I am planning to build a PC primarily for CAD / FEA application with a modest budget of ₹100k (~$1k). AI is giving me R7 9700 + RTX3060 + 32GB DDR5 RAM build, but when I check prices for those, they easily exceed my budget, especially in RAM and SSD department.

I want to know what component I can compromise with and if anyone has built for similar purposes.

My current laptop has R7 4700 + 32GB DDR4 + GTX1650, so I want some significant upgrade.

Wanted to upgrade my RTX3070 with a prebuilt PC with 5080 + 9800X3D. The price for this in the UK is vastly different but most are centered around £3000-3300. By doing some searches, I have actually found cheaper ones at £2200-2400, but the aesthetics was lacking. Some of them seemingly don’t have enough “fans”.

My friend built his entire PC with each parts being one of the best in its field. He tells me that he doesn’t trust those cheaper ones I want to buy because even though it is the same GPU/CPU from different manufacturers, the quality is vastly different. He says it is cheap cos the parts may be fake/dodgy or has much lower performance than others.

Is this true?

So before I start, my budget max is 1900.

I've been saving a while for a pc, I just genuinely don't know much about them. I need genuine help, I don't trust myself building one tbh either because I have incredibly shaky hands (early onset Arthritis.) and can't steadily do these type of things.

So can someone tell me the possible build I could use, I want to game. And more specifically have something that will steadily run games like The Last of us, or god of war.

I'm trying to figure out what's causing random black screens on my PC.

My specs:

• CPU: Ryzen 5 5500

• Motherboard: ASRock A520-HVS

• RAM: 16GB XPG (2×8GB)

• GPU: Gigabyte RTX 5050 (brand new)

• PSU: Aerocool LUX 550W 80+ Bronze (about 2–3 years old)

Symptoms:

• Sometimes the PC boots normally.

• Sometimes it works for only 10–20 seconds before the monitor goes black.

• Sometimes I can game for hours with no issues.

• Sometimes the screen goes black while gaming or even when idle.

• The monitor shows "No Signal".

• The PC seems to stay powered on (fans and RGB are still on).

• Win + Ctrl + Shift + B doesn't restore the display, and I usually have to force restart the PC.

What I've already tried:

• My old RX 580 had exactly the same issue.

• I bought a brand-new RTX 5050 thinking the GPU was faulty.

• The RTX 5050 worked perfectly for about 2 weeks, then the exact same problem came back.

• Reinstalled NVIDIA drivers.

• Reseated the GPU.

• Tested each RAM stick individually (each 8GB stick by itself) and the problem still happens.

• Changed HDMI/DisplayPort cable (if applicable).

Since the problem happens with two different GPUs, I'm starting to think it's either the PSU or the motherboard.

Has anyone experienced something similar? If so, what ended up being the cause? Would you suspect the Aerocool LUX 550W PSU, the motherboard, or something else?

Any advice or additional tests I should run before buying a new PSU would be greatly appreciated.
