As usual, the people who profess this "idea", never give a thought to innocent users being punished by this method... as well as installing a frigging root-kit on your computer willingly. I know I never will.
If you get banned you can contact support if they see you didnt cheat or you used something that isnt against the rules you get unbanned the process is a lot easier than valves
And we have come full circle. Again.

Cheating accounts get perm banned. It's the only deterrent that does anything. You want to continue arguing this but there is no argument here, Valve makes the rules, not you.

I think there are some really good arguments against Valve, they do make the rules, but they can also change them its not like you cant argue against them

you haven't brought anything to the conversation that hasn't already been torn to shreds countless times over the last 2 decades or so... just use the search function. It has all been beaten to death, numerous times.

Move on.
I already moved on it was 5 years ago like i said,

If that was true then this thread wouldn't exists. As far as Valve cares if it alters the game's files it's a cheat, and any account caught with them are permanently banned.
Amazing how these same brain rot posts with cheaters defending their own actions to death aren't getting insta locked..

It doesn't matter what your opinion is, it doesn't matter what you think is better or not... Or what the punishment should actually be, bottomline is that Valve puts out these rules and you have to abide by them.. Coming here to defend your ban is literally going to do absolutely nothing..

And if you already "moved on", then why are you even here to begin with? With how unfair your permanent ban seems to you... Be honest, you haven't moved on.. You simply came here to state that you find the system unfair and want it to be changed just for you.. Because in your own mind, you have this weird idea that Valve should be on their knees kissing your feet because you are some holy person that Valve should be grateful to have on their platform.. And by doing so that every single rule must be changed just because you have the exact same status as the catholic pope on here...

Let me just give you some advice, stop thinking that you are special because you aren't.. You aren't above anyone else on here, you aren't some hotshot that Valve should change the rules for.. You are just another user on this forum who was caught by the system a long time ago for breaking the rules, for using things on your device that shouldn't even been there in the first place..

Valve sets the rules, those same rules that you accept when you sign up for a account.. Break those rules and you will be banned permanently, end of story..

There is no fighting the system here, there is nothing to win here in your case.. There is only more to lose..

Make a new account and actually move on.

Good thing support cannot remove VAC bans.

1 VAC ban on record | Info -<<---
1348 day(s) since last ban

VAC bans are permanent, non-negotiable, and cannot be removed by Steam Support.

...and a cheat being detected is the ONLY reason:

Can you tell me what program or software caused my VAC ban?
No. We do not disclose the cheats that were detected while connected to a VAC-secured server that resulted in a VAC ban. We have detailed records for each VAC ban, however, releasing this information would only benefit cheat developers. The VAC team regularly investigates claims of false VAC bans to increase the effectiveness of Valve Anti-Cheat.

That's why that link says reason.........

That ban is correct or it would've been automatically removed a LONG time ago, it will never be removed.

Of course it would be.

But you didn't think twice before using it, by the looks of it.
It doesnt give an advantege for me or anyone in the game, it was 5 years but im still curios why people who use skin changer get the same punishment as real cheater
A cheat does not have to give any advantage at all.

Don't count on it....they tried temporary VAC bans once, it failed. Why? People kept cheating.

Valve started working on a "long-term solution" for cheating in 2001. VAC's initial release was with Counter-Strike in 2002. During this initial release, the system only banned players for 24 hours. The duration of the ban was increased over time; players were banned for 1 year and 5 years, until VAC2 was released in 2005, when any new bans became permanent.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valve_Anti-Cheat

The ban were already permanent 10 YEARS before your account was created.

You REALLY need to research things.
I remember when this kind of think of happened to me, It was my friend using skins and even those in non-VAC protected cs1.6 servers and me having familyshare on. Because all games in steam that run on goldsrc engine all based on half-life, my ban says i got banned from half-life LOL, Not only that but despite valve saying i have 1 ban i am banned from all goldsrc based games, even thise i purchased after the ban, because they are all based on half-life. This was quite annoying, but it was such an absurd thing that it quite funny in its own way. VAC is such a ridicilous system, you can get banned many ways without cheating I even made a guide for this LOL:
That guide is bogus, because if your "friend" used a skin changer... THAT is a cheat. What makes you guy think you can dictate what is and isn't a cheat? Valve does that.

I think you might not have red the actual guide, atleas not fully to the end...

I don't need to....did you read this thread completely?

It's very simple. The rules say that this is prohibited and that it is punishable by a ban. And if Valve established such rules, then there is no other way. Either you follow the rules, or you don’t and you get what you deserve.

Any company that gives people something has every right to set its own rules for using what it provides you, no matter how unfair these rules may be in your opinion.

No one will give you a better answer. Therefore, if I were you, I would simply close the topic.

Well i do agree that skins are cheating and valve should ban people for using them in a VAC-protected server
, If you would have red my guide or even what i wrote here in this thread you would have notice how that was not my point. I just said that this thread reminds me of a time when my friend used skins (and therefore cheated) and i got banned. In my guide i show how he was only using these skins or lets call them cheats in non-VAC servers that said in their description or name that they allow cheats.

EDIT: Skins in this contects means counterstrike 1.6 skins not counterstrije 2 skins. Skins back then needed to be downloaded from a website and they were not officially supported. They could change your enemies, mapsweapons etc look to what ever you wanted, unlike in cs2 where they are officially supported and just add to costetic changes to your weapons.
It wasn't an insecure server if the account got banned.

Here's a tip: Don't mess with cheats but DEFINITELY don't mess with them if you don't know how to disable VAC on a server.

LOL here is a tip for you too: read what it says in my guide under this section:
"3. Your friend cheats only on servers that are not VAC enabled or that have allowed all kind of cheats." 👍
