Japan has launched a new Maid School Japan, offering professional training for aspiring household maids serving wealthy clients rather than the pop culture-inspired maid café industry.
The newly established school, created under the supervision of the Butler Association Japan, is designed to train professional household maids capable of working in luxury homes and serving affluent clients. The school is now accepting applications for its inaugural term.
The curriculum consists of 12 training units, including:
Professional mindset and ethics of a maid
Manners, grooming, and communication
Luxury home cleaning techniques
Table setting and meal service
Confidentiality and handling personal information
Household management
Care of clothing and valuables
VIP hospitality and guest relations
International etiquette
Practical examinations and comprehensive training.
According to the organizers, the program is intended not only for those wishing to become professional maids, but also for people working in hospitality, tourism, executive assistance, consulting, and other careers where high-end customer service and attention to detail are valuable skills. Students may enroll in the full program or take individual classes based on their interests.
Classes will be conducted online via Zoom by active professional maids and butlers. Applicants must be 20 years of age or older, though no previous experience in hospitality is required, and both men and women are eligible to apply. The first term runs from July 28 through September 3, with enrollment limited to 20 students.
Tuition for the complete course is 290,000 yen (approximately US$1,800), while individual lessons cost 29,000 yen each. Graduates who complete all twelve units will receive a certificate of completion from the school.
I don’t know why but this kind of gives me the whole Ladies x Butlers vibe here, but with Zoom Classes. Yes, it’s a very old anime.that I referenced here, I know.
Per the web site this is just one guy hustling 20 suckers a pop. I wish him all the best, but I doubt his students will be learing anything marketable.
