My theory on this topic is that it stems from education, not working and working from home.

When you're in education your whole life, especially if you get psyoped into uni, you live within a structure where age is important. Where age dictates what you learn, how you learn and who you spend most of the day with. Age is felt as a real divider, to an extent.
But then when you go to work in person, age doesn't matter at all. You'll be with anyone of any age, talking to them and getting to know them. The idea of being segregated purely by age doesn't happen, age simply stops mattering.

B. It's been long established and there's nothing terribly wrong with adulthood starting at 18 because you are more than capable of contributing to society by now.
