Here's a tip: Don't mess with cheats but DEFINITELY don't mess with them if you don't know how to disable VAC on a server.
LOL here is a tip for you too: read what it says in my guide under this section:
"3. Your friend cheats only on servers that are not VAC enabled or that have allowed all kind of cheats." 👍
You cannot get VAC banned in a server where VAC is disabled. THINKING it was, does not mean it was.

True, thats why nobody is claiming such thing

All your guide shows me is that even after 10 years, you still have no idea how VAC works.

....and yes, accounts can be banned even if they don't own the game:

How do VAC bans relate to phone numbers?
VAC bans are applied to all accounts sharing a phone number at the time of the infraction. For this (and many other) reasons we do not recommend sharing your phone number or using another user's phone number on your Steam account. Accounts sharing the phone number that do not own the game the VAC ban is for will still receive a VAC ban and will not be able to purchase the game moving forward.

https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/647C-5CC1-7EA9-3C29#phone

Ever read that? I mean, you've had 10 years....

Here the thing about Valve and phone numbers.

Can I share my phone number between multiple accounts?
Yes. You may use the same phone number on multiple accounts. Accounts with the same phone number may be treated as the same identity with respect to the Steam Subscriber Agreement, policies, or restrictions.

https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/7EFD-3CAE-64D3-1C31

In case you're wondering, restrictions means bans.

Lul wat? you really must have difficulty understanding what you are reading... Nobody claiming anything that you cannot be banned if you dont own the game, in fact in my guide i said the exact opposite, and nobody saying anything about sharing phone number on familysharing. In fact in my guide i say how you can get banned if you dont cheat but somone in your familysharing does. So do you always undesrstand everything you read as excat opposite what it actually says?

The only one having trouble reading here, is you.

Your account cheated or was linked to one that cheated or it would not be banned.

Correct?

Correct.

You've also had 10 years to read this:

What if a family member is caught cheating or committing fraud while playing my shared games?

Your Steam Family privileges may be revoked and your account may also be VAC banned if a member of your Steam Family playing a game from you cheats or commits fraud. In addition, not all VAC protected games are shareable. We recommend you only invite trusted household members to your Steam Family. And, as always, never give your password to anyone.

https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/054C-3167-DD7F-49D4

Now, whether you think that reason is valid or not is not relevant. You are warned when you set up Family Sharing.

Well i am not claiming that you should not get banned if you enable family share and somone in that familyshare is using cheats, and in my 10 years i did read that, and i did follow that. i only shared my steam familyshare with people who dont cheat in VAC protected servers, as is recommended by valve.
It seems like you always read every text half way, and if you have actually read my guide or understood what i am saying in there, i was telling how there were servers which had these scripts installed, that after you played the said server, the next time you opened up cs1,6 it would automatically force you to connect to their server, now matter what you did. The problem was that these servers were VAC protected.

Maybe i need to post it here, since you refuse to read the end of my guide, and explain it to you like explainig to a children

So lets say you follow valves advice and only cheat on a server that is not VAC protected and says in its description that cheating is encouraged.

Lets say you play in those servers that install this script that forces you to connect to their servers no matter what. Then lets say you decide to whatever reason to switch to another server this time one that is not VAC-protected and allows cheats. Well you close your counterstrike 1.6, you go and enable cheats, and you open up a counterstrike 1.6 again, lets say you press the button that says:" find servers" because you want to find this non vac protected server where chestin was allowed. Well remember earlier when i told those script installing servers? oops, you are now forcefully reconnected to one of those. , and they are VAC-protected. Now you get banned.
You were doing excatly as valve told you to do, you were not having cheats enabled in VAC protected server, but you were frocefully without your knowledge connected to one.
It's funny after that wall of text you still can't see the flaw in your reasoning. Who chooses to jump back and forth in servers? You. Who chooses to mess with cheats in the first place? You.

Do you see those two words in your wall of text?

"enable cheats"

Now let's say you have a user who has a 10-year-old VAC ban on a 13-year-old account who obviously did not read the Steam Subscriber Agreement when they created the account.

You agreed not to cheat in any server, for any reason.

4. ONLINE CONDUCT, CHEATING AND PROCESS TAMPERING

https://store.steampowered.com/subscriber_agreement/4

Cheating is not a game where you flip it off and flip it on.whenever you choose. There are consequences. Those consequences are permanent. Now, tell me, who's not reading? Cheating is not allowed, period. Regardless of what you think. Valve certainly does not give you advice to only cheat in certain servers. You're only proving that you are the one that is not reading and you haven't read anything regarding the bans or Valves policy towards cheating, in a very long time or ever.

Wow, you actually believe that Valve thinks it's okay if users only cheat in certain servers. I've heard some crazy stuff around here and I've been here for 21 years and I've never heard anything as crazy as that.

Those servers that you're referring to are community servers run by individuals who have nothing to do with Valve. It's their choice to allow VAC to be disabled on their servers. Users like you are also making a choice as well and you're also taking a chance that one day you're going to accidentally join a protected server and get your account banned.

No one at Valve is ever going to tell you that cheating is okay or allowed. If that were the case, VAC would not even exist.

You thinking HVH servers were okay or allowed by Valve was your first mistake. It's okay, I guess, you're not the first person who thinks that.

Valve is NEVER going to state that cheating is encouraged.

Ever.

LOL.

Just WOW.

Subscriber agreement has changed drastically since 2011 when i bought cs1.6 in a disk from gamestop dont know excatly if it said that back then.

Actually, in Counter strike 1.6 existed long before steam did. So Yes i do think valve thinks it is okay to cheat in non-VAC servers that allow cheating. In fact there even exists non-steam servers for half-life 1 based games such as cs1.6. Some of them allow cheating or encourage it. I dont think valve minds that you cheat on those servers. And besides you can play in LAN or CO-Op in some of the half-life 1 based games, and i dont think valve would mind if you chose to play in one of those with cheats enabled.
"who chooses to jump back and forth in servers?" me yes, but it is not something to be banned from, and besides those scripts they didnt just activate when you jumped back and forth servers. If i pressed any option on cs.16 it would connect to these servers like even pressin the "options" - button. So you could literally have cheats installed and when you try to connect to single player, or better yet not trying to play at all but change settings, you get banned.
It has been updated. Here's the thing though, the policy towards cheating hasn't changed at all.

No, it didn't. Look at my account. September 12th, 2003. 1.6 launched with Steam. Get your facts straight please.

None of those servers that allow cheating are affiliated with Valve. Are you aware that anyone can buy or rent a server and do with it what they please? That does not mean that Valve allows cheating.

Who chose to have cheats installed? You. We're done here because at this point all you're doing is posting blatant misinformation.

Well counter-strike was realeased all the way back in 1999 that 2003 is just a year it was released to steam. and besides that my point still stands many half life based games existed with multiplayer long before steam did. And yes cheats are not something you can turn on or off, i didnt clain that either i just said enabled, english not my native language tho, besides if you had read the guide you pretend you do, there i clearly say install. So if you did read the guide you pretended to misunderstand me, and if not, then you are lying.

Blatant misinfo? So saying cs1.6 existed before steam and had multiplayer support an some servers that encouraged cheating is blatant misinfo, WOW thats like millions of cs players lying, you sound like your countries presidential canditates xD everythin you desigree is just misinfo LOL

" None of those servers that allow cheating are affiliated with Valve. Are you aware that anyone can buy or rent a server and do with it what they please? That does not mean that Valve allows cheating."
Thats my excact point. It was you who laughed at idea of Valve not mindind if people cheat, not me i thought it was oblivious they would not mind if the server had nothing to do with them. I never said thatvalve encourages cheating, it is just that those individuals who own the said non-steam server do. It is kind of hard to believe english is your native language since you dont seem to understand it very well.
"
Wow, you actually believe that Valve thinks it's okay if users only cheat in certain servers. I've heard some crazy stuff around here and I've been here for 21 years and I've never heard anything as crazy as that." You see the conflict between these 2 statemens?
You heard that crazy stuff from yourself just now.

I actually believe that valve it is okay if users cheat in certain servers, i dont think it they would mind if it was non steam server or something like that wich has nothing to do with valve.
I guess it is not so crazy now?

But hey like they say it is useless to play chess with a pidgeon because it would just turn over all the pawns sh1t everywhere and act like a its a winner.
Wait a minute? Chess? Do you think you've won here? What exactly have you won? My account isn't banned. Yours is. What's worse is you don't think that you deserved it, even though you willingly admitted to cheating.

I don't know how you're coming to this conclusion, but you haven't won a thing.

LOL Dunno how i would win anything if i got myself unbanned, besides i dont think it is possible, i could not care less about if you get banned or not, that was not my point,

and no i didnt cheat it was my friend in familyshare as i have said many times, paying attention on what is said is not your strongest points. You might have misunderstood that saying, it is a metaphore.
It means that you should not debeta or argue with someone who is not even intelligent enough to understand basic concept of that conversation, they generally think they are saying something intelligent when not, like bigeon thinking it just won the chess game, when it didnt even move one piece correctly.

I dont see these kinds of discussions as something to be won or lost, i see them as 2 people having a different point of views and trying to get closer on the truth is by discussing, a journey towards the truth, but unfortunately it takes both to achieve this goal, no matter how hard i try, i cannot achieve it
alone. Sometimes some people just cant admit they are wrong.

It doesn't matter if you didn't cheat. Why? Because your account was linked to an account that did sheet. Do you know what same identity means? I literally gave you the link to where it talks about it and you ignored it. Valve sees accounts that share phone numbers and use family sharing as the same account.

That literally means that if one account cheats, all other accounts that are linked to that account, are banned. You're trying to one-up people in here and you're failing. You are warned when linking accounts either by family sharing or by a phone number as to what will happen to all accounts that are linked to any account, that cheats. Your fault for ignoring those warnings. We're not playing chess. You're just another user who didn't read the policy and are now trying to blame Valve because you failed to read the policies properly and yes, you are actually supposed to read it.
