The recently announced BSide: Olivia Lin moves away from traditional gaming and instead focuses on relaxation, music, and AI-powered interaction.
At the center of the experience is Olivia Lin, a university student with a passion for piano, psychology, and studying the connection between music and memory.
Rather than embarking on quests or battling enemies, you spend time listening to piano performances, exchange messages, and interact with Olivia in a cozy virtual environment.
One of the features allows you to upload MIDI files and watch them transformed into performances played by Olivia herself, with an example given of her playing the melody to “Marunouchi Sadistic” by singer-songwriter Sheena Ringo.
The application also makes heavy use of generative AI. Conversations, stories, and responses are designed to adapt to your interactions, creating a more personalized experience over time.
For those who enjoy having music in the background while working or studying, Olivia can even remain on the desktop as a live wallpaper companion.
BSide: Olivia Lin is expected to enter Early Access on Steam before the end of 2026.
