The Road to 56 was released in 2016 This is a large mod for Hearts of Iron IV, first posted on December 18th .
2. Detail
The modder's intention is to fix the existing Vanilla version, which had a drop in content after 1945 and effectively ended the game after 1950, so that it could be enjoyed until 1956. Road to 56 means enjoying it until 1956. It combined various existing content addition modes, turning it into an innovative mode that not only extended the play period until 1956 , but also enriched the basic content itself. It is said to be a combination of as many as 47 independent modes. Another big advantage is that it solves the conflict problem that frequently occurs when multiple modes are combined and mixed together .
Here are the things that change with this mod:
Here are the things that change with this mod:
- national tree

It expands/reorganizes existing trees and adds national focus trees for minor countries.[1] It is divided into a general focus and a road-to-only focus, and can be selected before starting the game. The general focus is not the same as the vanilla focus, but is a slightly expanded version based on the vanilla focus. For example, Germany only had restoration and democratic routes after Hitler's ouster, but the communist route has been added to the Road to General focus. After patch 1.15, the communist route was added to vanilla. - Technology Research Tree: Research is extended to year 56, and a completely new tech tree is added.
- Political Laws: New laws not seen in vanilla are added.
- Events: New events that did not exist in vanilla are added.
- nation
- Country implementations omitted in vanilla: Free City of Danzig, Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco, San Marino, Kingdom of Egypt[2] , French Indochina was added. Small islands in Oceania were added, Syria and Lebanon became French territory, British Burma became Indian territory, Kuwait, Lesotho, Eswatini, Jordan, Brunei, the Saudi border area between Qatar and the UAE, Nendorh and the Solomon Islands became British territory, and Nauru became Australian territory. Also, the name of Monggang was changed to Mongolian Local Self-Governing Council, Yemen was changed to green, Belgian Congo was changed to the same color as Belgium, and Liberia was changed to brown. And part of the Ogaden was changed to Italian territory at the start.
- Addition of countries that can be liberated: Although it is difficult to directly affect the progress of the game, the number of countries that can be liberated increases. For example, if you occupy the Soviet Union and then liberate the countries, Ukraine will be additionally liberated in addition to the existing Soviet Union constituent countries.
- Added Country: This is also increased, so Latin American Spanish countries can eat Mexico and make Ispano America! However, in the case of the European Union, it did not reflect the territory added by the German DLC.
- Some historical errors corrected: Changing the Chinese Communist Party to the Soviet Republic of China or implementing Aden as part of the British Indian Empire, etc.[3] The historical research is more detailed than vanilla. However, while this is better than vanilla, it is not perfect like the Chinese warlord problem described above.
- Province segmentation
- It is impossible to pass the military in more areas, including the Transilvania Alps.[4]
- Some countries color change
- The penalty for the province dropped during a nuclear bombing and the population reduction of that province are implemented.
In conclusion, everything except combat will change.[5] . Now, individual modes have been updated and many things have been added, but no additions have been made to the Road to 56 mode. However, it is a big advantage that among the large mods, updates are active and various patches are continuously being made.

4. Korean translation
There were no updates from May 2021 to February 2022, but surprisingly, the Korean version of Road to Beta mode was uploaded!
Afterwards, the beta Korean translation was changed to the original mode Korean translation.
5. digression
- There is an Easter Egg Activation tab in the Decisions tab. If you press this, you can decide whether or not to investigate the relics, and if you press investigate, an empire boasting chicken tenders with morale buffs such as 75% division defense and +100% non-core manpower in Georgia and a Meow Nyang Empire (...) in Saudi Arabia appear, and Daniel Craig , who has a division attack rate of 99%, becomes the leader of a random country, and so on.
- Park Jung -hee exists in the portrait of Asian random leaders .
[1] Smaller countries that were previously popular, such as Lithuania and Central America, have a very strong focus.[2] The Suez Canal is British territory.[3] Indeed, before 1937, Aden belonged to British India.[4] It is located in the Sahara Desert, the Amazon, the Alps, the Himalayas, and the Greenland, which are more likely to be around the world.[5] However, it is not at the level of a complete overhaul like Total War, so you get used to it quickly.
