Media: Tencent plans to buy a stake in the studio behind Block Blast!

According to Bloomberg, it is in talks to acquire a 'small' stake in Hungry Studio.

Bloomberg reports that the talks between Tencent and Hungry Studio have been ongoing for several months. They are now nearing completion, but a final agreement has yet to be reached. Whether the parties will ultimately agree on the deal is yet to be seen.

Neither Tencent nor Hungry Studio has commented on Bloomberg's information.

Hungry Studio is a Hong Kong-based studio founded in 2021. It develops mobile games and is well-known for the popular block puzzle game Block Blast!. As of December 2025, the game boasted 300 million monthly active users, with 70 million people playing every day.
