Where to watch Mexico vs. South Korea in San Antonio: Watch parties planned across the city

With Mexico set to face South Korea in a pivotal World Cup group-stage match Thursday night, soccer fans across San Antonio will have plenty of options for cheering on El Tri, from large public gatherings at Wolff Stadium and Pearl to watch parties hosted by local bars and restaurants.

One of the largest public viewing events is scheduled at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium on the city's West Side, where fans can gather to watch Mexico take on South Korea in a key Group A matchup. The watch party, presented by Kemper Auto, will be held at the stadium at 5757 U.S. Highway 90 West.

The match carries significant implications for both teams. Mexico opened its World Cup campaign with a win over South Africa, while South Korea defeated Czechia in its tournament opener. A victory would leave either nation in a strong position to advance to the knockout stage.

Beyond Wolff Stadium, several venues across San Antonio are hosting watch parties as interest in the World Cup continues to build.

At Pearl, Stable Hall and Boiler House will host watch parties for the Mexico-South Korea match beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday. Both venues also have additional World Cup viewing events scheduled later in the tournament, including Mexico's June 24 group-stage match against Czechia, Team USA matches and the World Cup final on July 19.

Otto's Ice House at The Jewell on Newell plans to show every World Cup match throughout the tournament. The venue will also host a featured watch party for Mexico's matchup with South Korea on Thursday night, along with future events tied to Team USA matches, the semifinals and the World Cup final.

The list of viewing locations stretches well beyond downtown and Pearl.

Sideliners Grill is hosting a Mexico-South Korea watch party beginning at 9 p.m. Thursday, complete with drink specials on Crown Royal, Topo Chico Seltzers, rum punch, Miller and Coors pints, Outlaw beer and Amaretto Sours. The sports bar is encouraging fans to wear green and help create a festive atmosphere for El Tri.

On the North Side, Hills & Dales Ice House will host a World Cup watch party beginning at 8 p.m. The event will include a Mexico jersey giveaway, drink specials featuring Espolòn tequila and Mexican beers, music from DJ Ace and food trucks. Organizers also plan to offer hookah and bottle service during the match.

The Growler Exchange is also inviting fans to watch the game beginning at 8 p.m., offering indoor and outdoor seating, $5 pints and pizza specials throughout the evening.

Downtown, McFly's Bar & Barbecue at 829 N. Alamo St. will show the match on its big screen and offer drink specials as Mexico takes on South Korea. The venue is also promoting a watch party Friday afternoon for Team USA's matchup against Australia.

Mexico enjoys one of the largest fan bases in San Antonio, and organizers expect strong crowds throughout the city as El Tri continues its World Cup journey. With World Cup excitement spreading across South Texas, Thursday's match is expected to transform bars, restaurants and gathering spaces into sea of green, white and red as fans rally behind Mexico in one of its most important group-stage matches.
