The Queensland Police Service (QPS) is deactivating its account on X (formerly Twitter) due to declining engagement, with communication efforts focused on platforms that better connect with our community.

While the QPS account on X will be deactivated, the @QldPolice handle will be retained to protect the Service’s reputation, prevent misuse and retain an official record.

We remain committed to keeping Queenslanders informed through high-engaging social media channels, traditional media, and other trusted sources.
