About This Game

Paint your own body! Blend in like a chameleon in this hide-and-seek game!

yeah! Mechcha "Hide and Seek"

The rules are simple. Split into the Seeker team and the Hider team to play hide-and-seek. The Seekers win if they find everyone within the time limit.

yeah! Mechcha "Paint"

The way you hide is a bit special. Paint your pure white body to blend into the stage. Just like a chameleon. The hiding spot, the pose, and above all, your artistic skills are the key! Deceive the Seekers' eyes with a mimicry that would even surprise a chameleon.

yeah! Mechcha "Matching"

Of course you can play with friends, but you can also play with people you don't know. (If you create a server that is not set to private, anyone can join freely.) Game streamers can easily host viewer participation games. The maximum number of players depends on the host's network environment. (2–10 players recommended. This may increase or decrease based on future playtests.)

Most multiplayer games test your aim or your strategy. This game tests whether or not you can successfully convince another human being that you're a random wallpaper. If you’ve ever wanted to know exactly how much your fight-or-flight response compromises your artistic ability, this is your game.

The rules are simple: you’re a blank white blob trying to survive hide-and-seek by literally painting your body to match anything around you. It starts with confidence, but the second that timer drops, all spatial awareness leaves your body. There is a deeply humbling moment where you think you've pulled off a stealth masterpiece, only to realize you haven't turned off your dynamic shadow. Yes, your own graphics settings betrayed you!

It’s cheap, incredibly addictive, and proof that a game made of pure duct tape and a color wheel can provide a massive dopamine hit. It’s the kind of game where playing with friends will either result in a masterclass in stealth or complete, unadulterated group confusion.

Game so good i became a door to door salesman for it - except the door was my friends DMs and the product was mandatory fun. This game awakened the Picasso in all of us. And the workshop maps? Chef's kiss-excellent collection.

10/10, would lose all sense of time again. If you are on the fence, just buy it and force your friends to !!

There are a lot of games out there that you see on social media and it feels like their sole purpose is to farm twitch clips. I thought MECCHA CHAMELEON would be one of those games, but its really really fun. Its such a simple concept- what if you were playing prop hunt but instead of choosing props to disguise yourself as, you had to paint yourself? You might think it would be easy for the hunters to find everyone as they stick out from the walls, but it's a lot harder than it looks. There's only a handful of poses for the hiders to use so you really have to get creative, the limitations makes hiding a lot more interesting. Steam workshop support makes it feel endlessly replayable, just need to wait for it to get more good maps. We played Counterstrike Office and I hid as an icicle hanging off of the awning and somehow didn't get found. Super fun game with friends, would recommend

Been already some times played with friends. Big shoutout to the devs for the new poses they dropped recently it shows they actually care about keeping the game to be interesting. It gives me hope theyll keep the updates coming, thats needs for great replayability.
About optimization - on my rig, it runs buttery smooth. Not a single crash, stable high FPS the whole session. No complaints here, just pure fun.

Probably the most abysmal ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ server search you'll ever use
Invites don't work 70% of the time, ect. It'll likely stay as it is, price wise it is what it is. J*ust just go to pub, make a name and have them spam you with invites until you get a popup

Else, core gameplay is fun with friends n pubs when you get it going. Ya don't get banned due to art, which is sweet and there's always workshop maps

It really pains me to say this because I adore this game and its concept. However, I cannot in good conscience recommend the game in its current state.

If you're going to be playing with a private group of friends, then by all means, this is probably the game for your friendslop (positive) night. It's funny, skill-based, you get to enjoy painting and hiding in spots that make you say "there's no way this is ever going to work," until the clock runs out and you're the last one standing as a painted toilet paper roll.

However, the public lobbies of this game and its moderation leave much to be desired. It's impossible to scroll without finding multiple lobbies named anti-semitic, homophobic, and racist slurs. Upon joining one that you hope is normal, you end up finding people with names that are also inappropriate, people painting themselves with hate symbols, and nothing to do about it.

I literally had my chat hacked at one point during a match and two people spoke under my username some of the most racist things I've seen in YEARS. I'm shocked and appalled that people think it's okay to say and do the things they're doing in these servers. Not even just because children tend to be the main players of this game, but because this de-humanizing language normalizes the de-humanizing of these demographics. I understand this is a small dev team of two and they likely were not expecting the success that they got. But I'm begging, please, please, please implement better moderation tools and administrative tools for server owners.

I would be happy to amend my review at some point when and if this is improved. But as of right now, when I want to play without my friends in a public lobby, the game is practically unplayable.

Hide and Seek: MS Paint Edition.

This game will make you realise you don't even know the colours of the rainbow. The entire experience is a beautiful disaster. You'll be blending into what you think is the best spot ever and as soon as you know it you'll be completely hot pink because of a misclick. It turns a simple game of hide and seek into a full blown art project.

One way or another you will learn your colour theory. 8.2/10
