I was missing a word in that, so I messed up. If you have Romance on the Rim, you can get Inbound and Outbound Diplomatic Marriage Requests. Inbound Diplomatic Marriage Requests have the faction offer someone from their faction to join yours as a fiancee to one of your pawns, while Outbound Diplomatic Marriage Requests have the faction go 'let's deepen our bonds by having on of your pawns join ours to marry this specific pawn of our faction', in which doing so makes them leave your faction to join theirs.

In this case, piggers were asking me if I wanted to send one of my pawns to them to get married. I don't know if Runtime GC will end up deleting that pawn or not when it does its 'which pawns are relevant' check though.

Nope. Whenever I have that event trigger, it almost always seem to show me bad candidates for marriage. Like one time the DMS faction was like 'hey send one of your female pawns to marry this guy right here' and that DMS faction pawn had that DMS implant that makes them have 0% Social Impact and stuff because it redirects/turn off all joy and recreation needs in their brain in return for removal of Recreation/Sleep/etc. Need. In otherwords, I'd be marrying my pawn to a literal living machine, and I care too much about my pawns to do that

I just hate having to play with god mode on just to keep any of them alive. May as well just play the sims at that point.

Combat has always been the second weakest part of rimworld because you can roll up with a 20 shooting stat squad of power armor colonists and they will just lose to literally everything short of you stepping in as constant divine intervention. That GOT larper only succeeded in making a 2D sims game. Not anything else. Even CE sucks + run & gun. They just don't fucking fire their weapons even with "fight" turned on by default. Had a better time just going full 300 on their ass with war elephants than ever fighting directly using my pawns.

Never bothered with the extremely tedious caravan and global settlements system being the single worst part of the game that was never innovated on over the last decade. Its just too janky even with mods. I should be able to just select a group and send. Not all this extra shit that belongs with the actual royal ceremonies and arcane rituals actually in the game. Especially for a short attack run a few tiles over to wipe out a bandit camp. Im not going to fucking trade with them and the trading system gets in the way of any kind of questing.

I really hope whoever came up with the cinder faction gets rid of their shitty mod. Its dumb that the silly giver mod gets deleted but this unbalanced garbage doesn't. I love the cool rocketswarm launchers in it, but rimworld combat is retarded and will misinterpret ANY kind of AOE damage is being intentional damage to friendlies, which would be fixable if they only made it damage faction relations if you personally ordered the attack.

Had a cool scene going on where I built a plasteel castle around the landed starship and am defending it while spawning in a ton of enemy reinforcements with dropships and stuff that keep converging on the ship. The missile launchers keep them at bay pretty well, EXCEPT THE FUCKING AI KEEPS THINKING IM TRYING TO KILL ANY ALLIED PAWNS and most modders, and by extension game developers, don't play their fucking game. Its annoying to have to play with god mode on all the time just to rush back over to a comms console on the other map so they dont order 66 my ass because this "story generator" game was never designed to cover epic battles.

Our food situation is finally somewhat stable, but man are we having unforeseen issues. Corpses decay super slow if they decay at all, and if we put them in the river it to decay faster it pisses everyone off. But to make a burn pit we need wood, and there's no actual trees to make planks out of. So we have a big fucking closet full of skeletons. Also none of the filth ever goes away from rain, so we have to plant giant mushroom trees that feed on filth

I had 2 in full plate + 2 more on heavy haurberks. They were the ones holding the chokepoints on the wall, but it was just too many raiders. The main issue was them breaking down the gate. I played badly, i should have put traps behind the gate and should have retreated when I saw the gate was close to be destroyed. my town had narrow corridors so I could have done some urban fighting but eh. if I save scum now I will just lose interest in the run. it is what it is.

I started using it back before Odyssey when using the Geological Landforms mod, I started on a map with a huge lake in the middle of the map and playing it as a 'my colonists found a lake with functioning steel platforms on the lake from ancient times' thing to do a 'floating base' kind of start by god mode building the steel bridge foundations, only to have my pawns hit High Expectations right from the start from those bridges alone

Storyteller settings, pretty much. Except for Randy-like storytellers where a particular setting isn't 'built-in', most storytellers look at how many (adult?) colonists you have in your colony and if you are below a certain number, increases the likelihood of those 'Wanderer Join' or similar events firing. It works conversely as well in that once you go past that 'colonist cap', the likelihood of those events firing drops dramatically instead

For medieval overhaul players, if you want to keep animals, is better to have those that gives items in small pens and only feeding hay or kibble (depends if you have a dedicated butcher).
The reason is very simple, both, harvesting wheat and putting wheat in the mill gives you hay so you will have extra hay if you feed your villagers.
Now that you have extra hay, you don't really need to worry about feeding your animals so you save walking time by having them all in a small room instead of having your handler walk all around the pen chasing your animals to shear and milk.
You can even put meat animals inside too so your hauler can bring the corpse faster, but I personally prefer having my horses in their own stable just for roleplaying.

Rimworld women can barely take care of themselves when having to feed two babies, much less more.
All my saves these days seem to be full of babymaking and it ends up with every mother getting stuck unable to do anything other than be chained to suckle sessions for years because I also have an autistic need to turn the child aging rate down to 100%

Thank you. It really did help to play on custom mode. Also turning the “colonists can die instantly from any attack” modifier down to 0% helped too. This is literally the only reason my colonists keep dying during fights and is just a cheapass mechanic that shouldnt be in the game. Its the same logic as being instagibbed because someone missed a swing and cut a tiny strand of hair.

I dont care about leaving the planet or going to endgame. The fun for me is just daily life with waifu and our family

That setting for Friendly Colonists is actually more of changing it so that colonists can't be instant killed by attacks that would do so. For example, if a colonist had 30 Torso HP and took 50 Torso HP damage, by setting it to 0%, they'll always be left at 1/30 instead of 0/30 (dead). It's only the 'Enemy' storyteller setting that has the 'chance to instantly die if they get Downed for any reason' thing, which I set to 0% because enemies in power armour shouldn't just die because they tripped over a rock. It does mean that mechanoids like Centipedes can require a lot of bashing even after they're downed to kill properly, sitting on 5% HP forever until their reactor or processor is destroyed (or their head/torso is completely destroyed).

I was testing but it seems I will need to add mods to create proper dogkins (I won't). The base game has the ears linked to your skin color, so they end up looking like pig ears instead of dog ears. I could give them a tail but not the ears. I would still love to isekai Ragusa one day since she is cute, but she will be a baseliner instead of a dogkin.

Also kind of immersion ruining on custom peaceful mode when the run will start next to two ancient cryopod rooms and it forces you to build some defenses. Didnt open either of the rooms but i had to manually delete them with god mode. I thought i turned off anything short of natural disasters like lightning causing housefires.

Vanilla sentry guns are redundant and dont work with the cutsey anime homesteading when i just have a titanfall smart pistol for home defense that actually works. Only downside is the relatively short range compared to nocs being able to snipe you with any ranged weapon.

Cant find any decent pilot armor mod so settled on some shadow fall era helghast armor. Its really good for dealing with subzero temps too.

This mod might help. You can set a time for how long they need to be in the colony before they will even attempt romance.

took a little while to reach and complete the research to actually be able to pick, but after some deliberation i'm going to be going with a set of SCARs. fully kitted, they have pretty significantly better sights, sway, and recoil control in exchange for a tiny DPS loss with its lower rate of fire. despite seemingly having a way longer aim time, they actually have a -20% modifier to aiming time that brings it back down to a closer and more useful 1.2 sec, i dunno why gtek does his stats like that on these advanced guns lmao
thinking these will be the standard issue rifles for my main combat pawns, and i'll give them a PDW for faster closer targets. i'll keep the 2 grenade snipers i have as they are because they already kick ass, though probably replace their glocks with the same PDWs once i pick something out, and finally get an LMG into someone's hands and we're golden until i can start mass manufacturing advanced missile launchers too (i will be immediately giving the stay home team javelins because they don't need to be able to aim them)
