biocraftheroActually wait idk if I've told this story. It's a really stupid one and probably one of my few genuinely good memories of high school So my high school, the week before finals, likes to hold a pep rally where the student council gives a bunch of gifts out to a select few students. The rally itself isn't important, but what is is that the student body was big enough that they had to have two in the same day, one for underclassmen and one for upperclassmen. They also have a 144p livestream of the rallies so the other class can watchThis was my junior year (3rd out of 4 years) when this happened, so my class was going second. Usually they just put on the stream and have us sit in our classrooms for the duration and we all take this opportunity to catch up on homework or just hang out and chat (the teachers didn't really care what you did as long as you behaved). But for some reason on this specific year the staff herded all of the upperclassmen out of their classrooms and into the cafeteria, where they had pulled out a projector for us to all watch the livestream together?? You couldn't bring your bags or anything you were forced to leave everything in your classroom for this. Nobody I knew at the time enjoyed thisWe're all basically looking at our phones and complaining about the situation when I suddenly hear a bunch of teenage boys loudly getting excited about something, which is never a good sign. So I look up to see what's going on, and it turns out whichever staff member hooked up their laptop to the projector had forgot to turn off their Apple AirPlay™️ and a code had appeared on screen for people to put in so they could put whatever they wanted up thereThe entire cafeteria erupted into chaos and the staff were scrambling to figure out how to handle the situation. Of course I contributed and also tried putting something up onto the screen, so I grabbed the closest unfunny meme I had in my photos. Because everyone was doing the same thing, the codes kept changing so you kinda just had to hope I type in a code and hit enter, and then suddenly the codes stop appearing There's about half a second of bated breath as everyone anticipates the reveal. The image that appears on the projector is this:ALT(it was late 2019 which is why it's so dated)The entire cafeteria erupts into triumphant joy. It's at this point a staff member remembers you can turn off the projector, so after about two seconds of this image being on screen it disappears. The staff stands in front of all of us and gives us a whole "We're very disappointed in you" and "We expected better of you" kind of speech (we ignored them) and then they sent us back to our classrooms as... punishment? I'm not sure what the goal was, considering we all wanted that anyways. They didn't even take away our phones or anything this is all the consequences we gotI told only a few people about my involvement and nobody snitched. I was tempted to admit to this in my senior year yearbook quote but realized I would probably get in trouble if I did so I didn't. And that was probably the most exciting thing that happened at my school #rambles#I've told this story to former teachers and they all find it hilarious#so everyone seems to agree this is really awesome210
