A new debate on Twitter has seen users arguing that the same people who routinely label loli anime women as “pedobait” suddenly abandon those standards when discussing Pomni from The Amazing Digital Circus, leading to accusations of blatant hypocrisy and anti-anime bias.
Several users highlighted what they view as a glaring double standard in how certain character designs are judged depending on whether they originate from anime or Western animation:
With the release of Pomni in Fortnite, it was discovered that many people were expressing positive sexual opinions of the character, but one Twitter user highlighted how the usual suspects should be blasting Pomni over her “pedobait” design, as Pomni is short, and flat-chested, though still an adult.
The tweet pointed to Stellar Blade 2’s Evie, Frieren of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, and Futaba from Senpai ga Uzai Kouhai no Hanashi, all anime-style characters who were labeled “pedobait” by Twitter’s keyboard warriors due to them “looking like children”, and yet these same individuals do not share the same opinion of Pomni, who is highly similar:
User BunNeechan summarized the criticism by claiming that if a design originates from anime, video games, or Asian media, accusations of “pedobait” quickly emerge, whereas Western characters often receive explanations and defenses that emphasize their canonical age and adult status.
The discussion once again highlighted the hypocrisy of Western outrage warriors who demand censorship of fiction, as they purposely employ selective outrage in an attempt to quell things they personally don’t like.

Their existence is the proof that the world has gotten too peaceful that those who would have perished long before they were old enough to think are outlasting their natural lifespan, expressing their opinions that hardly mattered in human evolution with technological means that are fairly new to the entire human history.
Before discussing whatever they seem pivoted at the moment and their internal inconsistencies, we need to question whether we are allowing zero to decimal causality individuals to freely roam around taking their rights to be granted.
