Capcom’s Pragmata developers have revealed the harsh internal criticism the project received early in development, sharing that management repeatedly rejected the team’s work and described them as “incompetent” in several key areas.
During a recent documentary and developer talk, the team explained that Pragmata began in 2019 after Capcom executive Jun Takeuchi challenged a group of younger developers to create “a game on the moon.” However, after the game’s initial reveal in 2020, the project struggled internally as prototype stages repeatedly failed to meet expectations.
Internal feedback included comments such as:
“Unable to make compelling puzzles.”
“Unable to make compelling action.”
“Incompetent at level design.”
Another piece of feedback bluntly asked:
“Is this what you’re trying to entertain your players with?”
Rather than hiding those criticisms, the developers chose to share them publicly, explaining that the comments became motivation to improve the game.
Many noted that Pragmata ultimately overcame those early struggles, launching to positive reviews and selling over two million copies worldwide within just over two weeks.
Looking back, the developers said the difficult feedback ultimately helped shape the final product, turning what began as a troubled project into one of Capcom’s newest successful original IPs.

Never played it and probably never will, but it’s nice that they have a lоli character, even if it looks kinda ugly in the game. The fan art is decent at least.
It’s not nice, she was censored.
use a bikini mod, make fulfill her true purpose as a cunny sex bot
Wipe off your drool p♥♥o
The reason for its success was the controversy surrounding the character modeled to look like a child, and the massive uproar that ensued.
Those criticisms are still valid even now. Its a mid game with nothing really ground breaking backed by a triple A studio. And lets be honest it only sold two million copies b/c its a capcom game nothing more nothing less. Also i assume he is only showing these “criticisms” b/c of his ego since it wasnt a total flop. If they do make a sequel they better make it better since the game was so forgettable that I had no care for a second game.
It’s quite hard to make something groundbreaking when “management” is involved. Those people have no idea of what potential a game might have. They only know “X sold well, we should copy it”.
It was quite a fun game. Story was nice, atmosphere was very nice, graphics and sound were really nice. It was a good, fun game (personal tastes and all)…
