Why don't they move the pitch down and to the left?

Grandstand orientation . Easier to remove seats than move a stand.

😂

49m boundary is a disgrace

That's behind the stumps so it's fine. Once it gets on the other side, it becomes ~69 or a bit more (don't want to use Pythagoras). Same with the other straight boundaries.

Similar to Eden Park. Far from ideal but not unique and Eden Park has hosted many, many international matches.

about as big as Chinnaswamy . at least this has an excuse of being a baseball ground repurposed for cricket .

For decades, Roche has been a trusted partner in laboratories around the world. That journey continues as we bring the same reliability and global support to the evolving world of DNA sequencing. (Roche's sequencing technology is currently for research use only.)

I don't even know or care what cricket is played here. A 50m boundary shouldn't be allowed to exist

It’s behind square , that’s a 70m+ boundary if playing a straight shot, this happens in IPL games too…

How about a 25m boundary?

Am I alone in getting the ick seeing dimensions measured in feet?

They put it in both but it's an American catered audience. We cant visualize 50 m in our head, but we have a reference for 164 ft

Oh for sure, I was just being a parochial twat - if I was a real traditionalist though I'd be advocating for the return of Chains, yards and furlongs.

cricket is measured in imperial as per MCC...22 yards. live with it

This is America we dont give a fuck about your units

Also dont you guys use yards like 22 yards?

It’s an American League. We measure things like that, it’s not as big a deal as Reddit makes it out to be. I’m much more comfortable seeing things measured like that than in meters

I prefer hotdog eg 1 feet = 1 hotdog so it 1 meter but 3 1/3 hot dogs

Aside from the obvious short boundaries, where are the american units? Smh shouldn't they mention how many elephants that size would be?

Not even a banana for scale what a disgrace.

For investors seeking pre-IPO exposure, access comes with caveats and constraints.

Even with the New York pitch from last year it’s easy to score big targets just look at the score yesterday

Didn’t they say the smallest boundary would be 56m (which is smaller than the ~60m ICC minimum anyway)? I get that the boundary behind the batter is usually smaller. But that concept made more sense back when playing behind square was a lot rarer. Idk, I am probably being a little too pedantic about this, but you shouldn’t be able to flex the guidelines like this.

Wtf is 207 ft? We're non americans. Please simplify for us..

Edit: Fu ck! Didn't see the meters right under! I must be blind!

I feel people in the comments are whining too much.

They got together a stadium and literally repurposed it for cricket in USA and we are complaining

Why are the boundaries being measured from one side and not the centre?

I reckon it makes more sense to measure them from where the batter hits the ball from anyway.

Coz that's where they bat

Throwing the bowling for 6 is better then bowling short ball on this ground

Grounds getting smaller and smaller..more and more records ro come. Although a good job getting the stadium cricket ready..

It’s just that in Baseball, hitter hits from one corner of the field and straight down is around 400 ft or 122 m for a home run and around 330-360ft or 100-110 m on the shortest side. Their dimension can’t be appropriate for Cricket, different sport-different playing field.

Don’t bowl short!!
