GO WITH PARTLY SUNNY SKIES, SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. 1 P.M. TO 8 P.M. HIGHS WILL BE IN THE LOW TO MID 80S. TONIGHT PARTLY CLOUDY. AREAS OF FOG REDEVELOP 70 AND TOMORROW. MIX OF CLOUDS AND SUN 86. JUST AN ISOLATED CHANCE OF A SHOWER OR STORM. IT FEELS BETTER BY SUNDAY AND I’LL SHOW YOU THE HEAT NEXT WEEK. COMING UP IN THE TEN DAY. GOOD MORNING EVERYONE. RIGHT NOW WE’RE LOOKING GOOD ACROSS THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY. NO CRASHES OR INCIDENTS TO SLOW YOU DOWN. WANTED TO GIVE YOU A PEEK OUTSIDE. HERE’S HARRISBURG IN DAUPHIN COUNTY. INTERSTATE 283 AT EXIT ONE A. LOOKS LIKE THERE IS A LITTLE BIT OF A SLOWDOWN AS USUAL THERE. HEADED TO THE AIRPORT. NOW, IF YOU’RE DRIVING OUT OF HARRISBURG TO LANCASTER, A LITTLE BIT SLOW AT 34 MINUTES ON 283 EASTBOUND. GOOD MORNING, I’M CAMERON. WE’RE LIVE IN HARRISBURG, WHERE LATER TODAY, STATE LAWMAKERS ARE RETURNING TO THE CAPITOL IN THE HOPES OF FINALIZING A STATE BUDGET. NOW, THERE’S A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT TOPICS THAT ARE GOING TO BE DISCUSSED STARTING THIS WEEKEND. THAT INCLUDES THE STATE’S RAINY DAY FUND AND ALSO FUNDING FOR SCHOOLS. STATE SENATORS ARE RETURNING TODAY, AND HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES WILL RETURN TOMORROW. GOOD MORNING. I’M GABRIELLE THOMAS, LIVE HERE IN CARLISLE. YOU DON’T HAVE TO KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT CARS TO APPRECIATE ALL THE CARLISLE CHRYSLER NATIONALS HAS TO OFFER. FROM NEWER CARS TO OLDER VEHICLES. THERE’S SOMETHING HERE FOR EVERYONE. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO EXPERIENCE THE CARLISLE CHRYSLER NATIONALS, THEY WILL BE HERE UP UNTIL SUNDAY HERE AT THE CARLISLE FAIRGROUNDS, MILLERSVILLE BOROUGH COUNCIL IN LANCASTER COUNTY VOTED TO APPROVE AN AMENDMENT ALLOWING THE DEVELOPERS OF THE CROSSINGS AT PENN RIDGE TO BUILD APARTMENTS IN STAND-ALONE BUILDINGS, IN ADDITION TO APARTMENTS ABOVE COMMERCIAL SPACE, 350 HOMES, INCLUDING APARTMENTS, AS WELL AS SMALL SHOPS, RESTAURANTS AND CAFES ARE EXPECTED TO BE BUILT AT THE CORNER OF ROUTE SEVEN, 41 A ROUNDABOUT IS ALSO PROPOSED ON ROUTE 741 IN THE AREA AS PART OF THE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT THAT STILL NEEDS APPROVAL FROM PENNDOT, PENNSYLVANIA HAS NOW RECORDED OVER 100 MEASLES CASES THIS YEAR. LANCASTER COUNTY REMAINS THE HARDEST HIT AREA, REPORTING 52 CASES. FOR COMPARISON, THE STATE RECORDED 16 MEASLES CASES LAST YEAR. AND JUST FOUR THE YEAR BEFORE, AND NOW HAS OVER 100. EXPERTS SAY THIS COMEBACK COMES DOWN TO VACCINATION RATES, WHICH ARE UNDER 95% IN LANCASTER COUNTY, AND DOCTORS SAY THAT IS A CRITICAL THRESHOLD FOR KEEPING PEOPLE SAFE. HERE’S A LOOK AT YOUR FORECAST FOR THE FRANKLIN COUNTY FAIR. JUST FIXING IT UP FOR YOU. FOR TODAY, WE ARE GOING TO START WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE 80S THIS MORNING, WITH PARTLY SUNNY SKIES AT ABOUT 10:00. ONCE WE HIT THE AFTERNOON, THERE COULD BE A FEW THUNDERSTORMS AROUND. WE’RE WATCHING THAT WINDOW OF 1 P.M. TO 8 P.M. FOR THE CHANCE FOR SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS AND STORMS IN THE FAIR RUNS THROUGH SATURDAY. THERE’S A LOOK AT THE TEN DAY FORECAST. PRETTY DECENT FOR WEEKEND EVENTS. JUST A SLIM CHANCE OF A SHOWER OR THUNDERSTORM ON SATURDAY. SUNDAY WILL FEATURE LOWER HUMIDITY. THAT’S THE KEY TO THE WEEKEND. I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT. WE SEE
