Rally pods

I've had this crazy idea for a while to install rally light pods on my car with six fog lights: four mounted on the hood and two on the bumper. However, this came with some challenges.
First, rallying isn’t a very popular sport in the U.S., which means finding ready made light pods is impossible (They have for the Subaru WRX STI certain models imported from Europe) especially for a Corolla car that’s already 15 years old. On top of that, finding someone skilled in fiberglass work made things even more difficult.

After months of research, I was lucky enough to find a fiberglass expert nearby who specializes in custom work for racing, boats, trucks, bikes,
basically anything that involves fiberglass. Now, the project is finally moving forward. As you can imagine, this takes a lot of time and effort, but I’ll be uploading pictures as the build progresses.

Good question, same as my wife 🤣🤣 I always love the looks of the Subaru WRX STi WRC and I was close to buy me one. Now because my supercharge project still on hold I will focus on fully custom body mods, next one will be the rear bumper with a deflector like the Altis Sportivo.

haha. I'm no stranger to trying to make a Corolla look like a Subaru. I'm just curious what the purpose for the lights would be. Just looks? Rally lights like that aren't really needed nowadays thanks to LED pods. And that modification looks like it will be heavy. Will it be removable? Just gonna drive around like that?

Yes, that's correctt. The new LED pods we saw in the Rally Monte Carlo 25 and earlier are much smaller while providing incredible illumination. However, I'm going for a retro style that matches the era of my car. This is my daily driver, but after installing these lights, I’ll need to assess their functionality and practicality. Since they’re glued to the hood and the bumper, they can’t be removed, I have to drill the hood for the electrical components, probably a second battery or an aftermarket alternator to handle the 600 Watts extra. Worst case, I can always swap out the hood, store the one with the pods, and reinstall it whenever I have an event or car show. I know for certain this will be the only 10 gen with rally pods world wide 😂😂😂😂😂😂
