I've used Kemono pretty much habitually for the last 5 years or so, and it's always sad seeing when it slowly breaks down, especially right now. Because I have some storage and server space laying around, I've decided to create an alternative based on the original source code.
I want to make it clear though that this site is not meant to be a 1:1 replacement. I only have maybe 25% of the storage space that Kemono does, and I'm not super interested in buying drives at current hyper inflated prices (at least without any way to make it back). Because of this, I've implemented some limits:
Limits
- Only files that require a paid plan are saved. Free posts only save text / links / comments.
- All of the favorite counts for Kemono are saved on my server, along with the favorite counts for my website. When you import content, it takes the higher of the two and applies per post file size limits:
<250 favorites: 100MB (~47k creators)
250-5000: 1GB (~53k)
>5000: 5GB (~4k)
This is mainly done because of large amounts of AI generated content, and to attempt to keep the site more stable during launch. If it can't download a file, it will appear as gray on the website. If you're trying to import a creator and are seeing this happen, leave a comment and I may remove the cap for that creator.
Other
There is zero way for me to get data from Kemono besides the text and image previews that I already have (they might not even have the full data themselves anymore?) so please use the importer if you have active subscriptions, and don't ask me to add things. Patreon and Fanbox are currently supported. If there's demand for it, I could make the "Upload files" feature functional, but not planning on it currently.
