It's a really fun and amazing game, but the issues start to show the longer you play it. There are a lot of bugs, and some things should probably be balanced (I'm looking at you, MONK...). Certain bugs or enemies can straight up ruin the fun of the game.

I don't regret my purchase at all. This is one of my favorite VR titles, and I'll keep playing it as long as the devs update it. They have something special going.

Me and a few friends have put a fair amount of hours into this game, but it's so difficult to put even more into it considering its current state. It shows a lot of promise, but the developers are not fixing game breaking bugs that ruin the game completely for everyone.

The game is an absolute buggy mess at the moment. Every single session, you will run into multiple game breaking bugs, and from looking at the past few updates, these aren't being addressed and instead more content/cosmetics is being prioritised.

One of the worst bugs involves purchasing a pet, and then the pet not following you because someone picked it up even for a split second. As soon as any other player other than the owner of the pet picks it up, it will sit still and never move again until the owner goes back for it and picks it up themselves.

Items randomly disappear when you die for some unknown reason (this happens very often), even if you check every single corner of the room after you've died and dropped your items.

Sometimes when you place a package on a doorstep securely and ring the bell, the package doesn't get taken, you don't earn any money and the door shuts off completely as if a package was delivered.

Sometimes when your squad is wiped or you run out of time and nobody is at base, you lose your pet completely. The whole point of the pets is to have more storage and for it to carry over if you die/fail, so one of the major selling points for the pets is completely irrelevant half of the time. What makes this even worse is that the game will still think you have a pet, and will not let you purchase another one.

With the newest update another two annoying bugs have been introduced:
Sometimes other players (outside of the host) can't purchase items unless the host switches the page to the correct one in the shop. Other players can still switch between the five pages in the shop, but can't purchase items half the time if the host hasn't switched pages as well.
Putting any package into your pockets, a pet or a bag will misalign the package completely so that it is floating outside of the zone it is meant to be in. This seems to happen incredibly frequently, each time we buy a bag and put anything in it, it randomly causes all the packages to start floating around the bag or much further away from it which makes it really difficult to try move them around or pick the correct one.

If the developers actually prioritise fixing game breaking bugs instead of adding new content and cosmetics, this can be an excellent game. The vibe and general gameplay is great! But all of the bugs mentioned above (and many other minor ones) are ruining the game really badly right now. You never have a session of this game without running into multiple game breaking bugs. It is unlikely me and my friends will be continuing with this game for the time being unless the game becomes more stable, and it's really hard to recommend this to anyone with how riddled with bugs it currently is.

If not for the Humble VR Bundle I probably never wouldve tried this game.

That being said there are microtransactions for cosmetics, which I really dont think belong in a premium title. Theres no need for extra ways to milk players and its honestly the main reason why my review is negative.

Despite that I still had quite a bit of fun messing around with friends in the lobby. One of my favorite items is the balloon because it distorts your voice. I got jumpscared a handful of times too, and the mimics are honestly some of the best enemies Ive seen in these proximity voice chat style games.

EDIT: this review is for an older version and some of the issues have been fixed, will update when I next play

As much as i enjoy this gameplay loop I just cant recommend it in its current state. too many glitches and bug make it so dis heartening to build up.

1st the good:
it is a fun game, scratching similar itches as repo but in vr, and its clear the devs want you to have fun with this. letting you slap players into danger or stick sticky notes on their backs. going into the world with the items to find the right place to put them is also more unique instead of going in to find valuable items to take out that most these game have.

sadly onto the bad. theres just too many glitches involving items and locations.
we have probably lost over 1000 gold worth of stuff because of glitches.

spend ages going down the gun route to finally unlock it and get killed with it and it vanishes so noone else can pick it up when it still had 3 ammo left

manage to unlock pets but if another player picks them up then they stop moving until you pick them up again. this leading to them been left in dungeons and loosing everything they have on them and you cant even buy a new one.

someone gets grabbed by the roof leach and when you free them you get pinged across the map and arms stuck for a while somewhere else. sometimes you even get stuck in the wall or thrown out the map.

items in bags sudenly enlarging when we put it in a storage place so we cant see what we are trying to get out the bag.

you end up going through all the effot to unlock one of the end things, accepting the glitch here and there cause a light or balloon gets pinged across the map or even worse through a wall and just shrugging cause they are easily affordable to get back but then to have it happen to something you've grinded to the end of one of the end of an unlock root and paying the 300-400 to buy it only to get 1 use out of it and it just vanishing because it pings out the map or because someone breathed on your cat cause they was trying to grab a package from it and it stops following you leaving it, the bag full of packages and just ruins your mood since its not easy to just get them back

the worst part is some of these issues have been known by the devs for half a year now (they have acknowledged people reporting these bugs in the discord). I was hoping that maybe people just haven't reported them but no the reports are there and devs replying with "thanks for letting us know, we will get on that" and still buggy after many updates but it seems they are just adding new stuff instead of focusing on bugs.

if the devs fix bugs we may come back to this game but until then I cant see us playing much more, loosing high end gear makes it not worth it to get that far

It's got a solid foundation as a co-op VR game, essentially being a VR rendition of REPO or Lethal Company where you bring the valuables into the dungeon instead of taking them out. Just one major flaw that kills it all for me is the level generation. Far too often does a level generate in a way where one large monster completely roadblocks the only path, forcing you to dip out as the only alternative is dying. If this were more avoidable, then the game would be plenty of fun with friends.

this game is very fun to play with your friends and the slapping mechanism is reall good cause the more power you hit the more they go back and the fact that its vr is crazy and they should add a dlc that makes it screen mode!

this game is PEAK. This game is like if you mixed lethal company and any dungeon runner. Flat Head really took a step up since content warning. The only issue that I have with it is that anyone can spend all of the server's money to gamble it away on the spinner.

Kind of like Lethal Company in VR, but a million times better. The package system is a much better quota system than Lethal Company's is. I'm already having a lot of fun playing this with a friend. Sadly, on our first game where we actually survived a decent amount of time, those packages were not taken when we set them on the doormat. I think this was moreso our problem though, not the game lol. Definitely worth it for the price.
