Comics MATTER

Cool, Gramps. Now tell us about how candy bars used to cost a quarter. 😂 Sad Old Men GTFO...I've read 14 awesome comics from Marvel & DC this month so far. And there's 2 weeks left in the month.

20 years. Dude missed a lot. And if exploiting the universe was a deal breaker for him, how the hell did he not figure that out before 2006?

You can literally just pirate everything and only buy it if you end up liking it.

I guarantee you this guy never read those comics and gets his info from BPCs.

The absolute line is the first series I’ve read in years from DC. It’s fantastic.

so you have fun, until you don't, and you get all mad? what a weird way to consume media and have "fun"

That hurts thinking about just how much great stuff this guy has missed.

Just like with the whole "I've been done with Star Wars since..."--Uh, okay, HOW long ago was that? Has it NEVER occurred to y'all that these franchises HAVE been coming back to the high quality you USED TO love? Not that you'd know...because y'all haven't been noticing, even from afar.

Okay let's fine that you stayed away from Marvel/DC. Do you have any cool books that you recommend from other comic companies for the past 20 years? Or have you suffered so much from the "painful experiences" that you're incapable of reading other comics? You sound like you've been just wallowing around in your house daily like you're in the 'Live With Me' music video from 'Massive Attack.' My god this is so sad.

I gotta know, what is with those guys coming to your channel that stopped being fans of the Big 2 for 20 years or more? I can understand 10 years ago was a low point but what the hell was so bad around the mid-2000s and before that? Do these people just read Spider-Man and X-Men (both which were pretty good in the mid-2000s) and think that's the whole industry?

I don’t think there’s a single weak title in the absolute line so far. The universe may eventually go down in flames, but as for right now, they’re crushing it with every book they have.

Ok, but what about other titles? A decade ago, them trying to retcon Spawn's past and later having a fallen angel tangentially related to Al Simmons be a Spawn kinda sucked but they still gave us good stories in those arcs. There's Haunt too, Savage Dragon. Sonic and Power Rangers comics, I mean, just look at The Death Ranger and Shattered Grid, and in the reboot, Zordon's alien species are the villains and Rita Repulsa of all people is mentoring the Power Rangers. There's Valiant Comics with X O Man o War and Harbinger. Comics aren't restricted to Marvel and DC.

I pretty much been trying slices of eras since 2022 as an old. Just thinking about the off the top of my head stuff in that 20 year range I could waffle on a lot. Past 20 years New 52, Earth One, Black Label, Absolute and Elseworld happened. Injustice if you count that spinoff. Trying to keep it short the guy must of dipped out around Marvel Planet Hulk/Batman city of crime? The first is badass awesome with some real feels and the second is nightmarishly disturbingly awesome. They missed out on Ennis Punisher deadpan comedy gold. DCeased OMG the most Batman of endings. It's just what Batman would do. Like father, like son. Like I said I could waffle on about slices of the past twenty years. Imagine if I had read them for twenty years OD on the waffle.
